They are totally garbage and robbing company. They make providers at the mercy of patients and use that to their advantage. I have heard that sometimes Zocdoc ask fake people to make appointments so that they can make money everytime people book an appointment. Its a scam and they are thieves. They don't listen to what doctors have to say. As soon as someone click the appointment button, they take money from your account. Who knows if Zocdoc is not creating a fake army of patients who make fake appointments and they make money.
This site is an absolute SCAM for providers. Patients are allowed to literally go on their platform and book HUNDREDS of appointments, without vetting, and with zero intention of keeping the appointments, and the providers still have to pay for the booking. Literally, a bot could sign in and book thousands of appointments, and they have no way, and no interest in blocking those bookings, because they're raking in the cash. Patients continue to book, using insurances we do not accept, or book and then don't show up for the appointment, and we pay a patient acquisition fee for a patient that never walks in the door. This platform is absolutely horrible!
Hi Mandie. We're sorry to hear that Zocdoc has not added value to your practice by bringing you new patients. Zocdoc is a paid marketing platform for providers, and our pricing was determined by a valuation study conducted by a reputable third party for the types of services Zocdoc is providing to them. We have policies and features in place to reduce the number of appointments booked, no-shows and late appointment changes that patients make. Please give us a call at (866) 962-3621 or email us at Service@Zocdoc.com if you'd like to discuss this any further. - The Zocdoc Service Team
Hi,
Please do not make any appointment through the ZocDoc app. It has outdated information. I would better use word misleading. Me and my husband got a huge bill of $900 only because the Zocdoc app has listed the physician doctor as IN NETWORK which is actually OUT OF NETWORK.
This can cause you unnecessary a lot of inconvenience. We got to know from our insurance company that they do not have dr. Sharmin Qureshi as in network anymore. It was back sometime in 2021. I did reach out to the customer service but havent received back any response. I have requested them to compensate this in some way but doesn't seem they will get back to us and compensate their mistake. It's us who has to pay off for their mistake.
Hi Noopur, we are so sorry to hear about the large bill you received. As it turns out providers are in charge of the insurance they provide on their profiles. Please give us a call at 855-962-3621 so we can look into this and offer some assistance moving forward. We are so sorry to hear about this experience.
I was talking to a representative over the phone, and he didn't let me finish talking. He kept interrupting me, but instead, he said I was the one who interrupted him. In the end, he said: "This is being inappropriate and unprofessional. Go ahead hang up the phone." I was shocked at how bad their customer service is.
I'm sorry to hear you didn't have a productive experience with our Service team, Dani. We make sure all of our associates are trained to provide the best service we can to all of our patients and providers. If you have a moment, please give us a call at 866-962-3621 so we can get some additional information to ensure this doesn't happen again.
We have been a client for several years. Customer service is horrific. Patients constantly cancel!
Hey there, Myndie. We're sorry to hear that you are having trouble with patient cancellations on Zocdoc. Zocdoc is a paid marketing platform for providers, and our pricing was determined by a valuation study conducted by a reputable third party for the types of services Zocdoc is providing to them. Please give us a call at (866) 962-3621 so we can look into the trouble you're having and offer any solutions possible!
I am someone who unfortunately used this app to receive my medication when I couldn't schedule with anyone else. I was charged over 300 dollars for using this app when I was only suppose to be charged $25. I would recommend finding someone in person.
Hey there! Thank you so much for providing your feedback. I am so sorry to hear about this, as I know how stressful it can be to receive an unexpected medical bill. However, I wanted to let you know that Zocdoc is simply the booking platform for patients and providers, and we do not get involved in any billing and/or pricing aspects. If you'd like to discuss this further and gather contact information for the provider, please give us a call at (855) 962-3621.
ZocDoc charges for all bookings. The only way you don't get charged if you select "client asked to cancel" within 24 hours of the booking. You still get charged for no shows, or if you forget to hit that cancel button within 24 hours.
Patients routinely book and don't notice they're out of network, or ignore our minimum age requirement, and when we notify them, patients say "oops my bad yeah cancel", and we use that reason to cancel. ZocDoc then has the gall to complain that "the appointment should be cancelled with the most accurate reason and is not eligible for refund," that the reason should be "we don't treat this type of patient" instead. ZocDoc DISGUSTS me.
I really don't understand how ZocDoc exists legally, given anti-kickback statutes. I can't wait for them to be shut down.
Hey there, Alejandra. We're sorry to hear that Zocdoc has not added value to your practice. Zocdoc is a paid marketing platform for providers, and our pricing was determined by a valuation study conducted by a reputable third party for the types of services Zocdoc is providing to them. If you're having trouble with marking patient cancellations appropriately, please give us a call at (866) 962-3621 so we can help walk you through it and explain a bit more about our billing policies!
