Torrid has really cute items, but the issue is the quality is terrible. I have had four tops fall apart on my in less than 1 month of use in the last 1-3 years. I generally tend to wear loose as I'm self-conscious and don't want ever roll/dimple/etc. Showing, so my clothes aren't being pushed to their limits, yet the seams keep ripping or coming undone (even in areas where the fabric isn't pulling at all). They seem to not handle the wash cycle well at all because they're so poorly constructed. I'm done purchasing from here, and just buy from Lane Bryant. The quality there, though still not fantastic, is much better than Torrid. Such a shame.
Purchased jeans a size smaller and they still stretched so much wearing it once. Washed them in hopes they may shrink a bit, and they still stretched so much wearing them. I called to see to explain the situation, that their jeans stretch two sizes and I just wanted an even exchange for a size smaller. They refused because I wore them already! But that WAS the problem. I wore them and they were FALLING OFF me! HORRIBLE COMPANY! POOR QUALITY CLOTHES. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. Shop elsewhere!
I bought size 9.5 extra wide calf and per Torrid chart it says19.5. The first pair was 23 inches. I returned them and got pair #2 which is also 23 inches. I even thought that they shipped me the same pair back. These was so big they fell right off my calf. My calf is 20 inches. I returned pair #2 and this time got just the wide width 9.5 boot size. The chart this time says 17.5 inches. AGAIN THE CALF MEASURED 23 and I Measured the boot calf in the store. This is false marketing to say. Calf size is 17.5 and 19.5 but all the boots are 23 inches. Please change the description online and stop giving false information. I loved Torrid and bought many pieces. I bought a couple of outfits to go with those boots and now NO BOOTS!
Ordered a dress a month ago and when it arrived it was the wrong type, color and size. I called customer service and the lady I spoke to was really nice and said she would resubmit my order. I waited another 2 weeks and when I got my package this time it was the right dress but 3 sizes too big. I called customer service once more and this time the lady told me tough luck since the dress was now no longer in stock. I asked for a refund and told her I would send the packages back but the call dropped or she hung up on me. That's when I decided to give up.
Bought two items from the website, I have been trying to return them for weeks. The items didn't fit and were butt ugly. I have been trying to return them for three weeks. I started the return online and was told to print the packing slip. The link took me directly to the website and I was unable to print a packing slip from there. I have made multiple phone calls to them. I called and was promised a packing slip and a shipping label. I have spent approximately 2 1/2 hours on the phone and was finally told today that unless I was a VIP member I wouldn't get those things. Although the reps and the supervisor were very pleasant, I would never, ever, purchase any product from them. Horrible experience.
Isn't Torrids a big girl store?! Every time you all get a new clothes line you have skinny models modeling?
Torrid has customer service that can't resolve anything no matter how hard you try. I haven't received refunds in multiple orders and it's made me cancel my credit card. I notice a pattern with them, if an item is actually on sale they cancel the order or it never ships. If you try to rebuy that item for full price it ships immediately. They deserve to go under as a company because they are shady. All my orders from the last 2 months were canceled.
I've spent alot of money this past year at torrid. Almost everything I bought is falling apart. You pay 30 to 40 bucks for a shirt and after 1 wash its faded and has strings coming out all over. I feel robbed to be honest. And I wouldn't even have left this review but they gave me a birthday reward and a bra reward and they cancelled my order and they do not answer emails in a timely manner. When they did finally email me it did not even make sense, they didnt answer my questions or say what happened at all. I bought a pair of black Jean's that came with that funky smell from the dye. I've only ever smelled that on cheap clothes but they charged me 60$ for them. Lol. I just cant believe they out here robbing big girls like this. Because they got cute clothes, big deal. Walmart has way better quality then torrid.
