Require a signature to cancel and keep on debiting the account until they get one. Wish they would make their money by providing good service as opposed to barriers to exit. My ask is phone cancellation or online cancellation.
Get your account set up with them and you are on the hook for the life they will keep charging your business the monthly fees if you don't believe me look up all the complaints on BBB.

This company is absloutley thr biggest scammers in thr industry. The digged into my business bank account for 4 months when I figured it out it was almost 6k.when I brought it up I'm at fault yes I was to blame for them stealing mu money 2 I never saw the 500 sign bounce. 3 I sold the business and they still billing me and I'm in collections now.suing those mofos. Run

THEY DEBIT MONEY OUT OF AN OLD BANK ACCOUNT EVEN THOUGH THEY DEPOSIT MONEY INTO THE CORRECT ACCOUNT. I GET OVERDRAFT FEES EVERY MONTH BECAUSE OF THIS. BEEN TRYING TO FIX THIS FOR 11 MONTHS NOW.

This company has been used by my company for many years now & solely out of lack of time to build a new site is reason for staying... In general as long as you have no needs for issues that come up then the site is a basic site... But When you have a real issue that needs resolving especially when it is a glitch on their end well expect the run around and no department speaks to another and each blames the other... Also don't make the mistake of letting them be your processor to save money on the site because as soon as there is issue holy hell... even when proven to be their fault and cost you the client money they cannot possibly own the mistake and make it right... they drown you in a see of hold times, ticket numbers, well call you back within 24/48hr (aka: not at all) I am now finally having to make the change and will have to speak with litigation about recouping funds provably lost due to their system glitches
Please note I have been a client for several years so this is not taken lightly and while I am pissed at this point, this review is not written to just bash a company it is written because if I can help one person not have this frustration then I have done a good service
We started with this company they process almost $1 million and they froze our money and will not give it back to us be very careful if you use this company as a vendor

Horrible fraud protection despite their claims to have "industry leading" protection. September 2021 I had an attempted fraudulent purchase that I easily identified the wrong ZIP code on the billing address and other details didn't look right. I declined the charge based on my discussion with Customer Service, but in October they took $309.99 from my business bank account as a "chargeback" for the sale that I was never paid for in the first place. November they said my chargeback was reversed in my favor but they were holding my money until April 2022. It's now late May 2022 and I still don't have my money. Emails go unanswered and phone calls get me empty promises. I've wasted so much time on hold and being bounced around to different departments who either transfer me somewhere else or promise to resolve the issue without actually doing anything. I'm now using Zyro for my website host and Fortis for credit card processing and couldn't be happier. I'm paying a bit more, but I'm not wasting hours of time like I had to with Shift4Shop. I recommend you avoid this company at all cost.

Beware before you sign up with them, for any reasons in the future you have to stop the services, you are going to be charged arms and legs and they take the money from your account, I will not recommend their credit card processing and it is a very big procedure when you close the account

The customer service and deposits
I have been trying to get help with deposits and merchant numbers for 3 months. It has been an accounting nightmare to try and reconcile what we took in to what is deposited. I am now 3 months behind on reconciling because of the lack of service. I have called several times a week with no resolution. The worst is I spent 4 hours on a phone call and 3hr and 45 minutes of that was on hold after I told them my issue. No resolution, they created yet another case with no call or response. It has not been over a week since my last case was opened and still nothing. I would recommend anyone but Shift4
Used to be a decent, if not great, company. They were neutral, meaning that you had any number of credit card processing options. Not so since they became Shift4 Payments. Now if you dont use them for card processing, they hit you with HUNDREDS of extra $$$ per month!
Our Gateway Only pricing has not changed since before the acquisition. Could you please provide more detail?
Beware, if you give them money before setting up your gateway and listen to their wonderful promises and something goes wrong on the install... you WILL NOT get your money back. Poor communication. Arrogant. Out of Date. Bad business practices, just bad bad bad.
Answer: Impossible... not going to happen... do you have 4 hours of your work day to be on hold?... impossible.
