They lure you in with interesting content, then make it virtually impossible to view. Every link takes FOREVER to load, and 9 times out of ten the site with freeze completely. They also overlap ads, like when you try to watch a video some other one is playing at the same time and you can't turn it off. I have had it with you Answers and will no longer click on your tempting links! You suck!
Hire a writer that can engage your audience. Your stories are at times captavating, but always fall flat. I am always sad that I scrolled through 23 photos of something I already knew and have more information than the publisher.
There are a couple articles on Answers.com that pique my interest and I'd love to read/see them; However, Answers.com takes a 10 minutes read and turns it into a 20 minutes read because they break the article up over several pages! Not to mention all the ads! The site loads all the ads first which takes up a lot of time since there are so many. The latest article I saw was a video and an ad with sound kept playing while the video was playing which was distracting. I had to pause my video 7 times to wait for the ad to get done playing! This site needs to either shut down or improve! (Also, the video was on the very last page. But, when I got to the second page in the article, the site crashed. I've had this happen every time I try to read any articles from this site and I've come to expect this for every article! It's ridiculous!)
Their headlines are tempting but it takes forever to read through an article, assuming you don't get thrown out altogether! It's guaranteed to freeze or crash and a complete waste of time - it should be removed or improved!
Recently clicked on a link to answers. Top 10 type thing. 4 clicks through and I'm still on the first one, split mid sentence every time then when you click to the next page it jumps about on the screen and ads are thrown in your face some more. It really is pathetic excuse for a site. If it was 1 whole section per page then maybe I wouldn't mind so much but you have to jump through so many links to read a whole article if you can even call it that. I wish people would stop sharing links to this horrible little site
Answers.com is prime example of pure corporate greed at its worst. The owners of answers.com should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. Unfortunately, I'm sure they are making more money than ever. However, the website is overflowing with ads, they practically put ads on top of ads.
They make you click through 30+ pages with every square inch packed to the edges with ads just to get through one clickbait story that could have easily been told in just ONE page. If your internet connection is not top speed, forget getting through their 'stories' in a meaningful amount of time. One of the worst websites around today, absolutely disgusting.
Answers.com is the worst kind of junk web site on the internet, with the exception of sites promoting terrorism, I suppose, although still. Tough call. Just how anyone could imagine that annoying the heck out of every. Single. Visitor to the site, guaranteeing that every person goes away screaming profanity to their god and pulling their hair out, is a good business strategy, I can't imagine. I understand making money on ads is their primary reason they exist, but surely there must be a limit. Surely they could design a reasonably user-friendly site with ads, which allowed users to read the information they came for, while seeing maybe 50,000 ads in 3 minutes, as opposed to 5 billion ads in 3 minutes, where ads did not cover up the actual content you're trying to read, and where all ads could be quickly closed if they were obtrusive. Alas, such is not the case I guess. This site is a disgrace. It is an eyesore. It bogs down your CPU, and practically crashes you're computer if you linger more than a few minutes. It's such a shame too, because earlier incarnations of this site, such as FAQ-Farm, were so fun to use, and earned legions of loyal users. I hope someone from Answers.com is reading these comments and sees the error of their ways.
Literally no wit or value to any article I have ever clicked through. Truly one of the worst sites on the web.
Since nobody, really NOBODY can get reliable answers on Answer.com, one wonders why they are in business. Why do they have ad revenue?
Advertisers like the fact that Answer.com has figured out how to seize a top spot in search results, mostly when people type a question into a search box. They don't care that the user is universally disappointed on arrival at answers.com, they are just happy that answers.com is willing to stick ads in your face before you can read what idiots who pretend to knowledge on a topic post there.
It must also be pleasing to advertisers that answers.com will play unsolicited audio that you have to root out to turn off, usually having to leave the site just for peace and quiet.
I went to the site tempted by the promise of a clever response from a waitress to a rude customer. I gave up after 12 pages of a meandering story, 1 sentence at a time. Guess I'll never know the "answer". Maybe they don't either.
Worst website ever to load. The articles appear worthy but they do not load. Yahoo should take it down until it is made more user friendly. I don't even do there anymore. Fix it or delete it!
Ads auto play and overlap each other so you have 3 ads playing at once at different speeds and can't understand or hear any of the messages. The pages take forever, if ever, to load. This is the crappiest website ever.
Worst web site ever. Will never use again, Takes a million clicks and lots of down time and never worth it!
Every single one of the web developers for this advertising $#*!fest need to have a bullet in the back of the head
In trying to read what was ostensibly a short article, I had to click through literally dozens and dozens of pages.
It's ludicrous.
Answers.com made their money from my clicks in the cheapest possible way, but that's going to be it forever because I will never, ever read anything on Answers.com again.
How many $#*!ing times do I have to post this?
I should NOT have to click "next" 60 God-forsaken times to see 20 God damned pictures.
$#*! you, $#*! your mother, daughter, niece, sibling and $#*! your $#*!-stained $#*!-sucking $#*! of a grand mother.
Never again will I visit this $#*!ing site. $#*! them.
Answer.com is worthless... No question just a complaint. Takes on average of 10 minutes to load each of their pages even with high speed broad band!
You have a product that people want to see. But the service is worse than the old school 14 kb dial up modems.
Can't stand the site, all they do is tell you about lists, and you'll have to go through a number of slides, with a very brief description about each item, instead of putting all the information about each item on one slide, just to get to the next item on the list. It is annoying and very slow.
As I said, Answers is an ad site, nothing more. Most of the stuff they have listed is just to get you to search their site. All they have is ADs. Period. Just a junk way of selling ad space.
Uh. where do I ask a question, in the green bar, yeah, i don't see a green bar
Answer: Same I dint get an awnser
Answer: The content is meaningless fluff, so don't worry about reading any articles from Answers.com as their site has anything but answers. It's a clicklbait site designed to draw the curious in and lock their computers so they stare at the ads waiting indeterminable amounts of time for the next slide to load. Stay away, it's a trap.
