The company's reputation is significantly marred by widespread customer dissatisfaction, primarily concerning its review management practices and aggressive advertising tactics. Many users express frustration over hidden reviews, perceived extortion for advertising, and a lack of genuine customer support. Positive aspects are scarce, with some customers appreciating the platform's potential for connecting with local businesses. However, the overwhelming sentiment reveals a distrust in the company's ethics and practices, leading to calls for accountability and transparency. Overall, the feedback indicates a critical need for Yelp to address these serious concerns to rebuild trust among its users.

When I went to make an account, they provided a message about how there is misinformation circulating about businesses paying Yelp for removing negative reviews. I then submitted my horrible experience at the dealership and waited for it to show. Instead, Yelp blocked my review and terminated my account. No cursing in the review, nothing nsfw. No explanation. Just trying to tell folks about dishonest mechanics, and suddenly my account is gone, and Yelp spreading more gospel about how unshakable their ethics are.
Funny how my 16,5 star reviews are "Hidden" and only two bad reviews (totally false incidentally) are up. I guess there are no algorithms to weed out those reviewers who are untruthful in their review but if a client is truthful about their excellent experience Yelp has algorithms to weed those out. Think this has anything to do with the fact I won't pay to advertise with them? They won't let anyone remove their page from their site. Is that even legal?
How do we get a platform like this removed? Not only does it force you to put in all these extra characters in your review leaving it not genuine, but having to go to the criteria of what they want. This platform is just trash. It likes to circle around the negative comments more so than the positive comments keep that in mind. Remove yelp!
Yelp is probably 1 of the Most Dishonest Companies in AMERICA. They Pretend to Be a Simple place to Leave a Review for a Business. But their REAL Business Plan is to Sell Advertising & Blackmail Business to Do So. We had 2 Salesmen in Suits come in to Our Business And Ask Us to Advertise. They Informed Us they HAd a Deal where Nobody will See Any Bad Reviews on US. Yep they Really Said that. ForOnly $2,000 & a monthly Maintenance Fee They Will Hide or Deleted Most Negative Reviews! My Boss told them that Was dishonest & went against Everything a Biz like that is supposed to Stand for. He told them To F-Off & Go Jump in a Lake. After about a Week most of Our Good Reviews Disappeared & anything Less than Perfect No Matter it was 10 years old was Pushed to the Top. There are MANY Class Action Suits & Investigations of Alleged Unfair Business Practices by Yelp. A little while Later My Dentist told Me they did the Same Thing to Him! I hope they BURN IN HELL
Yelp allows reviews that call out minors by name in harassing reviews, they allow an alias to be used and the same exact review to be placed week after week. The reviews have no basis in fact and the business has no recourse. To top it off, once some one places a review, their sales force harasses the hell out of the business for expensive advertising. Yelp seems to encourage the bad reviews and hides any good reviews. Why would any business advertise on yelp when yelp seems to thrive on dishonest and allows false information, bullying and harassment?
This is both a catalog and delivery service. I use for delivery predominantly, because I don't really favor going to joints on my own.
Still the feature that you can check nearby restaurants by filling in the location is interesting, props to y'all.
Prices are a bit high, but it's not a major deal for me, because when I wanna eat, I just wanna eat and nothing more.
So, I wish these guys to continue working on this service as it seemingly has a great potential for further development.
Too hard to find what you want. Have to get through the weeds first. Pretty bad programming. *******
I had an add posted on yelp. They charged me 2 weeks early. I then called and canceled my add. They told me they would refund me, which has never happened. Then again March 1st They charged me again after I had canceled the account. The guy I spoke with at customer service was very rude. He told me they charge your account when they need to. I have been trying to get intouch with them and the number keeps telling me they are closed. The phone number says they are open till 9 pm. It is now 5:30 pm and the phone has said closed since 10 this morning. I will never use this company again. Oh and they will not remove my cc from the account.
They behave as big brogther like the rest of those who have some static rigid guidelines without attempting to understand anything about the review posted on their site. They simply remove your post and that is it without attempting to discuss anything with the one who posted it.
Do not waste your time reviewing businesses at their site nor accept their reviews as genuine representation of their clients. In my opinion, they cator to businesses not to consummers.
Yelp is a scam. Justine Milesky is one the more annoying telemarketers I've had the displeasure of speaking with. These telemarketers don't listen to anything you are telling them when they spam call you. You may think it's a customer calling and answer but it's yelp calling to waste your time. They won't get off the phone and will keep prying to show you something to get you sign up for their paid services that don't yield any results. Scam. I'm sick of this company spam calling me and wasting my time.
