Like many reviewers said, they lock you into a year contract because they know for a fact nobody would make it past month 3. Insane to pay over 250 bucks a month for a "listing" on a website very few people use anymore. I literally get more page clicks from google and google my business in a single day then i did from them in 6 months. But like me, plenty of people are desperate and fall for their incredibly well done sales pitch. The salesperson straight up lied his $#*! off on how we were ranking on google. He quickly diverted when i called him out. When you seem to be on the fence on whether to sign the contract or not they hit with the age old, "Oh we can't squeeze you in this month anyways we are full but i'll call my supervisor and see if we could make it happen" Yeah, i feel so dumb falling for that. When you complain to them they do pretend to be apologetic and will offer premium "upgrades" to your listing for free. Spend your money on a website or literally on anything else instead. I will say, the WebTrax tool is pretty interesting, but doesn't really result in any sales. The only thing ThomasNet is used for anymore is companies using it to solicit YOU and contacting YOU to sell you something. Please, dont give these snake oil salesmen a single dollar. They are riding a sinking ship and milking it as long as possible. Just look at the google trends search data for them.
We paid them for a "year" advertising, website redesign, and SEO. After 4 months we had a new website, but the number of actual customers contacting us through our site is down over 75%? Our company has had a website for over 10 years and our inquires have cratered since Thomasnet has taken over. Now we are told the contract is for 18 months and we are still paying.
This company front loads all of their work, which is basically only building a website that can be done for a fraction of the price other places, and then coasts for the next 12-14 months. It has been a massive expense for our company with little or nothing to show for it. Huge mistake.
I think this is my first time ever writing a negative review for a company, because it was that bad.
I recently finished a 12-month advertising period with them and have nothing to show for it.
They also offer website services which I unfortunately used and it was a nightmare. Process was supposed to take 4 months, but it ended up taking 12. The website was so poorly done. Our blog page didn't even work after going live. Once they fixed that, we literally had a blog post on our website that was for some other company. They didn't catch those glaring mistakes and others during pre-launch or post-launch QC somehow.
Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention and we appreciate the feedback on your experience. We aim to complete our website builds within four months, though we often find that clients need more time as other business priorities pop up and deliverables get delayed. Unfortunately that appears to be what happened in your particular case. If you believe you are still missing promised deliverables or feel there is an action we can take to improve upon what was created, please reach out to us at this address:

Been a member many years. Not a manufacturer so don't use much. But it gets better and better. Good for prospecting for manufacturing leads.
I am Abby with All American Freight brokers. I am working on "Thomasnet" from couple of months and was able to get suppliers and manufacturers in my contact. The best thing which I love about this platform is I can search companies by applying filters like regions and product, which eventually lead me to my desired customers. I wish, in the future, may this platform have access to more data which in turn will be helpful to its users.
I recently attended your intro webinar and it was informative and helpful. I am looking forward to effectively utilizing the product.
The site has a large amount of information on several companies. They list the companies size, sales, products, as well as contact information. The site also has a robust search feature to filter out, or in, to find a specific company with certain criteria. Their customer service is top notch. They have customer service to field general questions about the site, but also have engineers and quality technicians to answer any technical questions about materials, standards, products, processes, and anything else. Very helpful!
I was originally lost on ThomasNet.com, there are so many companies and items to search through. I like the idea and knew it could be a valuable resource if I could figure out how to use it. Cathy Ma did a free webinar explaining everything I needed to know and really set me on a track of success to get linked up with the companies that could take our company to the next level. Thank you!
Great search engine for finding and sourcing U.S. suppliers. Easy to navigate and encompasses a lot of supplier information.
Pretty useful webinar. As expected, highly focused on using Thomas Net specifically, but there were some more broadly useful tidbits. Have to reduce a star due to the (as of yet unresolved) mess around trying to get my Nikes.
I really appreciate the different ways to filter for suppliers - we have been using Thomasnet to better understand our target audience.
I found this webinar helpful, it will help me to find vendors to purchase new test equipment at my company.
As a SCM for a start-up company, adding new items (and vendors) to our customer offerings is a big part of my job, and having a resource like ThomasNet is awesome!
ThomasNet Team.
I've been using ThomasNet for decades in numerous supply chain roles with different companies.
Motorola, Nippon Sharyo, Sumitomo, Chamberlain and now Dayco to name a few.
ThomasNet continues to be an excellent resource and experience every time. The site is user friendly with plenty of tools at your disposal. I especially like the one click RFI feature, which sends my request to 5 suppliers at once.
Thank you,
Oscar
I recently attended a virtual webinar hosted by ThomasNet. The webinar's host (Cathy) did a great job in presenting Thomas really well in explaining how to use the website. Every time my boss asks me to source something, I go to ThomasNet first.
Thank you for giving the buyers industry such a valuable tool.
Thomas.net is an extraordinary website, and helps you easily navigate through the many list of companies and their contact info. As a broker, this is very helpful because you can research companies in your area, as well as your niche. Thank you Thomas.net, for this platform! It's very helpful.
We have found some good manufacturers and have established relationships. It is a good resource for raw materials, etc. However, some of the manufacturers who are "Thomas Certified" should be "certified" to shut their doors due to malfeasance. We have first hand experience of dealing with a few of these companies that should only be certified to cease and desist. My guess is that these companies are "certified" because they paid, not because they deserve to be. I agree that at least half of the manufacturers answer inquiries. We do enjoy the daily industry updates.
The pros are that it's the most comprehensive site I've found that lists many manufacturers and suppliers for many types of markets. The issue I had is that many times when I'd reach out for quotes or inquiries from the manufacturers I wouldn't get a response. That's more on the individual manufacturers though.
Searching the site is easy and straightforward.
I am new to finding suppliers and ThomasNet helps me narrow down people making great products right here in the USA. I love Made in the USA stuff if I am going to put my logo on it. I have also attended a couple ZOOMs seeing how to use the Thomas Site better, I recommend this because the people are down to earth and make it a better experience to use their site. I'm new and I feel lucky to have found ThomasNet, my Facebook group for entrepreneurs recommended it to me.
In today's fast moving manufacturing settings, it's not always possible to get the best price due to time constraints when needing supplies and specialty products. That is until I found ThomasNet! Thanks to them I can research pricing and companies all in one spot without the hassle of a deep search of the internet to make sure we are purchasing the right product from the right suppliers. I often recommend ThomasNet when asked where to search for supplies efficiently.
