I own a small town gun shop. I started a campaign to advertise, and my campaign was not approved because Google does not promote the advertisement of firearms. Fair enough. So I tried to create a new campaign, this time only focusing on women's self-defense products and ran a max CPC of. 25. Also not approved. That's fine. You're entitled to chose who you do and do not advertise with. I cancelled the campaign and moved on. Then I discovered that Google was charging me $2.36 for ONE click- over nine times my max CPC- after my campaign was already deemed not satisfactory for approval. I sent feedback expressing my disappointment, and received a phone call today from Google. A very nice woman whose name I did not understand, in fact our accents were both so different from one another that neither of us could understand much of the conversation at all, informed me that Google did not wish to do business with me, but they charged me as such because one of my keywords was SO good that they raised my CPC *for* me in order to get me a better seat in that keyword's search results.
So.
You won't run my self defense based ad. But you WILL charge me when someone searches for one of my keywords. Not only will you charge me- but my (self-defense themed) keyword was so good that you'll go ahead and up my CPC nine times above what I set as my max to ensure I get a really good position?
But wait... you didn't run my ad. So how is it that I received this "really good" position and my *one* click that was worth sooo much more than I was willing to pay?
I'm not interested in doing business with you anymore either, Google. And not because you don't share my stance in self defense rights, because it's just as much your right to disagree with me as it is mine to disagree with you. But because you are sneaky and misleading. I don't appreciate that. Yahoo didn't want to advertise my campaign either- but at least they were upfront about it.
Been trying to set up an account for a nonprofit for two months as part of an offer that they have. The instructions they give are incorrect as they ask me to do things that I cannot do (for example to set my currency to a certain value, and to not enter billing information to set up my account). The customer service people don't seem able to understand or use the system and some are unable to consistently communicate what they want done. Myself and a co-founder have had four email accounts rejected for technical reasons - now I am trying to do this process again with email number five. I am truly shocked at how bad a well known service like this can be!
I have tried twice to be transferred back to the U.S. when my call was answered by the Philippine represents. They were unable to perform that task. I decided to cancel my AD with adwords and advertise with a local business instead.
Too many jobs are leaving America!
If you would like to speak with people in mental facility please dial this number *******495.
This is India... Why Adwords put people with no English and no professional skills on the phone this is a mystery
I paused the campaign after the first day and they still charged me the next few days. When I called they said I didn't pause it.
Also they insisted that I use a card ad in addition. I said "but I'll be charged double". They said no, and of course I was charged double!
Also:
- there are several things on the platform that are not working correctly. I get errors.
- Technical support is a disaster.
Not my favorite web app but AdWords gives you access to more potential customers than any other advertising platform in the world. It's incredibly flexible.
I got an unsolicited Promotional Ad card from Google offering a $100 credit, so I apparently entered my bank account information to get the credit to test their service. Six months later I learn that they had been taking money out of my account to pay for unauthorized adword clicks. My bank says they cannot help me because I gave them my debit card info.
It's no wonder Google is not a leader in Cyber Security, as obviously, it would be a conflict of interest for them.
Google Adwords is just a fraudalent advertising on the part of Google which siphons money from both adwords and adsense users. After spending 20,000 USD I have mostly received clicks from unknown locations far off in Nigeria and China.
Last month, I was charged $20,000 for adwords campaign despite my monthly budget settings to be $5000. When I spoke with technical team, they forwarded my call to someone who was hardly able to speak in English and told me that the monthly budget settings were not in place. However, before starting my campaign, I made sure that Budget Settings is in place.
I am planning to sue Google Adwords for all this and this is surely not acceptable on the part of Google.
Never Ever Use your Debit Card. This was the only mistake I committed while trusting Google Adwords. Use your Credit Card so that you can sue Google if you notice and fraudalent activity in your account.
I know many people love to hate AdWords and there are certain things that can be better about it. I personally like it as a way of quickly seeing some data about keywords (even then I take it with a grain of salt).
Also this is probably one of the only departments at Google which gives you a phone number and an actual person to talk to. One time I even called this number about a different matter and got through in less than a minute. Of course they weren't really able to help, but it was still nice to talk with somebody at Google about my issue. So just use it cautiously.
The most frustrating thing about using AdWords is that their customer support never gives direct answers. They reference the policies and guidelines but never provide any real help. Looks like it is all just about making money for them in the end... but how successful would they be if the customers just leave because of the poor support. Internet nowadays provides a wide variety of advertising opportunities. AdWords seem to be the most effective one for now, but how long can they last like that...
I know that "Google bashing" has become the "in" thing now, but I have been quite happy with Adwords! My business has grown exponentially since I started using it!
I love the analytics functions, and I'm thrilled with how little money that I have spent for so much exposure!
I have NEVER had a problem with Adwords or Local Business Center!
WARNING! STAY AWAY from google adwords and the local business center of google all together. Wrong information, very unorganized, duplicate listings with wrong information, outdated numbers. HORRIBLE customer service that gets you no where. F----
Google Adworks steals from its customers. They have a class action against for years, but just delay.
Don't delay, take Google to Small Claims. It cost me $50 for each time I file and I am filing one for each of the following infractions
Click fraud, running when paused, running outside target, overcharing days budget... I am starting here.
Even if I don't win, I win by taking them to court. Everytime I take them to court they have to defend and that cost thousand of dollars.
Google is not going to make money stealing from me.
I suggest others do the same, it really is simple.
If if you are not sure of proving do it, we only have to show weight of evidence. I am going the first time to make it so I have discover in all the others. That wll help me an be very annoying to Google.
They will not profit stealing from me. How about you?
Google AdWords is frustrating and here's their phone number so you can yell at them - Google AdWords has a poorly designed user interface - it's hard to navigate and slow. Moreover, they do not let you do simple things like change your billing from pre-pay to post pay. Lastly, getting decent customer service help is next to impossible - they just email you links to their help pages, which is infuriating if you've already read them. So if you're unhappy like me, the best thing you can do is call them, complain and get them to fix it.
Here's their customer service number - *******453 - let them have it.
Answer: Google is a very dangerous company, it has far to much power and governments around the world should be protecting their citizens from it. Google ads are taking £150 every month from a disabled persons personal bank account, despite being asked to stop as there has nether been an authorization for such payments, they have been given bank statements, end to end id codes and yet they continue to take money. BE VERY VERY CAREFUL DEALING WIT H THIS DIRTY COMPANY.
Answer: Not worth the money they will charge you a fortune for no return