They keep taking my good reviews down, this is my last month with yelp…….they don't have answers why.
Don't use Yelp, don't believe Yelp and definitely don't put your business on Yelp! I have a small business. Yelp gave me a free month of advertising when I signed up and promised a certain amount of business. That first month, I received 46 leads. Exactly the minimum they promised. Every lead had the same exact request word for word and not a single one ever replied when I reached out. I chose not to continue with Yelp advertising at that point. In the 18 months since, I have received exactly 0 leads. Every review I got after I stopped paying disappeared and I have been contact by Yelp multiple times where they try to trick me into paying for more advertising. I have also spoken to other business owners that have told me they pay Yelp to take down the negative reviews. Stay away from Yelp. It's a garbage business with questionable tactics.
Yelp has been. Contacting me to get service from them. They want to charge me 26$ a day. 700+$ a month. When i refused they post bad reviews on my company and also listed my company as closed. I will sue this stinking yelp business. This is the worst site. The force small business to pay a big amount of money for nothing.
U better take my company off ur site or i will sue yelp
Yelp has purposely and maliciously damaged my good name and my company because I criticize them for advertising unlicensed contractors I would like nothing more than to see them disappear in a pile of dust
I ran an ad for my business through Yelp. Got barraged with spam and scam calls from outside my target market spread. Had my budget ran to its max by empty clicks and people who called me from all over the world. No dispute resolution, no customer support from the business and had to eat the huge financial loss to walk away. Take my lesson learned and keep away from this company. They will take your money and that is all they want
I made a business page & put in my phone number as required. Now, I've only gotten cold calls from businesses trying to sell me client software which I don't need. I can't remove my phone number now. And, there terms now say you can't delete your business page. My page has been useless so far, but I haven't paid them any money which is a good thing.
In less than 3 months I was charged $800.03 for no results in helping my business!
The person who created my profile did not look at my personal & financial interests by giving me a minimum cost per month until I would see results! Instead, I started $450.00 per month for the initial setup & continued at that rate until i canceled on Dec 20th because of no results & overcharged fees that i did not need to start my campaign online! I will never recommend YELP to anyone as they are only interested in selling high-end advertising for no guaranteed results!
Upon starting my business, I went to yelp first to get the word out. Call after call.after call...constantly from yelp. Hounding me to pay to advertise and boost my business. Thus far I hadn't had even 1 customer via yelp. No way would I pay them. Advertised on my own and finally started getting a few customers. Politely asked them if they could please go on yelp and leave a review. Never asked for positive or negative. 5 left glowing reviews...YAY. Yelp deleted all of them. Several months later 3 more were posted and subsequently deleted. Yelp is nothing short of extortionists! Not paying them=deleted reviews
I have never been treated so poorly and rudely by any customer service department in my life. I'm always very polite and patient, just as I was today. I know that customer service is a very difficult job and there's never a reason to treat someone badly who's just trying to do their job. But in this case, 2 agents couldn't resolve my issue and just hung up on me, and the third one told me to just shut up because it was my mistake and now he had to fix it. Excuse me? The issue was that my business contact details had changed, and when I tried to update them and then log back in with my new email address, I got an error message saying my business was claimed by someone else. I called customer service to resolve this, and my experience was what I just explained above. First, this was not my "mistake". This issue was caused by poor platform design, not because I'm too inept to update my email address. Secondly, if I treated my clients like that, I would have no clients. It's not my fault that Yelp's back-end for business is very user UNfriendly. I have advertised with them in the past, and my experience then was exactly the same. I will never advertise with them and wouldn't recommend them to anyone. The only reason I'm listing on there is because Google likes to see my business listed on the major platforms.
We signed up for an ad on yelp and without asking they upgraded us to a program that costs $180/month. We asked for proof that we agreed and they said "you let it go for months without cancelling." We were behind in reconciling out credit card account and did not notice it. They refused to help.
Answer: Yes, it's true or they go to "not recommended"
Answer: Yelp are crooks, find some where else
Answer: For one of my business they made me pay for their monthly service which I never did, so my positive review was hidden.
Answer: Look somewhere else. As the reviews here show Yelp is notoriously unreliable.
Answer: Yes they erase all reviews they darn well wish to delete. CROOKED YELP!
