This is so sad. I am a returning customer and I signed up again to give these losers a chance. After many attempts to beg them to have someone from customer support or onboarding call me, no one cares and no one even found the time to call me. I guess they have been "working" from home. Save your time with these people.

Don't put your money here if you ever need to move it! They NEVER get back to you, dropped calls, wrong info. My mom had a small IRA to divide upon her death. 9 months later it is still sitting with them. Mind you, they continue to take their monthly fees while it sits waiting for them to process...

Before schwab these guys were class a perfect. The few times I had an issue in 20 years it turned out to be my fault or I was incorrect. That's the kind of folks you want handling your money. 180 degree turn in the last few months. I manage and had approx 10 accts for my immediate family. Custodial accts for kids, Roths for kids, wife and myself iras, and our general brokerage accts. All were linked for years to my main account and boom scwab says new rules and yanked access. For 6 months I've been on the phone with these guys over 6 hours, sent in forms, fax, mail, secure portal multiple times and still can't get access to all. Moving accounts to a competent broker as something strange is going on with these guys.

Horrible almost dishonest maze to navigate-
Horrible maze to navigate- so so people but monster system --They decided i no longer existed and sent my stock worth over $2,000 to the state lost property division. They admitted they did not even send a registered letter to see if I existed.I finally realized it is not worth any income they could offer to put up with them-- it will take weeks to get my money back - but then i will never be back

Gone Downhill BIGTIME!
January 20, 2023

I have (will be HAD) been with Ameritrade for over 20 years (before the "TD" was added) and they had been a pretty good organization but the last couple years they have gotten so bad that I had to move both my regular and retirement accounts out to do MANY multiple different stories from their representatives, then they try to hide behind excuses why they disseminated the wrong information or tried to say I misread their responses, only to be called on the carpet for having it happen SEVERAL times, one time costing me a couple thousand dollars in incorrect info. Regarding converting an account. When they were "caught" with the mistakes after trying to deny them, I got a simple "sorry" but we can't make it up to you in any way. What a waste of 24 YEARS! There too many better options out there that will actually TRY to give you correct information in helping you invest

These people are unethical, politically driven monsters who will rape you of your money without warning within seconds. They only care about covering their own asses and will lie their heads off after they do so. They don't have to follow federal or FINRA guidelines and are given carte blanche to destroy people intentionally. Do not, I repeat, do not go to FINRA for anything. Do not go to a FINRA arbitration. The system is 100%, indisputably rigged. FINRA is not there to protect consumers. They are there to protect the brokerages and keep the table tilted. TURN AND RUN FROM TD AMERITRADE AND FINRA IF YOU VALUE YOUR HARD-EARNED MONEY. THESE PEOPLE ARE MONSTERS AND HAVE ZERO CONSCIENCE ABOUT PUTTING PEOPLE THROUGH LIVING HELL.

They recently shorted me on a dividend. I have proof of this, but company too greedy to pay what they owe. You should look elsewhere for an honest stock broker.

Finally won them
June 30, 2022

If it hadn't been for support from winconsultants, ltd that assisted me when this broker deleted my account with over 137k in it, submitted various documents and they did not respond after that. But winconsultants, ltd came into the picture and I was able to win and get my account back. Made withdrawals immediately.

I used to love this brokerage, but lately they've gone downhill--steeply! Lately I'm having all kinds of problems moving money in and out of my account, including paying bills and completely. Now I have to call all the time, and when I finally do get someone on the phone, they're some snotty kid whose big MBA dreams didn't work out and they always try to end the conversation with "we're a brokerage, not a bank!" Well, you seem to forget one THING! It's MY MONEY and it DOES WHAT I SAY! If you don't want to be a "bank," then stop offering the same services that a bank does! And, I several accounts stretching to seven figures--but I can't do a simple transfer or bill pay because "you haven't traded that money yet." Well, guess what? If this place won't do simple things with my money, then they really don't need ANY of my money! This was never a problem until lately, so why it is now, I have no idea! So, this place needs to keep up with the "we're a brokerage, not a bank!" line until they're neither and just a sad memory in the annals of fiscal history.

