A site full of repetitive trivia regarding financial matters. If you waste your time reading this collection of overly pampered authors you will develop a distaste and and distrust of all things stocks. They all love one thing -- your "click"/and/or subscribing to their site or financial easy speak. Beware.
This site is just a mix bags of everything. The good, the bad and the ugly. I personally do not read most of them as it is just a waste of time. There are one metal Elloitt Wave guy I follow just because he is just so used to mis-inform the public, to subliminally get people to his service that I like to correct him from time to time.

I read an article from a tech guy that didn't have any sort of background in tech it seems. Terrible advice given, and the stock continued to go up.
Spencer Osborne's bio tech picks make a disaster look like an uptick. Nothing but 60 70 80 pct losses and more. Then when you call him out on it the weirdo slanders you prints your name address and accuses you of trying to contact his wife and minor children. If thats not all the creep emails me and threatens me with a harassment if I do not stop commenting on his disasters of stock picks. Seeking Alpha posts his comments on me for a time then takes them down never putting up my response I will continue to voice my opinion on this joke of a blogger(1 star on tipranks)and I am thinking about getting a lawyer and going after this sicko for slander

You'd be better served staying away from this site. Read a good financial book or two, and don't allow yourself to be driven by this site's dubious authors. We are ALL short Seeking Alpha and its dictatorial editors.

Of all the services I use for stock research Seeking Alpha often lacks credibility, integrity, and expertise. They are basically a pump and dump operation where hedge funds can hide behind pseudonyms or branded tags to trash a stock. Latest example is XON - even Jim Cramer called them out for poor ethics and judgement so that gives you an idea of how low you have stoop. Would not be surprised if editors end up as targets of SEC investigations. Avoid SA like you would an STD

Zero questions about SA except how it still exists. Hackery at its best. You may learn a bit about companies, but there are so many ignorant opinions claimed as fact, I promise, you'll walk away with as much wrong info as correct. Novices particularly avoid & please read who these authors are. This is the Used Cal Dealership of Finance Sites & we all know how lemons taste.

Poorly managed biased site that is heavily moderated leaning towards short sellers. Terrible site, not very informative, moderated by incompetent staff.

I have been on SA for over 5 years & can tell you it's a scam site. The "moderators " as well as Editors write "news" articles daily to sway stocks their way. Most of the authors IMO are not only paid by SA, but no doubt are being paid from outside brokerage houses as well to try to sway the stocks in their favor either pro or con.
The site allows any Joe Blow to be a member without any kind of bio or way to show they are a real person. So many new no bio trolls appear & throw out one liners to try to control the threads. They can have your post tossed at will. Also the moderators will ban you if you don't follow their thinking. SA no doubt has trolls patrolling articles that could have some members banned for not agreeing to their thinking. I have complained countless times about their site being totally biased. They could care less. The moderators are totally biased and definitely have their select authors.
I was very vocal about the stock SDRL, & was constantly ridiculed by no bio trolls with the names of Million$man, Elvis Level, A Prudent Investor, Sallie DD, and even their prized "author" Stobe Fox Capital berating my posts. Actually Stone Fox Capital woukd write an article & then use an assortment of false alias names to respond to members on his article. He even slipped once & admitted that I was indeed actually talking to him through his made up alias. Then SFC started to hound me on all of my other stocks I follow & started to have ny posts pulled on those other stock articles.
SA should be banned from operating as a business on the internet, but lax laws pertain to stock sites. DO yourself a favor and remember anytime you get "free advice" over the internet to take it with a grain of salt.
SEEKING ALPHA is a totally biased stock website out to control stocks any way they can. Do your own due diligence & trust your gut feelings when buying or selling stocks. Nobody will look after your money interests better than you. The internet is stock full of scammers.

Moderators on SA are under educated power hungry low-level grunts practicing censorship and getting off on it when they do not even understand the material being discussed and its relevance. Seeking Alpha needs to fire their moderation team and hire more qualified people that don't interfere ridiculously with stock forum unless it's absolutely necessary. The moderation team they currently have is a major draw back to anyone participating or continuing on Seeking Alpha and could very well be its demise. As a CEO of my own Company, I would fix this area of my business quickly.

Used this site off and on since 2008. Beware is all that I can tell you. Got a ton of "Pumpers" that either write to Pump up or Pump down stocks for there own gain and some are part of the Seeking Alpha team writers. This site shoud be under investigation from the SEC. If I could I would shut it down today.
Hi Parker,
Thanks for your note and apologies for it took us this long to reach back to you.
We strive to ensure all our articles are factually correct but we do not keep any biases towards anybody's opinion. Authors are allowed to publish bullish/bearish articles on stocks that are long/short (respectively), providing they disclose their bias. Active investors with "skin in the game" often have some of the most articulate opinions on a stock, and we encourage them to publish their opinions on Seeking Alpha.
If you find a Seeking Alpha article containing a material factual inaccuracy, you can dispute it using the following steps:
Submit a dispute by emailing disputes@seekingalpha.com. Please be sure to include a link to the article under dispute in addition to the above information.
Identify precisely which section of the article you dispute (quoting the text), and provide supporting evidence of your claim that the article is materially wrong.
(Please do not use the dispute process to disagree with the author. Everyone is entitled to his or her opinion about a stock; that's what makes a market.)
In any case, please always feel free to write to us at subscriptions@seekingalpha.com

Doing research for a school paper and in the middle of reading a publish article the site blocks me and requires that I register for an account. They want my email address and require that I sign up for at LEAST 5 stock profiles. I'm in school what do I care about stock profiles. Are they that hard up for cash that they need my email address for sale? Sites that require my email address for school research are untrustworthy in my book.

I used to publish articles regularly on Seeking Alpha. I became very dissatisfied when I saw that they would allow people to post illegal and deceptive research in response to my articles. When I responded and told readers that the posts were illegal, Seeking Alpha put me on moderation. Then I looked and saw that my positive articles were not being put on third party sites such as Yahoo! While SA was putting all the short articles about this stock on these third party sites. When I complained to SA, they just stonewalled me. I believe the editors or owners of the site take positions in the stocks and then favor those authors who express a viewpoint consistent with SA's position in the stock.

This site is a complete joke and let's not only inaccurate information in its articles but also allows it's articles to contain cartoon characters. The publisher appears to pick a dog in the heated exchanges and then deletes and or bans you from the site so that their side is given more press. Stay far away from this site.

Seeking Alpha's rules and regulations allow and sometimes even encourage the publication of misleading and illegal research. The site does not have to disclose whether or not it has a position in stocks that are highlighted in published articles. Anyone with concerns about the site should definitely go to: https://www.change.org/p/israel-securities-authority-impose-oversight-and-controls-on-seeking-alpha-to-prevent-manipulation-of-small-cap-equities

It's frustrating to see Seeking Alpha news articles show up in my finance apps. Their articles are incredibly biased, self serving, and many of the authors credentials are questionable. I wouldn't trust any information from their articles.

Answer: There was only one question in the are of your question: it was do they work in eastern time zone? I'm in the Central time zone and all times reflect my time. Although I didn't see any option to change to Eastern time. If I had to guess, I would think it could set local to members because they got everything else so right.
