This site is amazing! The people there are awesome and very helpful and the whole atmosphere feels so accepting and welcoming.
7Cups is run by volunteers who really keep the space safe for everyone. This app is very helpful! People are genuinely caring and supportive of one another.
This is a great site and I appreciate all the support I have received as a listener. They truly care for us and this app lets me volunteer with certification as well
7cups used to be better, but has honestly gone downhill fast. Most listeners are inactive and will ghost you, giving one-line replies at best. Some are downright harmful, trying to force you to do things their way. Some are manipulative. A few are very good though, but these people never hang out on the site for long. You should never connect with a random listener but always find a decent one through the search.
7cups does not seem to be doing much to curb the harmful behavior on their site. As a member, you get toxic listeners, and as a listener, you get harassed.
I'm a Listener with 7 Cups and as much as I've met some cool people on the site, reading some of the reviews on here concerns me. Did anyone respond to the person at the top of the reviews section, who responded with videos? Because I really hope 7 Cups addressed what happened and talked with everyone involved.
I try to report people and situations when needed and I try to talk with people about something before reporting them.
I think I read a review the other day about how there isn't enough training for Listeners and I agree. I know that that this isn't a Crisis Line, but sometimes I feel like my responses aren't to Members aren't enough
Also alot of the training content doesn't appear to be very inclusive alot of their content appears to be from mostly White people, there's two photos of I believe, an Asian person and a Black person, but their training content isn't very inclusive of BIPOC, also there's hardly any representation for Disabled folks/ people with Disabilities. This is just what I've noticed. I was told that they try to make be inclusive and Diverse I think, but idk. I'm White so maybe I'm just over thinking this)
But over all, I like that there's many Members, Coaches, Chat Support and people of many roles and other than what I mentioned above, and the fact that sometimes Members block me, I like that I'm someone that some people want to confide in and I enjoy trying to support Members
A safe place to speak your mind and listen to people without judgement.
At times a conversation alone can provide therapeutic effect for others.
Great site/app for anyone who is in need of peer support or just someone that'll listen. I'm currently a listener on there and in the past I've been on as someone looking for support.
7 cups is really best app it helps a lot people on daily basis who have no one to hear they come here feels this right place for them
I used 7cups since I was like 16, helped a lot with anxiety. Now though? Everything is confusing and disorganized. Nobody has good grammar or follows the listener training (I was a listener for a couple years so I should know). Nothing happens when I click chat now with listeners, so it's impossible to tell when someone is actually chatting with you. The censorship has also gone haywire as well, even the word hell is censored now (not even capitalized) and anything extremely vaguely relating to sex. That makes it difficult when you're trying to talk about your throat tightness during a panic attack for example. As an adult talking to adult listeners I feel there should at least be an option to turn off censorship on my end if I want to.
So yeah... would not recommend.
Listeners can be anyone literally. Most of them do not really care. They do not respond timely or they respond like they couldn't care less ( Oh, I see, I'm sorry). A lot of them will ghost you. Also a lot of them will give advice. I used the chat while being in a toxic relationship and the most common response was " why aren't you leaving then". They were also trying to direct me on breaking up as if I'd never thought of it. It made me feel so unseen and so judged while I just wanted someone to listen. I used to be a listener on the site but I was turned off by how many members were there for a casual chat or wanted to harass you. At some point, I also received a message from another listener that asked me to write a positive review for 7cups. I'm sure this explains the high rating here because if you check out their score before 2019 it was below 2 stars and suddenly became above 4 in 2020. At the same time the rating pace changed rapidly. I suggest you only use this site for something insignificant and if you are not emotionally unwell and in a vulnerable place
This site is absolutely amazing! I have both listener and member accounts on here, and I absolutely love it. I feel so fulfilled by helping others, and I can get the support I need.
The best place since you can express your feelings without being judged. Where each person counts and receives attention, I really like it.
It is a wonderful way to connect to people. People need help and this provides an amazing platform to help, and to get help! You can help other people as a listener; and people who want help and talk to listeners and professional therapists! The platform in warm and friendly for everyone!
I help people on here which also helps me work through my trauma too. I have helped multiple people work through their issues and problems. Really safe and easy to use. Non-judgemental space. Open to anybody all around the world.
We are very compassionate people. We want to reach his many people as we can. It is a fabulous community. The goal of 7 cups is to bring inclusion to mental health. What do I mean by that? It means that we don't exclude anyone we except everybody for who they are. I love helping the community.
7cups offers a unique and innovative approach to mental health support, by providing users with access to trained listeners who are available 24/7 to provide emotional support and guidance. The platform is designed to be accessible to anyone, regardless of their background or financial situation, which is a major advantage in terms of making mental health support more widely available.
One of the standout features of 7cups is the community aspect. Users have the option to join peer support groups, participate in online forums, and connect with other individuals who are going through similar experiences. This can be a powerful way to feel less isolated and more connected, which is especially important for those who may not have access to other sources of social support.
However, it's important to note that 7cups is not a replacement for professional mental health care. The listeners on the platform are trained to provide emotional support and guidance, but they are not licensed mental health professionals. For individuals with more severe or complex mental health needs, it's recommended to seek out the guidance of a mental health professional, such as a therapist or psychiatrist.
Overall, 7cups appears to be a valuable resource for individuals seeking emotional support and guidance. The platform's accessibility and community aspect make it a unique and innovative approach to mental health support, and it has helped many people who may not have otherwise been able to access support. However, it's important to keep in mind that 7cups is not a substitute for professional mental health care, and individuals with more complex needs should seek out the guidance of a licensed mental health professional.
I love love love 7 cups because i get the chance to help people out and it makes me feel good about myself!
This is a perfect place to destress and get your mind off of everyday stresses. This is my first day of being a member and my stresses were relieved immediately from the empathy I was given. I then became a listener and nothing makes me happy then a person responding and telling me that I've helped them. It leaves you feeling good that you helped someone with a everyday problem, whether it was permanent or temporarily. <3
Answer: It's a legit company! Definitely not a scam :) In my experience, I've been on as both a listener and member, it's not a scam. We're trained & take courses (as listeners) to best support members. Each listener is different, as is each member, so there may be bad experiences with one listener or vice versa. We have therapists we can ask for advice or refer people to as well.
Answer: I would suggest that any person seeking true authentic assistance NOT visit this site. It is unsafe, damaging and narcissistic and does NOT offer true help or support in any way
Answer: I would imagine that there are many other sites that are BETTER than 7cups
Answer: To send one-on-one messages, you should be able to just click on the text box and type in it. I find it's harder to use on mobile browser so if you're doing that, maybe try switching to desktop. Otherwise, I would just wait a minute or reload the page, it lags sometimes
Answer: You sure can! This is actually a very helpful feature on 7cups
