We are very pleased with the stairway chair lift that we recently purchased. The customer service was outstanding and we would highly recommend Ameriglide
Excellent customer service. I worked with Buford who was professional and very competent. I recommend him highly as the best liaison available within this company. I appreciate this opportunity to submit my review
A little confusion at the start, but they delivered a good product and it works well.
We brought the product and installation a year ago. It broke multiple times. Each time, I had to call for days in order for the post installation consultant to come over to take a look at. And it has been getting harder and harder for the consultant to even pick up the phone. I am very disappointed. I have a feeling that next time, he won't even pick up my phone anymore because he just doesn't want to come over to fix the problems. The quality sucks! I wish you guys can review my review prior to purchase the stairlift from AmeriGlide.
Built well, works well, very happy with it. Instructions are a little confusing. My aluminum track had a small dent in it which made installation of the gear track very difficult, but that was due to shipping. If the unit is installed close to a wall behind it to allow you to walk the stairs next to it then you can not swivel the seat as the back of the seat hits the wall. Makes it a little awkward to get on and off especially at the top. Very sturdy, built and designed well. All in all very satisfied.
Had excellent results with a complex installation. Great response from the Ameriglide people in Raleigh, NC. Very helpful from day one with all questions answered directly. Tres was very helpful in selecting the system to install in my application. Did have a small problem with rail lengths in original shipment but that situation was solved immediately with new rails shipped in two days. Final installation was a breeze and all is working great.
Thanks Ameriglide.
Very happy with our purchase. My elderly mother loves the customed size lift chair. She is a woman about 5'2" and 200lbs. She has to keep her legs elevated regularly for better circulation. This chair offers her plenty of room and the infinity position allows her to elevate her feet without always having to recline. The longer warranty makes me feel more comfortable that this chair will last. I highly recommend this product!
Unfortunately for us neither the product or the service was good. Product did not work from the start, with no help or satisfaction from the company.
I called AmeriGlide to talk about a stairlift for my 85-year-old mom. I live out of state, and the rep was exceptionally accommodating in 1) recommending a stairlift for a narrow staircase in a 100-year-old house; 2)making arrangements for expedited shipment at no additional cost; and 3) arranging for the installer to come on a particular day two weeks later when I would be in NJ. The installer was equally accommodating and everything went without a glitch, so unusual in this day and age -- a company that really dedicates itself to customer service. I could not have asked for more, and my mom is thrilled that it is so much easier to live independently in her own home.
Prompt professional service, will definitely recommend
We paid top dollar for a chair that broke down paying hefty repair bills. We were convinced by the nice sales person that they would buy back the unit. After 16 months they offered to buy the unit back for $300., 9% of the purchase price. That offer is disgraceful. The rude sales person was CERTAINLY trying to take advantage of the elderly and people in mourning that are trying to deal with the loss of a loved one. SHAME on THEM! Tell your family and friends to buy elsewhere. They'll be glad they listened to you!
Manual worked with a power drill. Part came in after a week. Installation was our problem no instructions. Lift still did not work, taped all sensors to get the lift working
I bought a Vesta stair lift from this company over a year ago. The stairlift is very unreliable, it frequently stops for no apparent reason. It is likely to be a faulty electronic board, as the connections and switches seem ok. I have been calling Ameriglide to service the unit, which is supposed be under a warranty, but was always redirected to another number, which turned out to be a recording. They never called me back. I do not recommend this company.
Bought their Horizon stair lift and it is very nice. Installed it myself in about 4 hours. Instructions could be improved but adequate. If you have problems with the instructions watch the online installation vide.
Best price for what appears to be a quality stair lift.
Our rep told promised us a one month completion time after ordering. Completion took two months.
A rep took on-site measurements, and AmeriGlide promised the existing handrails would stay intact. Not so! They had to be completely removed and reassembled with the wall needing fixed and repainted.
The user has to ride facing the far right because otherwise his knees will collide with the wall. Absolutely ridiculous and dangerous!
The installer smoked and smelled like a chimney.
Poor customer service.
Stay away from this company!
