Worst service

I have been a customer for 6 long years and so they have started taking me fir granted. 31 July, a payment towards insurance policy from ICICI Lombard renewal was done and same day it was confirmed to me by Amex executive named Khusboo and was promised to recieve the sofy copy in the next 3 working days. Today being the 4th day, i did not get the polich document and also amex is not co forming whether the payment was successful or not and ICICI Lombard says that they have not generated by policy as payment were not recieved. The payment was done through razorpay link from amex credit card. I think i gave taken a wrong decision in renewing the policy for the 2nd year. I will never recommend this to anyone and would also not renew it ever again. I also, would end my subscription of amex credit card as the customer service is pathetic and people make false statements. Worst service ever experienced.

American express want businesses to take their cards but you can have a customer walk into a restaurant,eat,give a tip then dispute the charge and they will let the person win. American express are not for businesses they are helping customers commit fraud and should be banned..

Staff came to my workplace to check if we take American express, explained we've had 3 people this year already check and we don't. The got very rude with my boss hid her identity tag called him a heroin addict and stayed outside the shop for ages being very rude. Disgusting behaviour

I mailed 4 money orders together in a priority mail envelope. I received credit for 3 not 4. I was told their machine must of destroyed it. Now I get to wait 60 days and pay $17.30 to the USPS to get my money back. Instead of trying to help the customer service agent scolded me on the phone about how I should only send 1 payment, well you can not get money orders for over $1000. We charge a lot of money on AMEX but after this months charges are paid off we will never use the card again.

Been with them for 12 years in the beginning they answered their phones and cared now all you get is a message to call back or chat on the website - but the website is SO HORRIBLE that you have to log in and log out several times to even get any information...just says try back later - no wonder people are dropping Amex - expensive interest rates and no one wants to use it

Stay away from this disloyal organization. They throw you away like a piece of garbage over a silly technicality despite being one of their highest spenders, reliability and promptness in settling one's dues, after so many years. They are willing to tear you to pieces, defame you, ruin your reputation for the sake of some draconian policies even if you try to present them with evidence to dispute their false allegations. They have no respect, no consideration no morals! They allow small timing bureaucrats in their company to pass judgements and to decide a long standing good client's future. Good riddance to bad rubbish!

I applied for the American Express Card (Hilton honor card), I was approved and the company sent me the card. However, after three months, I spent the more money ($4000) they requested, then I asked when I will receive my rewards points, then I was told that I was declined for the rewards, but they never sent me the letter or email indicating I was declined. If I am declined, why the company still sent me the approved card?
I am very frustrated and confused.
I canceled all my express cards. Also because already not many store (I.e.,Costco or other stores) don't accept the Xpress cards.

I called Amex Platinum card customer service to request help with the various security codes, safe key numbers and other hurdles they now place in your way with online purchases. Once I eventually got through the relentless answering machine options to actually speak with someone, he was arrogant, aggressive and totally unhelpful. And then, mid-way through a sentence that I was explaining for a third time, he simply hung up! Is this what I pay annual membership fees of 720 Euros a year for? Disgraceful behaviour!

I visited a Delta Sky Lounge with a friend and a Delta agent talked me into applying for the SkyMiles Reserve card with the benefit of future Sky Lounge access and 90,000 bonus SkyMiles. After paying the $450.00 annual fee, exceeding the minimum spend and waiting 4 months the points have not arrived to I called customer service. I was told that my bonus was "declined" because I cancelled the SkyMiles Gold card I had for years when I upgraded to the Reserve. This was not disclosed to me by the Delta Agent or the Amex agent when I called to cancel my Gold card. Definitely stopping all spend on this card and cancelling before I get hit with the $450 renewal fee next year.

I was on vacation and lost my card. I was a customer for 25 years and a good one. I called to report the card lost while on a trip and requested a replacement. They said they ran out of 4-digit card numbers (they change the last 4 digits of the card for replacements) Dah! There are more number on the card number to change? So there resolution was to reapply for a new card altogether! Start all over applying for a new card was the solution while on vacation. I have been a customer forever, don't they have that info. It would take 5 days they said to approve the application. They used to overnight lost cards. No appreciation for loyal customers. Thank goodness I had other cards on me for this trip. Not surprised about all the bad reviews. I cancelled my card on the spot and they could care less. They do not care about their customers!

Could be done and it will be tried to that bank account three more times before they stop trying. There was nothing that could be done to stop it because of 'code.' I even used a different bank account to pay the full balance and they still disabled my card until the computer kept trying to withdrawal funds from a closed account. Weeks this went on. When I asked how much I put on the card in past year I was told $400,000. She laughed when I complained about the difference.

Really unhelpful with problem transaction … used to rave about Amex and recommended to many… not any more… very poor customer service… a legitimate chargeback has been reversed with no decent explanation… £300+ out of pocket, flights cancelled, and struggling to resolve with the travel agent …. AMEX have not helped at all…. Not what is used to be

Starting with the ridiculousness of their automated menu through the lack of power and authority of many of their reps to thoughtfully and usefully service your request/problem AMEX has deteriorated into a mediocre cc with no sense of loyalty to really good customers. I move on and will never return.

My experience with American Express has been an infuriating mess from start to finish. This company's complete lack of consistency, disregard for customers, and intrusive practices are beyond maddening.

From the moment I signed up, they couldn't be bothered to validate my credit limit properly. Yet, as soon as I started spending, they felt the need to audit my every move. They would decline transactions within my credit limit or, even worse, approve ones that exceeded it, only to use that as an excuse to audit me. It's a complete joke and a sign of their incompetence.

As if that wasn't enough, their statement updates are a complete joke as well. It takes a mind-boggling 7 days for them to reflect my actual spending power and credit limit. This outdated information led me to unknowingly exceed my limit and triggered yet another pointless audit. It's a lack of transparency that sets customers up for financial disaster.

The icing on the cake is their unhelpful customer service. Instead of providing assistance, they hide behind the excuse that everything is in the user agreement. They show no accountability or empathy for their customers' concerns. Moreover, their representatives have no qualms about prying into your personal life, asking intrusive questions about your purchases and whereabouts. It's an unnecessary breach of privacy and respect.

In conclusion, American Express is a nightmare of incompetence and intrusion. Their inconsistent credit limit practices, delayed statement updates, unhelpful customer service, and intrusive questioning are beyond frustrating. Save yourself the headache and protect your sanity and personal privacy by seeking credit card options from companies that prioritize their customers and respect their boundaries. American Express falls disgustingly short of what any reputable company should be.

Next year is my 50th year of being a cardmember. This year has been the worst "service" I have yet experienced. Just a company that has gone downhill with poor management. Made a $1000 purchase yesterday and today they are already hounding me for payment when I had a zero balance prior. What happened to 30 day billing cycles?

THE ABSOLUTE BEST

I can't even begin to describe the difference between THE AMERICAN EXPRESS, and the rest of the rest, matter of fact I don't know why would anyone choose another institution I can't help but feel truly sorry for the time I have wasted with the others and I can't be more proud that Im a part of this family.