Long time, loyal customer. I've spent thousands in stores around the US. Even more online. And my last experience has been completely different and terrible. I don't know if they have new owners, new direction for the company, or what, but it's a complete $#*! show. Ordered stuff online, some for pick up- received an email that my order was ready to be picked up from the store, drove an hour to the store, to pick up the gift I bought for a bridal shower that afternoon. They didn't have the order at all. For the stuff coming to my house, Only 1 of my 8 things have arrived. The rest all shows as "shipped" which was shipped prior to what actually came. No tracking number. Contacting customer service is a complete joke and waste of time. Yes their clothes are super cute. Yes they are made to fit plus size, curvy girls perfectly. However, it's all cheaply made stuff that they charge way too damn much money for. Which I was fine with, until now when I have hundreds of dollars worth of stuff in limbo somewhere, and no one can answer to where it is. Extremely disappointed.
I place an order for pick up in store on July 24 and it's August 22 now and my order is still processing wth. They already took my money. When my order comes, if I don't like it, I'm going to return it and get my money back.
Returned a pair of rain boots never worn, two days after receiving them in the mail to a local store. They were not on clearance. Store sale clerk gave me $5.64 refund for a pair of boots I paid $32.89 for. Refuses to make the correct adjustment. Told me I had to pass their inability to correct a mistake to my credit card company. The only way to get a full refund is to dispute the charges with the credit card company. I fell like i have been robbed. If Torrid really needs to keep the $27.25 owed to me. They can. But that just makes them a low down company.
I absolutely love this store with all of my heart as a big girl it is nice to be able to fit into clothes without trying hard lo BUT thr clothes are not only expensive but extremely cheaply made! I have 5 dresses from torrid and each and every one of them has either torn at the strap and had to be re-sewn or they are starting to tear at the strap and will eventually have to be re-sewn and that's really frustrating. I should not not have to spend $70 on a dress that's just going to break and look silly that has got to be fixed
I used to love doing business with Torrid. They have recently changed some items with website credit card billing and everything has gone to pot. My orders will get randomly cancelled with no notice to me. Customer service is rude and tries to blame problems on the customer. I used to have a smooth and good and simple online experience shopping with Torrid as a VIP. Now their shipping takes forever, and they have screwed up their online shopping to the point where, after spending many dollars with them, I no longer evemn want to do business with them.
I ordered over $800 worth of clothing on 6/15 to be shipped to the store. I'm going on vacation 8/1. Today is 7/11 and my order is still not there. That's 4 days short of a month. On the website my order status is "in process" with no shipping links or anything. Maybe they thought I'd forget about it. I called the store three times but they didn't answer their phone, so I had to do online chat. When I go to the store, I might just tell them to return everything and refund me because of their piss-poor customer service. This is how you treat a customer that spends that amount of money? This is the first time I've dealt with this company and undoubtedly my last.
I guess they are trying something new and they are making the clothes when you order. After that they then choose the cheapest and most indirect shipping method available. I placed an order on June 15th. It FINALLY shipped on July 5th and the delivery date is July 15th. I live in Oklahoma and it shipped from Ohio. I'd heard with the rising price of gas that the Pony Express was making a comeback.
This is the 4th pair of these pants I bought since the end of April & 3 out of the 4 lost the pocket stitchings! These pants aren't cheap! So at $65 each why is the stitching falling apart?
I do love Torrid, but their shipping system is atrocious. I ordered $242 worth of clothes on June 8, here it is July 2nd and they're still processing my order. I can't get anyone in the local store to verify if my ordered had been delivered because they don't answer their phones, and corporate is just as hard to contact. I'm so disappointed with torrid.
The prices have only gone up and the customer service has gone down. Shipping, order fulfillment, and response time in 2022 is in the GARBAGE. Waited over 3 weeks for my last 2 orders, when they came they were missing items (stolen or cancelled, I've had both.) Current order is at 20 days and no response on shipping. I have been a loyal customer for many years, but Torrid has proven they don't give a crap about their fanbase. Horrible service, horrible shipping, and prices only continue to go up. I'm done.
