Avoid at all costs!
April 8, 2018

If I could leave zero stars I would. They've taken money from my account and are doing everything in their power to not return it, even though I've been promised a refund on multiple occasions. All the calls are from Indian call centres and the service is beyond pathetic. I cannot tell you in a small review the stress and hassle they have caused me.

I fell for Google AdWords because they kept emailing me $150 free coupons. However, they then charged my credit card for the same amount and now allege that the coupon was to be applied as a credit after the charge. Really disappointing.

HORRIBLE!
March 10, 2018

I have been using Google Ad Words Express for several years now! I spend a total of $230 a month for my business. Just lately, this month, March, 2018, they encouraged me to place my calls on "Verification" keeping track of my calls to show me that
I am getting calls according to the "clicks" I receive. Well, guess what, I'm not getting even the verified calls. 14 calls either hang up or disconnect averaging about 22 seconds. When I called to report this problem, they took a week to get back to me and then they said they could not give me a credit but to disconnect the
Verification so that I could receive calls. Unbelievable.! They really think Im that dumb to take off the "verification of calls" so they can go ahead and tell me
I'm getting 144 plus clicks for my ads so they can substantiate the charges.
I'm reporting this to the FCC and other website agencies. I will not be using them!
They won't even give you a credit! When they have screwed up! What kind of professional agency is this?

Slick and dishonest
March 5, 2018

We tried advertising on Google AdWords. We thought that it would be easy to use and very ethical because it had the word Google at the beginning. It seems to be run by people who have simply paid for the right to use the Google name. I placed a limit on how much I would spend per day, but they blew right past it. I thought I ended my campaign, but they simply ignored that. I ended up with a much bigger Bill than I ever expected. The Byzantine user interface will make it difficult for you to figure out exactly what is going on. Google needs to distance themselves from this business because it is dishonest and does not do anything to help you once you realize you were trapped.

We started setting up an adword account for our company. I entered my information and my credit card information. When I got to entering my email address it asked for a password. My controller likely set up an account under my email address and I did not have the password so I gave up on setting up adwords. I never got to select key words, and never finished setting my account up. Google has started charging me anyways and refuses to refund the money. I have asked them what words they are charging me for and they said the account is still open and they will keep charging me until I close it. Since I couldnt log in when I was trying to set up the account, I still cant log into close. They said they will close it for me but still wont give me a credit. They are crooks.

Nothing but scammers
February 9, 2018

Disgusting, unethical practices.

Google Adwords does not respond to complaints/disputer against their overcharging for fake traffic, but of course they continue to take money from your account through pre-authorized payment.

After taking the payments, the transaction records of the clicks that you were charged for are instantly wiped from your account so you can't even make a case/dispute anymore.

For the record, the amount of clicks they insist I was getting was greater than the traffic I was getting, according to their analytics. Called customer service, and they insist that because my analytics and adwords account weren't linked, I couldn't make a case. Complete bull$#*!.

Im a new business startup and used Google AdWords with the promise of $150 dollars in free advertising money. I thought what a great idea on googles part. Give some free advertising to potential customers and they will likely stick with you right. Man what a scam! I started using the service and noticed a bill accumulating and called. I was a assured that I would get my credit and my bill would be only the portion over $150 dollars. Great at this point I would have been a few dollars at this point. So use my advertising budget I allowed myself for the month. When I get my bill what what do you know no credit applied to my balance but I have $150 credit with AdWords. Call them and tell them that there is a mistake and get the runaround about the credit. No refund coming and Ill never us AdWords again. I wouldnt recommend them to anyone. Us someone local, thats what I have gone to. Turns out lots of other companies can put ads in those very same places that google does.

Great account srategist
January 24, 2018

The rep had followed up twice and gave us a plan that brought us to the top listing. After reading the all the sour reviews I had to wonder if some people actually know how this all works and are they talking about the same people. For those getting started and are not sure as it is tricky please request help and have some knowledge on how the system works.

