The company's reputation is significantly marred by widespread customer dissatisfaction, primarily concerning its review management practices and aggressive advertising tactics. Many users express frustration over hidden reviews, perceived extortion for advertising, and a lack of genuine customer support. Positive aspects are scarce, with some customers appreciating the platform's potential for connecting with local businesses. However, the overwhelming sentiment reveals a distrust in the company's ethics and practices, leading to calls for accountability and transparency. Overall, the feedback indicates a critical need for Yelp to address these serious concerns to rebuild trust among its users.

Issued unauthorized charges, Slimy
Issued unauthorized charges, on a holiday no less, even after expressly agreeing they would not. I had to cancel a business credit card and am going to have to file a dispute, then re-connect all accounts using that credit card, just prior to a trip. Big, big hassle! They totally lied, I'm pretty upset -
I was told by yelp that I needed to add my card before they could show me whay my page looked like and I wouldn't be charged until I approved they page when the guy called to get my approval I wasn't able to answer this happened a couple of times but I never approved anything and they took $160.00 from account without my APPROVALS BE AWARE DONT GIVE THEM YOUR CARD UPFRONT
I wrote an honest to God truth of what happened to my child at steilacoom cooperative preschool, where Kelsey, the blue class teacher and Diana ganged up on me after self diagnosing my child and further insulting her and the other kids. I would hope no one ever has to deal with neither of them, but especially Kelsey. Yelp decided to take my review down after all of the board members- the ones running the steilacoom cooperative preschool, just because they didn't want the truth coming out. Yelp is supposed to be a place where people should be able to leave an honest, raw review to help other people decide how to proceed. Yelp deleted all of the honest review from steilacoom cooperative preschool about Kelsey, BUT KEPT ALL THE FAKE GOOD REVIEWS MADE UP BY THE BOARD MEMBERS THAT RUN THE SCHOOL.
WHEN YOU APPLY FOR YOUR $300 CREDIT, THEY SWITCH THE PROMO AND CHARGE YOU HUNDRDS OF $$$ MORE. NEVER TRUST THEM
There is a car dealership that has cheated me three times. Yelp only let me post one review (even though the dealership (#1Cochran) has a horrible reputation, Yelp obviously took the side of the dealership. I was trying to keep people informed about the horrible customer service and even worse, service department.
Very difficult to have incorrect reviews removed from clinicians Yelp site. The company does not verify accuracy therefore incorrect posts can create negative impacts on any clinicians practices. Incorrect information about location is not able to be corrected.
Asked they remove my page off their useless site, nothing done, don't ask them to help with reviews as they do nothin,
You company is horrible and need to be shut down. You don't listen to anyone and have no standards. Yelp is so 1980. No one uses it.
I got charged $216 of unauthorized charges and when I called them to dispute the charges the representative hung up on me. Now I'm disputing the charges with my credit card. Don't ever give this company your credit card they will continue to charge you even after you cancel.
I shopped at this shoprite on 11/27/2023.
It bought $300 worth of groceries:
The cold cuts were very oily and had bad smell to them. The fruit was not sweet like they should be.
Worst ShopRite ever
Do not shop there. Go to other shoprites or giant.
1st day on yelp I got scam calls so I called to cancel my business on yelp. They charged my CC $103.97 for one day being on their site. So they not only screwed me, I now get scammers calling me and no one will return my calls so now I have to cancel my CC! Worst decision I ever made! Yelp rips people off!
Not use than bad part they leave you fake reviews in self and than when You call they never remove bad reviews place By yelp mostly of the fake bad fake reviews they place in my company online are from California and My company not provide services in California i ben looking they do in other profiles not jus my profile is time for me say something about than bad experience not just that they star charging you small fees to star and than when you are Not watching they will be overcharging for fake leads who users even respond is a they Not good
I was promised a credit of 300$ for signing up paid ads. I set a budget of 50$ a month. After one month I received zero new business and was billed 100$. So much for a 300$ credit. Nobody uses yelp anymore and the 'credit' offer is a scam. Or at best very confusing.
Dishonest business practices. They hide good reviews, and this is totally unfair, especially to small businesses that live on the small incomes they make for selling online.
I wish there was a zero stars. Yelp produced nothing but unlimited marketers calling me - which I was charged for. Three words to anyone thinking of adding their business to Yelp… Don't do it!
Used to be an honest website but now looks for reasons to delete legitimate reviews and be ornery towards reviewers. I had a reviewer review my review as well as defame me, which clearly goes against Yelp guidelines. After multiple attempted to get Yelp to remove the remove, they not only kept the review but also suppressed mine. Ultimately, I got an attorney involved, who showed them information from their own webpage that the offending review did not comply with their own guidelines. Yet, Yelp sent the same form letter to the attorney saying why the review would remain on the site. I guess Yelp employees have nothing better to do because this morning I received an email saying they removed one of my reviews that had been posted for a number of years because it didn't appear that I had an experience at the business location. Well, yes in fact I did. There was nothing in my review that indicated otherwise.
UPDATE: After a manager of a hotel I interacted with flagged a review I left and I reposted being careful to comply with Yelp guidelines, Yelp banned me after the hotel reflagged it for violating guidelines but would not say what guidelines I violated.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS WEBSITE!
USE GOOGLE FOR YOUR ONLINE ADVERTISING. This is the worst website on the internet, I wouldn't give them a nickel for advertising on their site. They automatically give the reviewer the benefit of the doubt in every case, go check out the reviews, way more negative reviews than any all the other websites! They say they are there to help the business owners, but they do the complete opposite, and make it easy for the customer to make false statements, and use personal names in their reviews, (google doesn't allow that, it creates a forum for hate) I and considering taking them to court and if I will be suing them for misleading information, by not deleting or having the consumer edit after a complaint, they are complicit in the client reviews and may be at fault for any damages caused by such reviews!
I own a local towing company on the east coast. Amazing how both of my leads were from California. The sales person actually would not call me back later to discuss a plan when I specifically told her at the beginning of the call I had a client to meet shortly. I ended up being late to the job by trying to be respectful to the representative. Don't give them anything but the poor reviews they deserve.
Yelp only leaves reviews they choose. We have 15 reviews with 5 stars and they won't post those because we won't give them money for leads. I told them to post all the reviews good and bad, but if they do that we would still be a 5 star company.
Made the mistake of joining yelp for solo musician advertising, I could not find my own ad that was costing $16.00 a day, - Quit in one month. They tried 12 times to charge my CC that I had Blocked and finally got in somehow and took $342.00 (bank is trying to find out how they got in) I knew I would probably have to pay. But not by Bank Fraud! This Company is Puke! Do not waste your money and time! Zero Stars! One Turd!
Answer: Yes, it's true or they go to "not recommended"
Answer: Yelp are crooks, find some where else
Answer: For one of my business they made me pay for their monthly service which I never did, so my positive review was hidden.
Answer: Look somewhere else. As the reviews here show Yelp is notoriously unreliable.
Answer: Yes they erase all reviews they darn well wish to delete. CROOKED YELP!
