I had a fantastic experience at AmeriGlide! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the Rave 2 stair lift is excellent. The customer service was exceptional, as they kept me updated throughout the entire process. I had a question about the product, and their support team responded promptly and professionally
I ordered a Hymar AL 400 Lift, for my mobility scooter. They delivered a hymar AL 100. They did not include. All the needed equipmand and they are lift Was too low to the ground and would hit the ground while Driving. They knew there was a question about the model number. I was ordering, but instead of just calling me to get it clarified They decided they could figure it out on their own and figure it out wrong. They did not include a swing gate which I ordered. Once installed, it did not work and would not lift my mobility scooter off the ground. When I tried to call Salman Sazid He stopped taking my calls. And I could not reach him until I called him from a different telephone number. He then proceeded to lie to me about the order And whether or not high more made a swing gate for their mobility lifts. The unit was picked up the next day by the installer, A nice man named Cliff Bramlett, Who are recommends highly. I filed a dispute with my bank after Salmon refused to issue a credit despite the unit being the wrong model with the wrong attachments, which did not work and which would have hit the ground. Don't waste your time. Your breath or your money dealing with this idiot.
I purchased a unit 11/23, it stopped working 11/24, they sent a service person who had it running for 1 hour. I can't get anyone to come and fix it and it's been almost 3 months. Almost 4K out the window, now I have to take legal action. Their service man Mr Leece refuses to return phone calls even to Ameriglide. Go with Acorn or someone more reputable!
Do not purchase an Ameriglide product. They claim 110% customer satisfaction, but this is not true. My sister ordered a stair lift for my brother-in-law. It was delivered 9/27/24. He was admitted to the hospital prior to receiving it and passed away on 10/3/24. I called Ameriglide customer service on 10/3/24. I explained our situation and was told we would receive a return call. I called again on 10/4/24. This time I spoke with an extremely rude woman who refused to transfer me to a manager until I questioned their 110% customer satisfaction policy. I was transferred to Tony, left a message, and did not receive a return call. On 10/14/24, I called again. I spoke with Jessica. She said that we had missed the return policy by 1 day. I explained that the items were never opened and my brother in law (age 50) had died. She called Tony, and Tony said that there were no exceptions for their policy. I told Jessica to tell Tony that I would be warning families about purchasing from Ameriglide. My sister is now left staring at a stair lift in its box and a significant credit card charge while grieving the death of her husband. So much for 110% customer satisfaction…
I purchased a Rave2 stair lift and was advised to contact the installer when the item arrived. I called the installer the day before the stair lift arrived and left a voice mail requesting he call. I left multiple messages to np avail. After 5 days and multiple calls to the installer and Ameriglide the installer sent me a message saying it would be 8 days before he could come out. When I contacted the installation company, the female I spoke with was very rude. She said there were no other installers on my area and I would have to wait for him to call and abruptly hung up. I had to contact someone on my own to get the stair lift installed before my wife was discharged from a rehab center. So far my calls to Ameriglide have not been answered. My itemized bill clearly states $599.00 for installation. Since I had to go with someone else, I'll see what they say about getting a refund for the installation.
Ordered 2 stairlifts, one was fine, the other was not. John Goss, the salesman was useless and rude. The only way to contact him was by email. No one answers the phone in the Raleigh office. Their customer service rep Marcia couldn't even be bothered to learn my name and was illiterate as well. No help
Finally got someone to help me but the installer from DelStal couldn't fix it. Been waiting on a part for over a month. Everyone gives me the run around and actually forget what they previously told me. Meanwhile I have been trapped in my house
Do yourself a favor: use a local company
I have been tracking others since I was stung hard ($8000 to complete by others) by them. They still will not call me back and has told their sales department to not answer any of my calls. Not that you reach anyone anyway. The true owner in their words is MIA and they have no way to contact him/her. To take advantage of us seniors knowing most will not put up a fight. Please read the countless bad reviews. There is a company out there (A USA Company) that will service our needs ten times better! Starts with a "B".
Best to you all with needs like this our insurance company or family pays out...
I have been trying to get a copy of my purchase for last three months with zero luck! In last three months I called the customer service almost 10 times, either left a voice mail or after talking to a representative, I was told they are going to send me the copy of my purchase, still waiting!
Purchased an Ameriglide RAV2 Stairlift in May. Due to a shoddy cut rail and and misaligned screw holes, the installer was unable to to his job. Got a new rail a week later. Spent the next 2 months trying to get the unit installed. 5 no-shows by the installer (wasting time waiting). Many MANY phone calls trying to "work" with the company to complete the installment. Suggested I would like to return the unit for a refund and was threatened I would be charged a restocking fee. Finally filed a complaint with BBB and got results. They were given one more week to install the unit and failed. Product was boxed up and returned to Ameriglide for a full refund. It's shameful it took the BBB to get treated right.
On the flip side, I called 101 Mobility for a stairlift. Free consult and installation took less than 2 weeks. I couldn't be more pleased along with my 88 year old mother who has been climbing stairs for months.
We needed to get replacement parts for my Ameriglide stairlift and couldn't get any help from Ameriglide. They stated they can't sell parts to us because we are not a business.
Bait and switch purchase! PLEASE beware! My elderly mother spent a LOT of her savings to have an installed stairlift as she is no longer able to navigate the stairs. The company committed to installation but after the system was delivered, realized they have no technician in our area. Over 45 days later and they will not accept nor return the dozens of calls my family has made. We are left with 4500. 00 of garbage and they promise to help, but have completely abandoned my poor mother. She already has physical limitations and this experience has caused her extreme mental distress, too. Ameriglide's customer base is 100% elderly or disabled and the literally do NOT CARE about what they have done to my mother.