I've been shopping at Torrid for about four years online. I love their clothes and was a big fan until recently. This was the first time I needed to return something but Torrid makes it impossible to return anything. Unlike other stores who provide the return label on their site, Torrid will give you the runaround and will blame USPS saying it's their responsibility to send the customer a return label after the return starts. Why? What store relies on the postal service to send their customers labels? They also give you some BS excuse about their supervisor having to sign off on all returns. I waited nearly TWO months for a slip. I emailed numerous times and called and still nothing. I could not get to the store, which is all the way across town nor should I have to. If I wanted to go to the store I wouldn't be shopping online! I cannot believe an online store makes it so hard for people to return but then again, they do this on purpose. They don't want you to be able to make a return or get your money back so they actually are stealing from customers.
I don't care how nice your clothes are. If your customer service STINKS and you purposely make it hard for customers to return things so you can dissuade them not to, that is inexcusable. Just because of their return policy, I am not sure if I will continue shopping there. How can customers shop at a place where they don't trust that they will get their money back if they have to return something?
This isn't the 80s anymore and big women have tons of options when it comes to purchasing clothes now so no one has to put up with Torrid's games. Every other store I've ever shopped from offers the return label ON THE SITE as well as they will email it to you. Torrid is the only one who doesn't do this.
If a store cannot afford to honor returns then they don't need to be in business. It only takes ONE thing, one thing to lose a loyal customer. No matter how much I've enjoyed their clothes, this one situation will be the only thing I associate with them now. And instead of encouraging people to shop here as I have for years, I'll be sure to warn them about this return policy. This needs to be changed IMMEDIATELY. Shame on you, Torrid. So much for being a valued customer. Now I'm stuck with a blouse I can't do anything with except throw away.
I've been a loyal Torrid customer for years. A majority of my clothing comes from Torrid, both work and personal. Lately their shipping and customer service have cone completely down the drain. I placed an order on June 15th, it is now the 28th, and I was finally told today that it wasn't going to ship until July 5th... 20 days AFTER I placed my order. I've sat on the phone on hold for upwards of an hour with no answer. I emailed customer service and didn't hear back for days, and when I finally did, it was just a boiler plate response. Finally got ahold of someone on the chat function today (after waiting 34 minutes for an agent), who confirmed the July 5th ship date. The kicker? I placed ANOTHER order on June 20th that has already shipped and is expected to be delivered in a few days! I cannot for the life of me understand how my order on June 20th shipped before my order on June 15th, and WHY IN THE WORLD it's going to take until July 5th to ship my order?! These are the questions I asked the chat representative, who promptly DISCONNECTED THE CHAT instead of answering me. You better believe they charged me IMMEDIATELY for the clothes I purchased though. Torrid has just lost a loyal VIP customer. Their customer service is sickening and their shipping is pathetic.
Answer: I recently returned an item after waiting more than two weeks for delivery. It took almost a month for them to respond and acknowledge that they received the returned item. I never wore the item (shoes) because they were too small and Torrid only refunded 1/2 of the purchase price. RIP OFF!
Answer: They are the most consistent in sizes that I have found - so depends on what store you are comparing them to and your body shape. I am kind of boxed shape (except for cutting in under the bust I am big everywhere) - they run smaller than Lane Bryant for me - but for my friend who is chest heavy she wears the same sizes at both. In comparison to most regular sized stores I size down - like I am a 4x at Old Navy - a 3x at Torrid.
Answer: It's totally normal, unfortunately. I'm on day 13 now and was told today it would be another 7 days before my order shipped.
Answer: DON'T ORDER SHOES FROM THEM! I recently returned a pair of sandals that did not fit. I returned them the next day and fortunately returned via UPS so I had a tracking number. It took almost a month to get an acknowledgement that they received the return ONLY because I kept sending them the UPS proof of delivery, and then ---- THEY ONLY REFUNDED HALF THE PURCHASE PRICE!
