I've been trying to access my account by following the forgotten username/password on their website and it's misleading. I receive notifications that my email is in use and a password reset has been sent. Yes, spam and junk folders have been checked. It's impossible to get a hold of someone. But I keep getting charged monthly.

I canceled my subscription the same day, during the "free" trial. Yet, I was charged for two months later on until I saw the charges and disputed them with Paypal. Their website showed no active membership nor did it show me that my membership ever existed (the history of membership, cancellation date or any transactions was conveniently empty). Thus, I had not active membership, no history of charges and yet I was regularly charged. That's fraudulent and unethical. Their support manager never admitted to the mistake and insisted that I never cancelled my subscription, despite the fact that my account showed no active subscription and no past subscriptions. Crooks.

Have been trying to cancel for 3 months in a row, NO success. I've tried to email them and they don't monitor emails, no customer service! Trying to cancel through their website just doesn't work. Help center is useless. The cancelation process is unnecessarily long and complex, designed to confuse and trap the subscriber. Make sure you spot and confirm all the "cancel" buttons, there are many. Have cancelled payment through CC provider and will dispute most recent payment. Complete scam and waste of time.

I have cancelled my subscription with Scribd and I am still being charged! I had to pay an extra fee for the one month because my account was "on hold' as it expired but still being charged. After paying the subscription fee just to cancel my account, I am charge once again! The customer service is absolutely shocking. They never reply to queries or offer support. They are thieves! I have been charged AU $13.99 every month since July when I cancelled my free trial and membership. I even deleted the account and another account with these scammers just in case I was using both my emails, and STILL get charged for something I didn't intend to use beyond the trial. I tried contacting them about cancelling and why I keep getting charged and NO RESPONSE. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. This review better get me my money back or at the very least, which is what I expect from such scammers, cancel my accounts so I never get charged again. Waste of my money.

Like many others, I have experienced a sudden charge to my credit card yesterday from Scribd. Which is puzzling because I have cancelled the subscription (with an email received on this from Scribd) in July.
Upon checking, I realised they started charging me again since October, 2 months after I cancelled. I believe this a sneak in charge that gives you the false belief of the subscription cancellation being effective. You have up the scam game and learnt from the other reviewers Scribd. Good game. I used the free trial and this platform is just not user-friendly at all. I decided to cancel it after two weeks of the free trial. I am 100% sure I "end the membership" and I even got an email from them telling me not want me to leave. However, they still charged my credit card! I went back to my account and found out they will bill me again at the next cycle! I am like... ok, maybe I made a mistake. So I "end the membership" AGAIN. After I finished the whole process, I went back to my account and EVERYTHING IS UNCHANGED! WHAT THE ACTUAL F*CK! You will have to cancel your credit card if you do not want their service!

Scribd charged me for over a year through an account based on my government email, though I've never signed up using that address. I am a lawyer in the Philippines tasked to protect consumers from harmful business practices. After reviewing several websites, I am convinced someone should do something about their deceitful and fraudulent practice.

For all the consumers that Sribd has scammed, this may not be relevant now, but the fight has to start somewhere. I was charged for 4 months of subscription with no authorization. I emailed them after the first charge requesting them to refund me for the charge and make sure I was not to be charged again. I was charged another 3 TIMES after this. I just emailed them AGAIN and have had no response to my emails to their support team. I WANT A REFUND ON MY 4 TOTAL CHARGES!
