Shift4 is the worst service I have been able to hire for my business, throughout this time they have made me debits and even though I send the receipts signed by the clients, they never respond to you, they always say something different, plus their service line is extremely rude and they even hang up on your call, and my losses due to this company add up to almost 3,000 dollars and reading these reviews is a practice they do with many because I see that everyone complains about the same thing. On the contrary, by canceling and refusing to continue paying for such an inefficient service, they call me to charge me, threatening me with collection instead of solving my problems. I am going to file a complaint with the CFPB and since I see cases similar to mine, I would like to invite you to join that complaint so that you can see what practices this company does with many of its clients.

I got a new POS system keeps having network issues between their devices. Tickets wont send & Computers will disconnect at random times. Its hard to get any support from them on the phone or chat. If you send a email you will hear back days or weeks after. Was just on chat waited 15 minutes to someone to join chat only to be left in the chat with a "agent" for 10 minutes without a word from the agent only for him to leave the chat. Now waiting for another agent. Going on 20 minutes wait again. This company is also parent company of Future POS avoid Sky tab or Future POS.

They will keep on charging you even after you stop using their services. Poor customer service. Account managers are no good.

The absolute worst company i've ever worked with. They charged me for equipment I returned months ago TWICE. Put my account in the negatives and still giving me the runaround about returning my money after multiple calls. If you love getting your money taken or withheld for THEIR mistakes and hearing another 3-5 business days after 24-48hrs for review every time you call even though you've been told the problem was resolved then this company is for you. Can't wait to deal with them to terminate my contract when it ends seeing as there's reviews of that mess as well. Just go with someone else please. Wish i saw these reviews before going with them…..

Trash PMS system and horrible customer service. And if you would like to lose every chargeback, then Shift 4 is perfect for you. They literally do NOT have your back. We have now lost $10,273.19 just for no-show reservations in the last three months. Customers sign hotel folios and IDs are scanned upon check-in. Shift 4 still gives back their money and does NOTHING to protect the hotels.
Stay far away from these crooks.

Shift4 bought out our restaurants original POS system, pinnacle. We have had nothing but problems since that has happened. Our credit card machines never went down before only on rare occasions. Ever since shift4 took over they go down ever week. It went down for over a hour on Sunday. Today it was an absolute nightmare to work with this system. Every ten minutes (sometimes every 5 mins, I really wish I was joking) the screen locks saying that they are updating the system and that it's a major malfunction and some checks might be lost. It then locked us out of two checks saying the CC is busy. They ultimately erased 1400 in closed checks just to resolve this problem. The restaurant can easily do a quarter of a million ever week and to constantly have these problems with shift4 is unacceptable. Pinnacle was a way better company they should have never sold to Shift4 because the quality of product they produce now I trash. Once or twice is fine every few months but the system going down every week is bad business. I would not recommend shift4 to any company. This is coming from 30plus years in the industry.

Do not use this company for absolutely ANYTHING! I canceled my services with them in January 2022 and I am still be charged. The customer service is a joke and so is upper management. I haven't had a credit card processed with them since October 2021! So please tell me what I'm being charged for. They are an absolute scam! I also plan to take legal action against them..

Same as all the other reviews. Very poor customer services, yes reps are nice. Too bad their company doesn't give proper resources to handle issues. Takes sometimes an hour just to get through. If you do the callback, they never call back. Yes -never… we moved and discontinued using as of mid January 2023 but we're told contract through 3/25. Fees for inactivity $75 plus monthly fee for software and equipment lease $89+, plus a minimum processing fee $25 plus fluctuating fees they could not explain that we're a difference of almost $20+ between 2 statements. BEWARE Surprise fees!. They took away ability to export our customer list ¬ed info A MONTH before transitioning to another pos company. The soft ears is antiquated. Had to,jump through hoops to cancel service! Based on reviews we WILL be watching and better not continue to be billed or our lawyers will be calling,. Don't have much faith in company ar all

I have used Shift 4 for going on 5 years. My system still does not work right - I call over and over wait on the phone for 40 minutes or more each time - the person who answers can never help you - they have to transfer you - then the person at the end still cannot help you and says they will call back - they dont - they never get you fixed completley - theres no accountability as noone can give you their names - This is a terrible company - I will be dropping them as soon as I can. DO NOT USE THEM GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! - Please cue the automatic response of - talk to our chat bot to help you. Noone is trained properly - even their techs are garbage. The CEO should be ashamed.

The absolute worst experience with a company! I closed my business on Oct. 31,2022 with my last transaction posting on November 2. I have called and emailed numerous times to cancel and Shift4 just keeps billing me month after month and sending me cancellation ticket numbers. They offer no resolution, they lie to my face and just keep billing. STAY AWAY FROM SHIFT4!

This company is absolutely the biggest scammers in the industry. Bad customers service every month he collects different amounts front my business account. My contract I canceled the first month I received the equipment I sent the equipment back to the company. 8 month collects money from my bank bad company.

Shift4 took over another payment system I'd signed up for years ago and never used. I signed up for a system that charged a minimal % fee per transaction, because I do very few transactions per year. When Shift4 took over they, without my knowledge or consent, started charging me a monthly fee and did so for years before I noticed it. When I finally requested a cancellation and refund they said they can only refund the last three months. THIS COMPANY LITERALLY TOOK MONEY FROM MY ACCOUNT EVERY MONTH FOR YEARS WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE OR CONSENT AND REFUSED TO RETURN IT. THESE ARE SOME OF THE MOST UNETHICAL UNCONSCIONABLE BUSINESS PRACTICES I'VE EVER EXPERIENCED.

I tried to close an account that they fraudulently opened under my identity and they refused to unless I gave them my social security number, I told them I will be raising this issue with all pertinent authorities and then they hung up on me.

Quite Possibly the worst POS company in the world. Never once in the three years I was forced to do business with this company did I have a positive experience.
I was a FuturePOS user and when Shift4 Purchased the company it all went bad.
Steve Pritchard (VP Sales) would simply lie to you when ever approached about something wrong. Once it got so bad I left a review and they attempted to bribe me to take the review down...
When my POSContract was finally over they kept charging me saying they changed their contracts to be auto renewing and therefore I was stuck! When I asked about being notified about this change they said I could find the information on their website?

You can never get a hold of the right department they transfer you repeatedly, no one ever knows what department are supposed to speak to. I have been waiting for 2 months to have my equipment transferred to a new business location and I can never get a hold of the correct people. After constant emails I have been once again waiting 4 days for someone to get back to me and no response,, AND IN THE MEANTIME BEING CHARGED INACTIVE FEES that nowhere does that say in the contract. Also have been waiting since October for risk to unlock my admin account because I put the wrong password and I cannot update anything even through the online portal until they do so! No training whatsoever on the system! The first woman who did the initial set up did not speak English well could not communicate with me and knew absolutely nothing about how the system works! Also, they will not send somebody out to train you the most treating you can get is if you can get someone on the phone and they can walk you through it.

Their POS system and staff is still under testing and hence support is pathetic, don't get it even if it is offered free. It would take 1 hour to get some one on call and then the guy would say I am from Harbour touch let me transfer you to skyTab technician, that would be another hour and if you get disconnected you would start all over again. When the technician comes on phone they would not know anything as they are still exploring and learning the system

This company will sell you the equipment and hide fees. They won't tell you they will charge a yearly fee of 180 dollars and eveytime you call they won't fix your issue. I finally got to get a refund and I never got it, when I called back the said they decided I won't get it. They customer service is no help at all. I signed on novemember 2021 and did not get machine until april and they were still charging me that time. Do not sig uo for this company. Meridian Star is the one selling it.