Please don't waste your time with AmeriGlide. Believe me when I tell you I have had nothing but headaches dealing with them. My mother lived with me and so I had her Harmar stairlift moved to my house. The cable guide broke & I needed service. I could not get someone to service it. I decided to order the part, and my husband was going to try & fix it. He couldn't so I decided to return the part as there was something else wrong with the stairlift & that part was not going to make any difference anyway. I decided to get another stairlift that was not AmeriGlide because I needed to be able to have someone help me if something goes wrong with the machine. When I contacted the person whose # I was given to find out where to send the part back I was told "No refunds." I said where does it state that there are no refunds? There was no mention of it when I purchased it over the phone. He said he'll send me the policy which he never did. (The part was 8 feet of a plastic cable guide which cost several hundred dollars.) I returned the cable guide to them anyway and disputed the charge. Thank God I charged it on my credit card so you have the option of disputing it. I won the dispute because I had the receipt that I sent it back and the money was put back on my card. It is stressful being a caregiver, never mind not being able to get things taken care of when you really need it to be done in a timely fashion. Elderly people have to be able to move around and this company does not help you. That stair lift is currently on my driveway waiting to be brought to the dump.
We ordered a Vesta chairlift. The minute the installer showed up, I should have run. His run down truck hood was tied down with a rope, there was so much stuff in the truck it literally fell out as he got out. He carried his tools into my house in a cardboard box and he was handicapped himself so I had to help him carry the heavy boxes! He ended up not lagging down many of the screws tight enough, did not install a grounding screw, and did not screw the "stop" tight enough. All of these items could have ended up very dangerous for my mom(90) and dad (96).
Now the stairlift has only worked occasionally... if I wiggle and jiggle some wire, the main assembly box, or using the remotes. My parent's kitchen is on a different level, and neither one of them can use the stairs. One day the lift wasn't working and I wasn't around so they didn't have food until I showed up much later in the day.
I have been on the phone with Eddie trouble shooting. I have honestly done everything that he has asked me to do. Many phone calls go unreturned. They have never said they would send out a tech to look at it. I am tired of trying to figure it out. My parents are scared to get on it now because they might get stuck in the middle of the stairs.
This is just terrible! I feel terrible having arranged to have it put in!
This company's customer service is horrible.
I purchsed two Horizon Plus stair lifts which are supposed to be top of the line among all the lifts this company offers, the shipment was missing a critical assembly part and the seat covers were the wrong color on both units. This whole issue caused a serious delay with installation. On top of it all, the installation company they use is just as terrible as Ameriglide is and so irresponsible and non- responsive to my several calls and text messages. The ameiglide employee who sold the lifts was simply useless and did not even once provided any empathy for my situation and failed big time at getting in rouch with ne regarding the many issues we experienced with this.
I will never use this company again and will not recommended to anyone!
My brother & I were recently faced with the fact that our mother was in need of a stairlift due to her progressive struggle to climb a flight of stairs in her home. After considerable research, we decided on Ameriglide. They were everything we hoped they would be. Unlike many other companies they put the needs of the consumer first. Cliff was absolutely terrific. Not only did he make the installation work in our slightly custom installation, but his demeanor & work ethic were second to none. My mom now enjoys her stairlift for a very reasonable price & we WILL recommend Cliff & Ameriglide to anyone who may be in need. They are truly looking out for the senior citizens & anyone else who need assisstance. GREAT JOB GUYS.
I ordered a lift chair on line. A couple of days later I got an email saying that the order was processed. They took charged my parents credit card on that same day. They said that it would ship in 8 days business days.(Which on the site, it said it was quick ship and would ship in 48 business hours which is another issue). After 3 and a half weeks I start calling to find out about my chair. I kept getting the runaround and being told that I needed to talk to the person that handles online orders. I left messages that were never returned and kept getting a recording saying to call back during business hours even though it was well within the business hours. After about 5 phone calls I complained to someone that wasn't the (right) person to talk to and she told me that the chair was out of stock and they were not restocking it and that I needed to pick a different chair.
Why did they charge the credit card if the chair couldn't be ordered? Or why did they let me order it in the first place? Why was I never alerted that I could no longer order this chair? They should have taken the chair off line. They shouldn't have billed me for it. They shouldn't have told me it was going to ship in 8 business days. They should have emailed and called to let me know. The first person I talked to on the phone should have been able to tell me that they could not ship the chair I ordered. When I left a message, someone should have called me back later that day or at least the next day. I could go on and on.
I would not recommend doing business with this company.
I just hope I don't have trouble getting my money back.