Used TD for 10 years
February 13, 2022

I have used TD AMERITRADE for 10 years now but I do not like how they manipulate the options sometimes making you lose some money. They are and gotten more strict on trading options on Fridays. I think their platform is good to use for options trading but the customer service is horrific. Have to wait several hours at times. Overall 3/5 mostly pro for their platform and overall the hold time to speak to anyone is too long.

Excessive fees
December 23, 2021

If they want to offer accounts with no fee to draw in small investors fee structure should match. You can't charge a reorganization fee of $38.00 on a stock total value of pennies or a couple dollars that is excessive and frankly shows they don't care about the customer. Now that they are owned by Schwab their customer service takes twice as long.

As good as it gets...
November 22, 2021

I've used the TDAmeritrade website for about 15 years... even before the original company, Ameritrade, acquired TD Waterhouse. I've never been disappointed.
They support my retirement accounts and my regular "trading" account. The website is ultra user friendly and all postings seem to be instantaneous. Their charts, history, cost basis, etc. tabs allow me a plethora of information regarding my investments. Currently operating with a "no fee" policy for my manual trades on their site, it's as good as anyone can expect... in my opinion, of course.
Whenever I have a question, a simple phone call to their 800 # is quickly directed to a real live human being who usually has an answer in just a few seconds. If not, the rep puts me on a short hold, inquires of a more knowledgeable source, and returns with the answer.
I'd recommend this investment company and their website to any of my very best and close friends... if they asked me.

We moved an IRA from Discover Bank to TD Ameritrade in 2020, I configured the on-line account so our statements would be emailed and not paper mailed to minimize potential security problems if a mailed paper statement was accidentally delivered to the wrong address.

Regardless that I configured our on-line account correctly, we still receive paper statements.

I spoke with two first-line TD Ameritrade representatives on: 3/12/21,4/13/21, each time after I received the paper statements. Both representatives promised to resolve but they did not.

On 5/19/21, I spoke with Matthew Slamp, Supervisor, who promised to resolve, and to email me by 5/21/21 with a status update for a resolution, which he never did.

On 6/8/21 I received another paper statement.

I Googled the corporate office for a corporate phone number to escalate this issue to corporate, but the number in their website *******856 tells the caller to call their 1-800 number.

I called their 1-800 number and asked to speak with someone from corporate HQ, I was forwarded to "Austin" ext # ******* who does ‘not' work for corporate HQ. I then asked Austin to forward me to someone in their corporate HQ, I was forwarded to "Hestor (Hector?) Hurst", Client Supervisor, who told me he did not work in corporate either. When I asked Mr. Hurst to forward me to corporate he refused.

I am not certain why I should maintain any accounts with TD Ameritrade after 1) not being able to have statements emailed to me, 2) engaging with representatives who make false promises, 3) engaging with representatives who do not follow up with customer issues, 4) engaging with representatives who refuse to allow customers to escalate legitimate concerns to corporate.

I liked TD Ameritrade until they doubled my trade. I bought 2000 shares of a security, sold it a few minutes later after reaping profits (and the price had just started dropping), and a minute later (unbeknownst to me) they submitted a duplicate buy order.

I noticed that my day gain, which WAS green, was rapidly becoming very red. I quickly looked at my open positions and realized that I somehow had 2000 shares remaining. "WTF?! I only bought 2000, which I just sold!" To stop the hemorrhage, I hastily sold these remaining shares, at a $2500 loss, and looked at my transaction history. I then discovered what happened.

I called them and, after 90 minutes on hold, I spent another hour trying to get them to fix THEIR screwup, but they refused to admit fault. When I politely told the supervisor that this was unacceptable and that I will find a different broker, he hung up on me.
