The service is already a high monthly payment but yet you get no information unless you pay more. Cancel and they still charge your bank. Write to them and they won't refund. Now i have to change my bank account number. Stay away! Use another service.

After purchasing a $0.95 report, they later charged a recurring subscription without any notification or authorization. When asked why I was charged, the Spokeo representative said that I had agreed to a trial subscription that automatically converted to a permanent subscription unless cancelled. Of course that was totally done without any informed consent. Thankfully I was paying attention to the account that was charged.

Spokeo's attempt to blame me for not complying with an agreement to which I never agreed is absurd revisionist history that validates the original title of my review.
And yes Spokeo, I removed the subscription and had the funds restored to my account. Glad that you have no record...if that's even true?

Purchased a report for a number because they said the contact information was included. Received the report which contained nothing in it and then they gave excuses why nothing was in it. Instead of admitting beforehand they had nothing, the company purposefully lies to people to get their money and gives blanket reports.

I abandoned Truthfinder when I found out that they had been hacked. I read good reviews about Spokeo, and they were cheaper, so I thought I would try a free trial. Well, Spokeo seemed to be very accurate with middle names and initials, so I was encouraged. But so many of the addresses were so out of date on people's information, compared to what I knew in real time, that I decided that Spokeo was not going to work for me, anyway. Does anyone know of a site that is more solid with accurate information that doesn't cost an arm and a leg...?

2 years ago I must have signed up for a one time use or trial. Today I realized I have been billed for 24 months, which is $598! In the last 2 years I have never used their services. A company who continues to charge you even though someone does not use their services means shady business! I needed to do a look up and paid the one time fee, even though the site says it is free. I never authorized any other charges and the my account was charged $24.95 a month for 2 months until I caught it. Price is not only excessive for monthly rate, but as I said to charge for something I never authorized amounts to fraud. When I called to cancel they didn't offier to refund. Reporting to my bank as fraud.

Worthless phone numbers, emails returned as non-existent.95 cent charge grew to $29.95 for an unwanted SUBSCRIPTION? REALLY? I called and cancelled the unwanted subscription but had only $11 dollars and change returned. So, that was roughly $20 for totally WORTHLESS information. It's really a shame they charge for information they DO NOT HAVE. For information that is way incorrect. I was trying to find out about death of a friend, not there, couldn't get my money back. That's just cruel.

Answer: Watch for the $20 charge at the end of the month. They say a person is out, then the charge comes a month later. Had to cancel my card and get new # to keep them out of my wallet.
Answer: Three alternatives: 1) Logon with you old Spokeo account and contact customer support. 2) If you can't remember your old logon, 2.1) try a google search to find Spokeo customer service link or telephone number. 2.2) Spokeo has notes on some reviews. Maybe they have included their support number or link? 3) Call Visa and ask them to kill the Spokeo charges to your Visa account.
Answer: Not that I know of but they're slick the moment you put your card info in it saves and if you use something that takes payment they'll charge the card without asking.

Answer: I cancelled Spokeo service due to selling me misinformation or inaccurate information. I got this in writing from David at Spokeo. They are good about sending a letter about we are sorry about not meeting your expectations. Our terms of use states we can do this blah blah blah. After I cancelled this subscription and got this in writing from David, I got a new debit card from my bank. Spokeo found the NEW CARD and charged it. I took the problem to my bank and got a credit. Be very careful of these people, watch your bank statements.