I'm a mental health provider and this platform literally charges $65 per REFERRAL. Meaning, as soon as whoever (anyone) hits the booking button on the calendar you get charged; regardless of if the client is a no show, or if you don't accept their insurance, or anything else they will still charge you. If the client books the appointment and then cancels the appointment, they will still charge you. Keep in mind also that the client no-show rates from this platform are incredibly high so it ends up being not even worth the trouble. They tell the provider that they can cancel bookings that were booked incorrectly on their end, but as soon as the provider makes 3 cancellations in a month, ZocDoc starts sending threatening emails saying they are "trust and safety" department and they will disconnect the provider account because the provider has cancelled inappropriately scheduled appointments over 3 times in a month which is higher when compared to the cancellation rates of other providers. When the provider asks to see the cancelation rates of the other providers, ZocDoc says they don't have specific numbers and cannot provide that information. It a scam for providers so be very carful

The website seems simple to navigate but finding a doctor is VERY difficult and limited. I ended up having to use other options to find someone to speak to that's in- network to my insurance seeing as %99.9 are out of network.
Hi there, I'm sorry to hear we don't have many providers in-network with your insurance at this time. Providers are in control of the insurances that they display as in-network on their profile so I would encourage you to check back soon as we are adding more providers every single day. If you need any assistance, please contact us at service@zocdoc.com or at 855-962-3621. We want to ensure you can get the care you need. - The Zocdoc Service Team
I have made five appointments through Zocdoc. I get an "appointment pending" email but not a confirmation. When I call the doctor's office to confirm, the slot is taken by someone else and I have to reschedule. It's really frustrating and I have had medical care delayed four times due to an inability to schedule. The one time that I successfully scheduled an appointment through Zocdoc, the practitioner I saw was not the person that I had scheduled with and they were not of the same specialty that I had scheduled with, so, again, care was delayed as I had to seek out the appropriate provider after the fact.
Haley, we're sorry to hear about the troubles you've experienced with these bookings. This is not how Zocdoc is intended to work, and our providers have full control over the availability and appointments in their calendars. Most bookings are confirmed within one business hour. We'd like to connect to investigate these issues further. If you're willing, please contact us at service@zocdoc.com or 855-962-3621. We want to ensure you get the healthcare you need. - The Zocdoc Service Team
I went to Dr. Berg for an annual checkup and cleaning. The dental hygienist took x-rays and cleaned my teeth. When Dr. Berg came back to the room, the dental hygienist said something referring to the x-rays to the effect of, Did you see and "the numbers of four teeth"? He replied Yes. I was told I have four cavities. Very surprised as I have never had a cavity as an adult, I went for a second opinion. As it turns out, two other dentists confirmed that I do not have any cavities, let alone four.
Hi Andrea,
Thank you for sharing this feedback. We are sorry to hear that you had a negative experience with Dr. Berg and the hygienist. We created Zocdoc to be the beginning of a better healthcare experience so please let us know if there is anything we can do to help you find alternative care in the future. - The Zocdoc Service Team
I made an appointment with a provider online, and less than 24 hours before my appointment, ZocDoc TEXTED me to tell me she doesn't accept my insurance DESPITE THE FACT that my insurance for the appointment was verified by ZocDoc prior to this. They tell me my options are to pay $300 for the appointment, or reschedule for august when she starts taking my insurance again. Fine, I canceled the appointment and made one with a different provider. I SPECIFICALLY only looked for providers in my area. I made the appointment, got my insurance verified by ZocDoc TWICE, and called them to make sure the provider was seeing patients in my area. Low and behold, I get on the appointment. And she doesn't accept my insurance or see patients in my area. I made a third appointment, which was not properly scheduled on ZocDocs part, so the provider was unaware that I had an appointment and didn't show. Use literally any other website/service. This is the most unreliable service I have ever attempted to use. (Attempted because I didn't get a single bit of treatment after three appointments) I hope this saves someone from wasting a ton of time like I did.
Hi Izzy, so sorry to hear this was your experience! That's not how our service is intended to work. Providers on Zocdoc have full control over the insurances listed for their practice and we expect this information to be accurate. We'd love the chance to get in touch to help figure out what happened and more information about the providers you booked with. At your convenience, if you could please give us a call at (855) 962-3621 so we can learn more about your experience and assist further. -The Zocdoc Service Team
I would like to save other patients the trouble of picking this doctor for a primary. They do NOT care for the patient and the issues they are facing. Patient care is basically non existent. My mom has been going there for a while and her issue has not been treated. Nor was the proper tests done to find the root cause. She finally went to a specialist. That she found herself from the insurance and they found what is causing her pain. Save yourself and your loved ones by staying clear of. Dr. Robert Ferron in Valley Stream, NY.
Hi Linda, I am so sorry to hear that your mother had a poor experience with this provider. We created Zocdoc to be the beginning of a better healthcare experience and we would love to help your mother find a provider that works best for them. We appreciate you taking the time to provide this feedback. When your mother has a moment, please have them give us a call at 855-962-3621 so we can assist with getting them the care they deserve.
