I purchased two outdoor RING cameras with solar panels and am very dissatisfied with RING. Both cameras fog up as the night progresses; to the point where you cannot see anything and if you switch wifi to another router, you literally have to take the cameras down and reset them. My Nest IQ cameras I put up in 2018 and have NEVER had to touch them when switching wifi.
Every step after you buy will be pain. They should not be able to be called home security. Bad customer service. Just a series of oops we're sorries.
My husband is a contractor and bought jobsite secured alarm kit for his work trailer which is left on jobsites. Box is very misleading in stating 24 professional monitoring. We found this out when our trailer was robbed blind last night. Alarm kit was set to armed. Took 2 hours to even send us a notification that the motion detector sensed something (thing goes off all the time in error anyway). When husband finally received this notification he check the cams and found the system offline after the guys robbed us then ripped the camera off the wall. He saw the video and manually activated the alarm. Throughout the robbery our "siren" never activated. Our property was long gone before we received any type of notification. We called ring today and were notified that in order for our "alarm" to "alarm" you have to purchase additional special sensors to actually activate an alarm. They had no worries about the fact that this product failed us horribly. Apparently the monthly fee we are paying is just for cloud space. A trail cam would be cheaper and probably function better.
Have 8 Ring Solar Pathway lights. The plastic stake broke on one during installation. Have been trying to get a replacement and the stake has been out of stock for two years. No help with customer service.

I was saying that I found out WHY abd How my camera order was cancelled twice by RING.The representative stated that a "machine" processes the otders. It was something to do with my payment.
I asked if a human processed any part of the order and the answer was "NO". Since it was a macbine processing orders, the machine was not programmed to accept American Express Credit Cards. The only solution. If anyone has had an American Express Credit Card accepted by RING please let me know. However, the reps at RING did NOTHING to save the order. I have not reordered and am looking for a new security company
I have five new ring cameras. Two of them are at the back corner of our house approximately 35 feet in the air. Up one of them will not work in and talking to customer service they repeatedly asked me to go up on a ladder approximately 35 feet in the air and push the factory reset. When I told them this is a significant safety issue they asked me if I knew of somebody else who would be willing to do this for me. Not only do they have the lack of insight and audacity to put me at risk but when I share with them numerous times as a significant height the suggestion to ask somebody else is ludicrous.
At this point the light will not come on and there is no additional troubleshooting they can provide unless somebody comes over with a 35 foot ladder climbs up there in attempt to manually reset it. I told the agent they have three other cameras that are extremely high if I run into the situation are they going to suggest the same identical troubleshooting. Silence……. Stay away from this device you're better off buying remote cameras in flood lights as ring it's just too unreliable when you need troubleshooting and you can't physically get to the device
Be careful fraud. My advice is not to use the ring service, be careful, the company of scammers, I have not used the service for more than a year. I canceled the service by phone, but the ring continues to withdraw money from the card, I called the company, they told me that someone had opened a new email address.
Ring double billed me for 5 years. I didn't catch it till this year. All they say is tough luck. No refund. Am going to another. Check your CC every month
I told the customer support that I was physically abused by my husband and that is why I was transferring over my account and she literally laughed at me. They need some serious training to be just decent human beings. I was really shocked by how bad customer service was. I just ordered a new camera instead and decided not to go with Ring again, for at least awhile.
I changed the monitoring from professionally monitored to self on the app. I wasn't aware that, that wont stop my card being charged. Later after few months, I came to know about it when Ring sent an email about payment being declined due to card no longer valid. When I called support, they said, in order to stop payment I need to do it on the website. Changing in the app is not sufficient. I asked for refund of the fees paid since I changed from professionally monitored to self on the app. They denied my request, saying they sent me an email about this (that payment will stop only if disabled on the website and not on the app). I never received any such email. At least I don't remember seeing such email and I don't find in my inbox now either (I could have deleted the email). I am very unhappy with the misleading (cheating) information provided in the app which just stops monitoring without stoping the plan and hence continue to charge the payment card.
I would like to request don't use this ring service at all thank you. They scammed me they took my money they didn't give service.
I have my whole house set up via ring. The outdoor cameras batteries do not last at all, which make them useless. I find myself constantly having to change and charge them. It is so much of a hassle. Now that I have spent so much money, I wish I'd gone with a better company that has way longer lasting batteries. Plus, they increased their price of monitoring the company is a joke.
The ring flood light lasted 3 months and then 8 months, and needs replacing again, getting expensive for the electrician. The doorbell took 3 times to replace before I received one that worked. Do not buy a Ring if you would like a lasting security system. They feel the last flood light died due to T-Mobile intranet going down approximately 20 plus times in one week.
Horrible! I stayed on hold for 15 min asking to speak with a supervisor. Never got on the phone. I have brought 2 ring cameras one for a gift. My ring camera just stopped working. I wanted to speak with a supervisor and they never came back on the phone I am writing this while I am on hold. This is horrible how you're treated. So I guess I have a brick.and because it's not a newer generation I am just screwed. So every few years I have to buy a ring. I'd like to have someone contact me but I am sure they won't.
Hello it worked itself out like I told you I didn't have to do anything to the ring doorbell...you needed to get that update done. Update was done and all that time I spent hours on the phones and yes hours pulling apart or trying to pull apart the system and nearly tearing things up because you failed to send instructions until four previous attempts.I am sour at this experience...my time and frustration I cannot get back... multiple calls and multiple people ring and level...it was too much...my phone died of exhaustion as well.
Stop wasting people time and organize the process to assist the customer better up front.
You guys need more training.
U have patience but need to work on organizing the process to troubleshoot shoot...I recommend using this long $#*! call as an example of order of operations when troubleshooting...the nerve to say I need to get someone to help me open the doorbell and you had the instructions the entire time and just kept letting me nearly destroy my property...

On June 18 at 9:07 PM a white female will see you walking around on my patio by way of my ring camera. I sent a post in the recorded video to ring who refuse to post it. I don't understand why I look at missing animal videos all day, long and other videos of people lurking in neighbors yards or around neighbors homes. I had a very clear view of this young lady. I was out doing laundry and I'm black so ring….What was the problem?
I installed ring cameras with my husband and contact the customer service to deactivate the cameras or change the subscription that is under my name and was told they cannot help me. They also said that they cannot help me if someone is harassing me or reviewing the images on the camera for their benefits. Got broken into and could not pull up the video to provide the police because the account was under my ex. Asked if I will need to purchase a whole new system and was told they could not help me.
Answer: Most annoying product ever. Doesn't work but almost does. This makes you constantly fool with it thinking you maybe possibly actually got it to do something similar to what they advertise. But in the end you will be back to square one with a pricey piece of crap! Then after hrs of listening to customer services b. S. you realize you've been had. But it doesn't end there. You end up on sites like this trying to help others from making the same mistake. And trying to figure out when this hell will end!
