I had to submit it three times and each time it cost me $9.95 service fee a total of $30.00 in service fee for a $12 birth certificate. I would not recommend it to anyone.

If able to give negative stars, I would. Ordered in May. FINALLY received in October after paying twice. It was suggested that I travel from PA to TN to obtain this when it did not arrive the 1st go round.

I paid $38.00 to get a copy of my birth certificate only to notice a error on the form. Someone missed spelled the name of the hospital and just crossed out a letter on the name of the hospital.
They should have prepared another birth certificate form.
The form does not look very professional processed for $38.00 dollars and a long wait time.

On October 22,2025, I ordered my daughters death certificate and chose this service to have it expedited. I did not receive It until October 31,2025. This was not worth the $53.00 and wait time. Very poor service.

While officially contracted by the government, VitalChek is not a governmental processing service itself. They are a private third party data company (literally listed right here on this page as "a LexisNexis Risk Solution Company") to pass along your vital records request to the county/state and doesn't do anything to expedite the actual processing of your order EVEN IF YOU PAY EXPEDITED COSTS. The biggest issue I have is that their website states that your order may be processed a little faster if you pay for their overnight shipping, but that's very much not true and only AFTER I paid did I get the confirmation email immediately estimating an October 7th delivery date. That's almost 3 months out from the date I placed the order! It's been 2 months so far and my order status on their website still says the county is processing my request. So of course, I didn't manage to receive my order in time to get my identification documents processed for my travel plans. Given the result, I should've just submitted by request via snail mail and saved myself the money. I probably would have done so had their website given a proper disclaimer of the 45-60 day estimated timeframe before the final purchase. But they didn't, presumably because profit matters. Buyer beware, AVOID GOING THROUGH THE HEADACHE OF ONLINE ORDERING IF YOU CAN AND SAVE YOURSELF THE MONEY. If you rather get the tracking number from ordering online or if you're ordering from far away, then that's understandable... but just, please don't waste excessive money. To be clear, the processing time is unfortunately what it is. This review is for the deceitful charging of their own inflated service costs and lack of transparency that gets a 1 star from me. I just cannot stand price gouging, especially during a particularly vulnerable time for many people right now during this current federal administration.

Waiting for 2 hours + even used 2 phones also sent emails for them to contact me. Is this company legit?

I don't understand people's positive ratings for this company. They don't answer their customer phone line. Yesterday afternoon I spent 48 minutes on hold until I gave up. I am writing this as I am waiting again. It's been forty minutes on hold so far this morning. I received an email saying: "We have not received the required documentation, so your order has been placed on hold!" Nowhere does the email tell me what documentation I need to send and where to send it to add to my request. So I am having to call them on their customer service line that they won't answer. This seems like a totally bogus operation.

Wasted my time and money on this trash service, said 90-95 days, it's been 100+ days, customer service number is a useless robot

I ordered my long form birth certificate thru VitalCheck and 2 days later I received a phone call from a lady that I didn't know. She had my birth certificate. I tried to call VitalCheck and after being on hold for over 40 minutes, I hung up and called the Health and Senior Services office where my certificate was being shipped from. The guy was horrified and shipped me another copy. I had it by 10 am the next morning. I contacted the stranger who had called me and informed her of what I had done. She called the same person that I had talked to at Health and Senior Services and got her copy that she had ordered also. I hate to think what could have happened if my certificate had gone to someone who wasn't honest. I spent $49.50 to have my birth certificate shipped to the wrong person and then had to spend over an hour on the phone to fix it.

They took twice as long as their maximum timeline quoted, but they make sure to force you to pay for overnight shipping... so they take 3 months to do their part, and then overnight your documents? STUPID. I ordered on 2/28 and UPS delivered the documents the same afternoon they got them based on their mailing sticker... 3 months to the day

It has taken me the better part of 10 years to acquire my birth certificate. It has always been unavailable or no record when contacting the issuing state. I saw their ad on Google and said what the heck it can't hurt. I paid my dues and I was told 4 days I would have it. By goodness 4 days later I had my birth certificate. Best service I've ever used.

It takes so long to receive something important like that. I would recommend for you all to try to improve the process timing.

I have received my order in a timely manner without any delay. The services is excellent and secure.

I ordered my recently deceased son's birth certificate January 20th, it is now April 1st. I have called and wait over an hour several times and then get hung up on. When I finally get someone, they tell me they need to get ahold of the state and will call me back with an update in about two weeks. And never received a phone call back. I have emailed them multiple times as well. Cost me 57$ and still nothing. I check my order status now says it has expired. This company is a joke and should not be in business. This is not funny. Thanks for scamming me. And no stars. Made me check at least one star.

There's no reason UPS Air should have been the default for a document being shipped less from than 10 miles away. The fee appeared only after checking out.

I personally had a great experience ordering my birth certificate through this company. I ordered on February 28th and received it today, March 31st. Quick and easy process! Also quick delivery. Will use them again, if needed, in the future!

Ordered more than a month ago. They immediately charged $9.30, and every two weeks, after waiting for my "express shipping", I get a "missing documents" email. Customer service NON-EXISTENT, NEITHER BY EMAIL NOR TELEPHONE! TELEPHONE 7 DAYS IN A ROW! 1.75 HOURS ON HOLD NO REPRESENTATIVE! THEY GASLIGHT, SANITIZE LANGUAGE TO MAKE YOU FUME AND RAGE. DO NOT GET INVOLVED. IT'S FASTER TO TAKE A DAY OFF WORK AND A TRIP TO YOUR HEALTH DEPARTMENT

Have used this site twice. It's quick and reliable. I received my document within the specified time frame. I always pay to get it expedite, but in reality you don't need to because it delivers what it offers.
