Really great site, quality is usually good. However video calls are not as good as on facetime. I will continue to use.

With the advancement of technology it is now possible to communicate with people across the world over the internet in an efficient and reliable manner. Gone are those days when we had to worry about the call bills rising per minute during an international call.

Thank you for inventing skype. The skype and social networks helped me finding relatives which I hadn't seen before in my life. And most of all it's free :)

I bought a Skype number. Sometimes it does not work. That's why I did not continue using it. I had a contract for 3 months, but after that they automatically charged me for another 3 months. They will charge you automatically until you go to their website, and terminate your contract.

I love Skype, it's the best thing that ever happened to Internet! Only too bad the design keeps changing.

Don't even hesitate to use Skype. One of the most reliable for video chatting and free long distance, who doesn't love that. I've enjoyed their service immensely.

When you're in a long distance relationship- it's an essential. Thanks to Skype, my boyfriend and I can do everything from cook together to playing online scrabble. It's been a godsend while he's been three hours away!
Video quality is relatively poor- but it honestly doesn't bother me.

Very convenient internet program that can make calls for free. A lot of review here and in reviewsofwebsites.com tells good and positive things about skype. Its very helpful to those people who have families abroad, they can connect using skype voice calls or video calls.

I've been having trouble with Skype dying on me all of a sudden recently.

I have a bunch of friends in australia and new zealand that i keep in touch with voice-wise via skype. It saves a ton of loney and is pretty reliable. I wish the pay plans were simply freee but i cant reaalllly expect that. My only real complaint is that the signal goes out once in a while.

I wish I could give a higher rating, but I feel after every release, Skype is getting worse and worse. Granted I use it, and it's great for what I need, but when you start bloating it with ads everywhere, and limiting GUI options and the interface, it becomes very frustrating. The PC version is ok, but the OSX version is horrid. Skype 2.0 was the golden version. Once they went 5.0, it started getting bad.

I remember a story a friend of mine once told me - he attended a semiar on web developement and the company wanted investment do develope new websites.

He came away from that and said to me 'talking over computers, that will never take off!'

I sometimes have serious lag when I talk to my friends in Malaysia.
As for the video option, can't really say anything, since I don't even own a webcam.

Skype is a great instant messenger to keep in contact with friends. It has better video quality then other instant messengers, e.g. Yahoo and MSN. The problem with Skype however is that in recent times it keeps going down and can be down for up to hours.