I was locked out of my account with no way to fix it and when I called I was given no explanation for why my account was locked. I was also told that there would be no way to recreate the account. Incredibly frustrating.
Hey there, Ally! Zocdoc implements different policies to ensure that our platform is working as seamlessly as possible for both patients and providers. I'm sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause! If you ever run into any problems with the Zocdoc platform, please don't hesitate to reach out at (855) 962-3621, or at service@zocdoc.com. - The Zocdoc Service Team

I booked a dental appointment through Zocdoc a month in advance and got confirmation and reminders from Zocdoc 3 times before the appointment. However, when I visited the dentist's office on the date of the appointment, it was closed. There is no where on the Zocdoc website or in their communication about to whom I can speak to about this issue. Absolutely unacceptable.
Hi, Tang. Thank you so much for providing us with this information. Providers have full control over the availability and information that is listed on their profiles, and we expect it to be accurate. I am so sorry to hear that this was your experience! I'd love to get some more information so that I can follow up with the practice. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us at (855) 962-3621, or at service@zocdoc.com.
This company charges doctor's offices $40 for every booking as soon as someone hits the schedule button. Patients can no show, reschedule again and again, and ultimately not pay for their appointment with the doctor, or perhaps the doctor doesn't take their insurance, and it doesn't matter: ZocDoc still charges the doctor $40, and absolutely is not interested in resolving any situation with the doctor.
Hi there, Paul. Zocdoc is a paid marketing platform for providers, which holds multiple benefits for the doctors who decide to join. While determining our pricing structure, we took into account problem appointments. However, Zocdoc is a free booking platform for patients! If you'd like to discuss this further, please give us a call at (855) 962-3621.
Before using zocdoc make sure you call the doc's office to make the appointment. My doc is kind enough to let me know that if I booked via zocdoc, zocdoc charges a $40 fee, and I still need to pay the $10 copay - so it will be $50 for a visit. I had to cancel my appointment with zocdoc and book via the phone, ended up to pay $10 only.
Also they listed incorrect information about the doc. Zocdoc says the doctor speaks Spanish but it turned to be not true
Hi there, Alex. Zocdoc is a paid marketing platform for providers, which offers additional benefits for the doctors who decide to use our service. However, it is a free booking platform for patients such as yourself. Also, providers have full control over the information that is listed on their profile, and we expect this to be accurate. Would you mind giving us a call at (855) 962-3621 so that we could discuss this further?
ZOCDOC is horrible.
They allow fake "medical doctors" to work in their platform.
Kelsey Leveling, PA - was scheduled to meet me.
She tried to get my bank account info, tried to get to me to sign an outside documento, tried to make me go another platform, where I would meet yet another person (who was not a doctor or PA).
This was the worst experience in my life with a "medical doctor"
The related company was THE KINGSLEY CLINIC.
AVOID AT ALL COST!
Answer: Hello Mark. Zocdoc offers a closed-loop review system that allows patients to share their experiences after being seen for an appointment booked on Zocdoc. These reviews can be found on each individual provider's Zocdoc profile. You can search for a provider at https://www.zocdoc.com/. Please let us know if we can help you find the care that you need or if there is a different set of reviews that you are trying to access at this time. You can reach our service team at (855)962-3621.
Answer: Hi Sandra, we hope that you were able to get the care that you were looking for. At Zocdoc, we are not able to offer any medical advice or guidance so we recommend you contact your doctor directly if you need to ever verify they will be able to provide the treatment you are looking for. Feel free to reach out to the Zocdoc team at (855) 962-3621 or service@zocdoc.com if there is anything we can do to help you find the care that you need.
Answer: Yes, prices appear to be around $44-180 now. Offices get charged this even for cancellations, no-shows, and fake bookings. Zocdoc has no built in protections to negate this type of booking behaviors. Why would they when they profit off it? Zocdoc also prohibits practices from talking about this fee as it violates their "community standards."
Answer: Hello Swetha. Thanks for reaching out. We'd love to help you find a doctor and book an appointment right online. If you go to www.Zocdoc.com, you can search for doctors by specialty, location, and insurance. You'll be able to see a list of doctors and their availability. Once you select a doctor, you can choose the time that is best for you. Once you complete the booking process, the doctor will receive your appointment information and confirm your appointment via email. This is completely free for you as a patient. Please give us a call at (855) 962-3621 if you need help with this or anything else!
Answer: Hi Amanda! That depends on the doctor's office! Every provider is different, so it would be best to get in touch with them about specific pricing information. Give us a call at 855-962-3621 if you have any other questions. In health, Mary M. Zocdoc Service Team
Answer: Hi Mallory! Thanks for your question! You can see a provider's reviews by viewing the full profile and scrolling down. All of the reviews will be listed there toward the left side of the page. Give us a call at (855) 962-3621 if you are having any trouble! In health, Mary M. Zocdoc Service Team
