This website is the reason why I met my current roommate. Its true of all roommate websites that people will ghost you or not reach out. That says more about how other people are than the actual website. I'm not sure how the verification works, but with the basic account I was able to find people who were willing to live with me. Unfortunately, scammers exist everywhere you look for this time of thing, but the website itself worked out well for me.
Don't go for Verification or document verification with Roomies because only they will loot your money & they will say roomies have chosen to cancel your request, without any reason. Moreover, they don't even have customer support so eventually, you will end up with nothing but losing money. I spend money twice but no results. Go to any local agency for a background check or even for finding a room.
And yes, they'll say write us an email but GOD knows in which decade they'll respond.
Bull$#*! site, no one on there is real, wasted money on their ID verification, and background checks with no positive outcome. I do not recommend.
I've found all of my roommates on roomies in the last 5 years. I love this site, it's alway a HIT and this time we believe we've found the missing piece of our puzzle.
Fabricated profiles of landlords and roommates here. No one is real her. One roommate ( Female) reach me to check my flat, I found her very suspicious and nontruthful, couldn't consider her as a tenant. It haunted me when i noticed same girl after few days stalking me with two more guys. After that I immediately deleted my account from this site. Huh
I signed up for roomies.com on Thursday & by Friday I was getting sketchy phone calls. I immediately deleted my account. Don't use this site, they may be selling information.
Difficulty in login, always error messages comes. Only scammer approach you on this site. No customer support, no way to contact roomies... nobody answer your emails...
It's all a hoax. All the so call people do is ghost you. Don't bother wasting your time on this fake site. You will be better off going on FB.
I honestly don't know where to begin. I've been looking for a roommate for the past month on here. Out of the replies that I get, once I try to access them by phone off the website they go MIA it's so weird! I ended up finding a roommate off Facebook! I had someone reach out to me and worked out her move in date around early June. Then once it was time to exchange phone numbers, she wouldn't reply. I began trying to directly reach them by phone or reverse google them on linked in and such. I think they are all fake profiles honestly don't waste your time!
Lots of profiles but they don't seem to be real people. I talked to one person who spoke Filipino and then disappeared. Dubious website if you're looking for room or roomate.
Lady renting a room was a scammer. She had two AGRESSIVE PIT BULLS AND WAS A HOARDER. She rented a room in dump of trailer. A real DUMP! Shame and her and "buyer beware" on roomies.com. SHAMEFUL. The women totally misrepresented herself and her property.
This site allows you to search for people who have a room or are looking for a room. I found a great international student who is now staying with me. I'm looking for another roommate and have some good prospects. Thank you for the free website that is such a good resource for me. 5 stars!
Nothing but scammers. Thanks for wasting my time. My first ten were all scammers. No one legit has even contacted me.
I have tried to find a roommate on this site. I have 6 emails in my inbox saying every person I have talked to is a scammer. I have tried to contact support several times with absolutely no response from them at all.
