I've been a member of Upwork since 2016. I've watched it evolve into something different than what it started. It still isn't exactly user-friendly. It isn't friendly to freelancers. It caters to people willing to spend money on the site. They take a lion's share of the profits from each freelancer. Be prepared for what you get when you're dealing with the site. They don't make themselves readily available and if you got a problem it will take you forever to navigate through the site to get results. You likely won't be happy with what you get when you're finished. However, the site has allowed me to connect with some top-notch clients and make a modest living working as a full-time ghostwriter.

I need help in getting back my Upwork account. It has been suspended today without any official email or any notification. I can still reach out to existing clients but can't apply for proposals. This is strange as I didn't commit any violation of the code of conduct. Need urgent help to fix this matter. Thanks in advance

In my opinion Upwork is by far the best platform available for freelancers. I have been on fiverr and freelancer but Upwork is the one I recommend. There are things to be done, and the good thing is Upwork is constantly trying to upgrade it to match with needs of clients as well as freelancers.

Upwork is just life changing opportunity in terms of financial stability not only for the seller but for it's whole family they respect you and always play there role to serve you as much as you can

I have found that Upwork is a complete waste of valuable time as after twice placing a job and ending up with zero freelancers capable of doing the required tasks I gave up. Is there a reliable source for finding freelance web programmer/builders

There can be initial interest in your job posted on Upwork but as is so typical of freelance programmers it seems, their communication skills are often non existent and they subsequently drop off the radar without quoting for the work. How one can deal with this level of ignorance is beyond me as someone trying to start a business and pay out good money for professional help.

The Upwork site is not very unhelpful in my opinion with no facility to draw attention to unprofessional conduct or failures to respond in a coherent and timely manner.

Total waste.

Upwork has hidden charges which will never be informed and they charge you inactive fee which is not fair at all. This way they are scamming a lot of people and steal your money Beware!

Upwork have helped me to jump start my career in this pandemic. Though there were few bumps on the road and few more on the way but I am glad I stuck with Upwork.
It challenges me to continuously improve my skills and add more to my arsenal in order to keep up with the intensely competitive market.
If you are confident in your ability to learn and adapt, this platform is highly recommended.

There are unethical freelancers on upwork who has won the contract and completed 1 work, but the contract was opened still, and the freelancer falsely charged $250 to my account when there was no work request, and he didn't do any work for your account. Then when I filed the dispute for the charge, that freelancer left me a 1 star review saying I abruptly ended the contract and accused me for being unethical. He was contacted for the false transaction on our account, and denied the charge, and after I filed the dispute and won and got the money returned, he falsely accused me of an unethical person and left me a 1 start review. What's worse is that I brought this issue to upwork and asked them to review all messages between me and the freelancer, and they were clearly able to see what happened, but yet, they are keeping those crooked, unethical freelancers on their site. Please be advise if you use upwork, this can happen to you.

If I had one company to take off the face of this Earth, it would be Upwork. Downright, worst service I have ever experienced, both on the client side and freelancer side (and I have been with Upwork since 2009 when it was still Elance) so yeah I have a right to this ACCURATE opinion. They absolutely hate when you form a team of your own on the platform because they see it as competition and a liability to their bottom line (considering teams try to take jobs out of the platform to avoid the fees). Furthermore, there's terrible talent on there - my grandma can perform services better than most the foreign thirsty freelancers on there who can barely speak English and worst of all, there is no AUTOMATION to the service! Luckily, I'm fixing that. Have fun with your new competition, Upwork AKA Hellwork.

Upwork is a great platform for startups and old partners. Our journey with upwork is 15 years old and we are so thankful for Upwork platform to give us this opportunity. It's a very competitive and excellent platform where you have to perform your best to stay on top. If you are a hardworking and honest person then this platform is for you.
For Clients this is a win win platform, they just have to post their job and they will get contractors who will deliver exactly as Client wants the job done.

You need to be very careful about choosing freelancers. The quality might be pretty inconsistent. Also I had a situation when the freelances just went MIA and I ended up wasting a lot of time.