After a long discussion with sales rep about my needs I ended up receiving wrong lift. I was charged for the lift I needed which was more expensive than the one I received. Long story short, I now own a lift which I can not install and the company has gone radio silent to my calls and emails for help. Again this was their mistake I clearly stated my needs and where it was to be installed. This is beyond infuriating.
I have unfortunately called 3 different 800 numbers to get my parents stairlift serviced, only to receive no call-backs, and after speaking with one individual, and calling back the next day to find out why I didn't get a call-back - they told me they had never heard of me, and didn't have any case notes. Nice... Product is generally reliable, but ameriglide service is the worst... don't count on them at all - if you can't repair this product yourself, then you are SOL.
I am the Pastor at Verona Baptist Church and let me say first of all we have had nothing but problems with the lift that Ameriglide of Southport installed. The first problem was poor workmanship which had to be completely redone. Installed what appeared to be a used lift the first time and was damaged on the sides which they had to remove. Then without calling they send workers out on Sunday during church service to pour concrete at the church entrance. After the install another lift They have been called out 4 times for the lift not working. Lift has caused two people to be stuck in it we had to get out. Every time after it was down it took a week or two for them to respond. My last contact on 8-12-21 when I called to ask when they would be coming to repair I spoke to the owner and I honestly have never been so rudely talked to. This guy came unglued on the phone and I have witnesses that heard the conversation and after a couple of minutes of his screaming decided to record the rest of it. After replacing batteries already a couple of times he then begin to scream and said the problem was not his issue but something wrong in the electrical connection to it which I knew was a lie. Anyway he agreed to send someone out again and after replacing the batteries one more time they finally pulled the battery charger and it was rattling inside and was evident that was the problem the whole time. I will say the last guy Chris that came out was polite and apologized for the owners behavior. We will never do business with them again and I plan to call corporate office next.
After paying over $3,000 for repair, we still dont have any call backs from the company. No one is responding to voice mails- we get transferred around so many times its ridiculous. They took our money and stopped communicating with us.
Gave the company two stars in my first review. Company finally fixed issue (after a BBB complaint). Bottom line is that it was a cost effective solution.
Dying friend was sent Defective or Wrong Lift chair. 11 Days later still No one to service lift chair
Overall I was impressed with Ameriglide and the quality of the product. It was delivered promptly following my order with nearly everything intact. I did the install myself, which was pretty straight forward, but the instructions could be better. For instance, my stairs required a short section in addition to two standard lengths. It was cut correctly, but they did not tell me where it was intended to be installed, so I put it on the top. After my installation was nearly complete, it was obvious the short section should have been placed in the middle. This was not a major issue, and was recoverable, but it would have been nice had they explained it up front. In addition, my stairs included the hinged bottom so it was pre-wired. Unfortunately, it was wired for two regular length sections and was too short for my stairs so I had to splice in wires to make it long enough. They eventually sent me the extensions, but didn't tell me they were coming, so I had the job done by the time they arrived. The last issue was the pads for the footrest stops are really cheap quality and fell off after only a couple of uses. Overall the product is top quality and works really well. If they could only tighten up a couple of these minor items, it would be a great product!
Purchased a stair lift for my wonderful mother in law. Our salesperson Dane Stiler seemed nice and full payment was quickly deducted from our account and install date was set to be one week later. Well you know the story, the part didn't come, bla bla bla. Reached out to the local representative in North Carolina and they hung up on us twice as we tried to understand why our install date had not been met. Before they hung up the second time, they suggested that we work with the installer ourselves to reschedule. WHAT :) Keep in mind we had paid the $500+ for the install. He said we were being rude... but we reminded him we were the customer. That's when he hung up. So much for customer service. Sent Dane an email and then called twice but all we got were crickets. Can you hear them? Almost two weeks later, lift has not been installed. I am hopeful at the end of this tunnel there is light and not a freight train. Delays in parts and shipping does not bother us, but the attitude of the local NC shop was really an embarrassment to the AmeriGlide brand. The CIO of this company must either be asleep, or not reading the reviews,,,
For the product itself, I rate it between 4 and 5 stars. The model we ordered installed flawlessly and has worked well for the last couple of months. No regrets whatsoever with purchasing it.
My issue is with the Sales Department; incompetent, rude, lazy and in the areas that count - liars. In my case, we finalized the purchase agreement based on a future delivery point and installation. By the way, the installers, if you use the company installers, were pretty awesome and you should choose them if possible.
To continue. The delivery point. I specified a future delivery point, as in "do not deliver until a date two weeks from now". Real simple. Nope. They fulfilled the order the next day with the product about to be delivered to an empty residence. They didn't notify me of shipping. I learned about it via due diligence and made every attempt to stop/reschedule the delivery. The "Sales" department lied to me regarding the status and when I pressed them, they came clean with the story but then made every effort to push the responsibility for correct delivery on me, which I refused since I was paying THEM for it. The person trying to do this was a T. J. Sell, Sales Manager.
Eventually, the product was delivered but not without nearly a dozen phone calls to "T. J.". The interaction was not without real anger at his treatment of us, particularly when he tried to blame the misdelivery on COVID (really?). Somehow a disease was responsible for his failure to stay on top of the order fulfillment process to ensure the $2000+ order was correctly handed over to shipping (FedEx). "T. J." also attempted (several times) to pick a fight with me over the phone, a form of intimidation that was easy to ignore.
So, if you're buying this product, you can sleep well knowing it's well-crafted. But -- it's highly advised you hold the Sales Department's feet to the fire EVERY STEP OF THE WAY... follow-up with them by phone every day... take detailed notes of date, time, and what was discussed. The Sales Department WILL find a way to disappoint if you're not careful. Get everything discussed in writing. Be particularly wary if you end up speaking with T. J. Sell; he's a major headache Excedrin can't fix.
