Vimeo is not bad video hosting, it has a lot of advantages and disadvantages. I used Vimeo for business videos and I can say that It has not enough customization and marketing features for my needs. There are a great number of video hostings on the Internet with its own video analytics which is very necessary for business.
So, if you need video hosting for entertainment or just for fun Vimeo will be perfect. It has intuitive navigation and it's ads free.
A good video hosting in fact, but as for me - it has a lot of unnecessary features and the loading time should be better. Waiting for the service to get better.
I just had a horrible experience with Vimeo. I no longer need a Vimeo Pro account and tried to downgrade to a Vimeo Plus account. A Vimeo Help person offered to help me but only if I opted back into auto-renew of Vimeo Pro for more than $400 per year. After I did what she told me to do, she then sent me a message that someone else would contact me soon. So, I have now decided to let my account expire. I can no longer trust Vimeo, nor should you. Vimeo is a deceitful company. They try to make you upgrade to more expensive plans but don't allow you to downgrade your account. I tried but they only wanted me to renew my Vimeo Pro account, which I no longer need. Vimeo are thieves!
My wedding videographer randomly deleted my wedding trailer. I have contacted him six times over the last month to fix it and he has ignored me. Vimeo refuses to help. How hard is it to fix a broken link? Also, there was no way to save the video on my computer. If there had been, I wouldn't have had to lose sleep for the last month over the inconsideration.
Bought a movie from vimieo. It was crap. Viveo refusesd to allow me leave a review or get a refucnd. $#*! service, $#*! movies. Vimeo is $#*!.
There are obvious 5 star reviews touting vimeo as something better than YouTube. If you read the other reviews it is obvious they are phoney as I've tried vimeo and there's some serious issues.
I often use this video sharing site for my video promotion, but hardly I get traffic on t. Although the video is very enticing and attractive and content oriented. Most of the users are form US or UK. So it seems impossible us to get the real traffic. I am happy with the design and its easy uploading.
This hosting website claims to have business packages, but they don't deliver. It is actually pretty surprising to what degree they don't deliver. For example you can't have your employees log in to the app, you have to give them your own password. That would allow them to delete all videos. They claim that you can have up to 3 users on pro account, BUT what they don't tell you is that those users can only log in on desktop and not their app or mobile devices. The lists of things like this goes on... features that are thought through and are not functional. It is I am sure good for individual use though.
People fail to see how impressive Vimeo is because they compare it to YouTube. How about the fact that it is like the number 2 video streaming service now? And best for cinematographers
My company chose to use Vimeo for hosting our videos, and the first few months using the service was nice. It was easy to upload videos, edit privacy preferences, embed in other sites - seemed perfect for our needs.
Once we started relying more and more on Vimeo, we started seeing critical issues with the Vimeo platform and service. We used embedded Vimeo videos on our company homepage, in advertising landing pages, link to them on social media, and started driving paid traffic to them. What happened next blew our minds.
1. There's some kind of glitch with mobile users on iOS when you're preferences aren't configured currently, people can't view your videos (and with half our traffic coming from iPhones and iPads, this was a HUGE problem). We had to go through hundreds of videos and manually re-configure them to work with iOS, crazy!
2. The service routinely goes down. Not like once or twice a year, but once or twice a month. This means your videos don't work. So all your paid traffic is going to broken pages with a video that doesn't play. Videos are critical to our advertising, and with them not working, we see a substantial dip in sales.
Not sure why they have routine outages each month, sometimes lasting 5-10 mins (during critical business hours). There's never notice or an email explaining why, or how they are working to fix the problem.
We've since started replacing our Vimeo videos with YouTube, since it's more reliable for business needs.
Vimeo Videos are among the nicest and most beautiful I've ever seen. Very easy to handle and make your own videos.
L O V E vimeo:-)
I think vimeo has stand alone as a video sharing platform more focused on cinematographers than on a regular user video platform I think it has greater quality of videos than youtube although is always good to upload your video to both platforms.
A great service but i hate the usability. Doesn't seem to be too user friendly. I keep pressing the wrong buttons and getting somewhere i didn't want to get.
Ok, this is NOT Youtube.com. Still better than Dailymotion.com, in my opinion!
I don't like your site, its all about fans I'm not one. You cant send a comment because your people are too bloody 'precious' and make me sick just F**K **F.
I did buy Vimeo Pro a month ago, paying for the entire year at once.
Since last week, I have not been able to upload any video from any PC or Mac. I have contacted their support team (via email as they don't offer support over the phone) and the only reply I have received is that they will look into it. Since then, nothing!
Very cool video sharing and the browsing experience is very good compared to Youtube
I hate to sund negative, but after several years of trying to watch videos, I've given up on Vimeo. Using several browsers and computers as well, all I see are jerky motioned, graining videos that stop and go--if that much. The audio is horrendous and I'm missing some good videos I know but if someone has any ideas, I'd like to try again.
Answer: I'd check the fine print. Then I'd check again. Then I'd have a backup plan if you're gonna use Vimeo. In case you wake up one morning and you can't access any of your videos.
Answer: I heard that Vimeo is very anti-Semitic, they wanted to make a Jewish co-host lose his job at a pro-peace channel. It's just like another holocaust in my opinion... or even worse, the immigration crisis of Latin Americans going to the US.
