I am not saying that roomies is a bad company. I am saying that one of the people running a room on there is a real weirdo! If you happen to go on this website and come across a listing by John Wagner do not do it! Unless of course you want somebody coming in your room whenever they want to harassing you and making your life miserable! He has it listed under Leo and Remi's room so be very careful!

Being without a stable residence can be daunting so it's good to know that roomies is Go and not just show. I've been familiar with them for a year & they will now be partially to credit for my last two lovely living situations.

I met responsible people to become part of my house which is difficult to do. Did i mention its free?

I legitimately signed up because I desperately need a room as rentals are scarce and rents have been grossly escalated. I was forced out of my place due to high rents and no maintenance or repairs, plus we were faced with 13 pages of addendums which was a totally comply or get out ultimatum. One place wanted $675 in advance as a cleaning fee in case we skip out during the night. Others are forcing renters to set up e- funds transfers from our bank accounts to pay rent, no other options, so next time we have a disaster, you may not eat but they'll have your rent payment. So anyways in light of the current situation, I expect posters to be honest and prompt. If your listing is still up but you already have a roomie, be considerate and take down your posting. If someone inquired about your spot and it's no longer available, be courteous and say so, don't leave them hanging waiting for a response. On 3 separate occasions, I have not gotten a response. This is discourteous and you shouldn't be allowed to post if you can't respond to inquiries. It's the posters' responsibility to remove the add so do so when it is no longer available. Plain and simple- a little respect. People don't like to be toyed with.

I like the Roomies platform for the integration of their background check and ability to communicate to prospect roomies.

I found last year a roommate who stayed 13 months with us, a hardworking, decent guy, his stay worked out fine, but a lot of recent roommates who contacted us to rent room are not compatible, that is not Roomies.com's fault. Thank you Roomies, you are doing a good job! We recommend you to everyone.

As a person who is trying to find housmates to rent my extra rooms, Roomies.com seems to attract nice inteligent pople who are looking for a place to live. It is nice not to have to answer questions where the information has already been clearly stated in the posting (as frequently occurs on other sites. Thank you ROOMIES.COM.

Easy to use website. Nice layout. The best part is that it is free unlike other roomate websites out there.

Excellent experience in finding the perfect roomie. Appreciated the resources provided to find the best tenant including background check, renters agreement, etc.

Over the weekend, I messaged a woman with a strange name, let's just call her "dolphin," looking for a roommate, and after 2.5 days, I had still heard nothing back, despite seeing she was online. I messaged her again to let her know she should've responded in that time. Then she called me a $#*!, which was weird because she was in her 30s, so like, act your age. So, in short, I don't like the website. The only people who have messaged me requesting to live with me are creepy old men & the aforementioned $#*!, dolphin.

I found my new roommate on this site. It is safe and secure. About half of the people I messaged didn't reply but you'll run into that on any site. I found 2 potential roommates on this site and one worked out and we move into our new place. I would recommend this site to anyone looking to rent a room or find a roommate!