As an independent real estate contractor, I contacted Google Adwords for help setting up an advertising campaign. The representative "changed" my account to an Adwords Express account, but he forgot to tell me that I must go back to my "old" account and turn off the advertising campaign. Therefore, my old campaign continued to rack up advertising charges. I have tried repeatedly to access a human being who can understand my problem... but none are available at Adwords. Current customers are sent to overseas call centers, where representatives do not understand and are not empowered to solve problems. Emailed complaints receive robotic responses--like talking to a brick wall. I will not be returning to Adwords or Adwords Express!

I've been using google adwords a long time. I've kept my budget to 25.00/day. It's been lasting a week at most. So, I spend $25/wk in actuality and regularly. Originally the budget was barely used and over time it began to get absorbed with more clicks. I realize the optimization and advertising and exposure has changed. But the point is, I check the keywords/phrases and search terms that correlate to them that supposedly get clicked, and it's very generic and used frequently. I feel like google hires people solely to go click keywords that will deliberately use the budget up so you continue to replenish it. We are a specialized company and our keywords are very specific, so it's just highly unlikely that we use a consistent budget every week. I'm not a tech geek so trying to prove this is probably very involved, but my suspicions are very reasonable. Google is a huge company and i wouldn't put it past them that they are capable of this type of fraud.

This is THE worst customer service of all times. You call being a prospective client spending hundreds a month and they have zero concern with even helping with the slightest detail. The first time I even used AdWords I spent nearly 650$ in a month and maybe only made 60% of that back through the clients I obtained. I decided to possibly try and give it a go again maybe looking to perfect my ad. Two phone calls and it was like talking to the most rude and uninterested teenager with an attitude. Such a waste of time and money!

Google consultant
December 27, 2017

I had a Google consultant try and call me about 6 times trying to set up a time for a free consultation on my Google AdWords account. When the time came, I thought it was going to be a simple phone call but it was a "video call," whatever that is. OK, I am not technically sophisticated but I could not connect because my equipment and browsers and plugins were not all configured or was not the right stuff. I was not informed about this ahead of time. Talk about frustrating on an already busy day! Bad, bad, Google. I was so angry.

Terrible service
December 13, 2017

I'm beginning to think this is a scam with google subbing out the adwords call center not intentionally but i believe the India call center to keep the contract with google they generate fake calls and fake clicks, The India customer service reps simply hangup once they can't answer questions and or explain any issues. I got alot of calls but nothing to do with my product or services and i change keywords that might have been to general and still got calls from people who acted as if i was calling them and swore they never called me from any ad or what not, and no wants to or cares to help even when I let them explain certain aspects of adwords and then challenge them for a better explanation i get disconnected. Very frustrating and disappointing and a waste of time and resources. Google needs to review and change this asap.

They literally charged me extra because of their staff's lack of knowledge. The funny thing is after many attempts I got to talk to sales manager and I asked for her direct extension to follow up after 2 hours and half being on the line. She said she can't share her contact with anyone and she promised she will contact me the next day and she didn't call me until 2 WEEKS LATER (which was today). They owe me $150 but now she can only offer $50 dollar for refund. If you sign a deal with them make sure to have them email the deal to you.

I also called and emailed them to deactivate my ad campaign one day before it ended and they never got back to me for 10 days. Even though I had proof of my email to them they still charged me and the rep lied that she called me and emailed me which she didn't.

I really lost my respect for google after being treated this way! I worked as a tech support for many years and I know how things work and you need to cover up the costs that your staff is responsible for. The agent admitted that it was his fault but still they insist on charging me extra! VERY UNACCEPTABLE!

They usually sent you a survey after each phone conversation but they never sent me one because they knew how messed up they were!

I'm starting to think this is a HUGE scam. They know it doesn't work but they keep it going because there are many fools out there, like you and me. Guys! Google AdWords is a HUGE WASTE of money. I got around 140 clicks on my ad (in one day) but when I checked my Analytics, I saw a 80% bounce rate (Bounce Rate: The percentage of single-page sessions in which there was no interaction with the page. A bounced session has a duration of 0 seconds.) Basically people clicked on the ad by mistake. And yes! You will pay for that! Google doesn't care. Customer support is absolute garbage and a waste of time. My suggestion is, if you have a card on file, report it stolen/lost so they will not be able to charge you.
