Vimeo took my site down because they decided I should have selected a Premium vs. Pro account. They never contacted me to let me know they decided this, they simply locked me out of my site. They offer no customer service phone option, in order to help them reduce their expenses according to their web site. There is no real time chat option either, just an anonymous email where you get to hope someone will get back to you. 24 hours later my issue is still not resolved. Maybe tomorrow... or whenever they feel like it, they're lack of concern for customers is truly astounding. I really hope competitors see this as a business opportunity - I'd love to see more options for consumers in this space.
Over 100 videos on my commercial account were shut down. No notice. After they had been hosted there for over a year. It took DAYS to even get a response.
Meanwhile my customers were demanding to know why they couldn't see the content they had paid for.
The same content was on Vimeo for over a year. No porn, no gambling, nothing illegal. Just one day waking up to my virtual assistant emailing me with, "Why are NONE of the videos playing?"
That could have cost us 100 of customers if we didn't spend the next 36 hours frantically moving to a more trustworthy company. Their customer service is very hip, nice, until we actually needed them.
Don't waste your time money or effort. Uploads crash more often than not, usually at around 95%-98% after a couple of hours.
I'll never use them again.
Fairly quick uploading. Video processing rate could be quicker. Overall very good video streaming, uploading website.
I think Vimeo is wonderful... especially the way they support emerging artists. I can't recall seeing commercials there, very unlike YouTube which shows you a commercial overtime I click on a different video.
No doubt vimeo is good site! But still i always prefer YouTube searching for videos and music.
Vimeo is a quality YouTube. They focus on quality rather than quantity and it shows!
I downloaded this out of sheer hope that it would play every video on vimeo because SILK simply sucks at it. To my avail it works and I was able to show my project to group members.
Vimeo may not be the worst video site, but it's one of the worst because they don't accept gaming videos. The reject them because they think their videos are mostly gaming videos. Guess what. They're not. And what's unfair is that Machinima videos with a storyline of their own are still acceptable. That's about it.
Whoa! These guys stink! I had a Vimeo account and they deleted all my content, then one year later, decided they would bill me automatically. I'm done with them.
Vimeo is slow to use, and it doesn't offer HD by default unless you pay. It's far behind Youtube where you can upload 10 hour videos, and double HD. Not that I see the reason why, but my point is that we passed the year 2000 about fourteen years ago.
The most annoying thing with Vimeo, is hat you have to wait in that made up line after you uploaded a video. There is no line, and I am not going to pay for something as slow and backwards as Vimeo when Youtube does it better for free.
I find the video quality on here far exceeds that of youtube's. This is definitely the next best thing; everything I have uploaded or watch on here has displayed beautifully.
Pretty good site. They offer more quality videos. YouTube is full of junk and this site is strong on quality versus quantity.
Its like youtube but in high definition. Nice video quality on most posts. Not as many videos as youtube though.
Started as a very good video sharing website. But unfortunately now they changed their strategy. Became just another big corporation that doesn't care about what users tell. They changed their UI design and it's a crap now. I saw many people complaining but their staff just told everyone to Shut Up. We don't do anything about it.
We are a paid user and very much disappointed wit Vimeo.com now.
OH, HOW I LOVE VIMEO! In my opinion, the video quality on it is wayy better than YouTube. Also, it's a great place for you to upload your videos when YouTube is banned from your school, and you have to do a project that involves video!
It also has a clean look to it.
Like this site for watching what people posts. Some very inspirational videos. Great videos but YouTube still owns this area. Vimeo is a good site but just not home. Vimeo fills more professional. More entertaining to me but i got an account and almost forget I have it at times.
