Horrible user experience. It's a shame that the sometimes interesting content is embedded in such absolute garbage design. Especially detest that they spread one image literally across three pages by changing just the caption. So for 10 images they harvest 30+ page views. Of course the load time is horrendous. Navigation is like trying to find the light switch in the dark. Love how they place advertisements in close proximity to the content with fake navigation arrows to bait you into accidentally clicking the ad. Come on, really? If Ray Charles designed websites, they would look like Answers.com.
We live in a world where the internet is full of interesting, engaging content, presented in a well-designed way. You wont find that part of the internet on Answers.com.
Their current ad campaign on Facebook is obtrusive and unceasing. Every day, I see another ad from one of Answer's many, many Facebook Pages. Instead of putting all their budget on adverts, I suggest they invest a portion into building content.
Terrible terrible terrible website. The 4 and 5 star reviews here could only have come from employees of the site. They should all be ashamed, and probably are. Can we petition to get this site shut down? I've never felt like so much time, effort, and money are being wasted than I have when trying to navigate Answers.com.
Here's an answer: Stop.
If there was a zero I would give it that. This has to be the worst site ever. Have never managed to read an entire article as it is just too annoying waiting for it to change pages. As someone pointed out earlier, do the advertisers realize no one will ever read the ads they are paying for?
It can't give us any answers because NO ONE CAN LOAD ANYTHING! Your excruciatingly slow website makes it impossible to use. I agree with a previous reviewer, I wonder if anyone who advertises on this site actually realizes it is a waste of their marketing dollars
Slow, worse that recalls of dial up. Too many ads, waste of time. Avoid at all cost, unless you want to do dishes while each page loads.
Like anyone that actually clicked on a link to their site I experienced mindboggling load times for all the ads they stuff into each page. Those ads slow things down to such an extent that I'm planning to go to some of their advertisers and get them to investigate how their money is being spent. I don't think I've ever been able to wait for a whole page to load since they get several active media ads going at one time. Two videos running at the same time just drown each other out. Beyond stupid.
answer.com sucks! When I'm on yahoo and directed to their site once I get there It's like having the old dial up internet. You'll sit there forever before the page loads. What a sad site! I will avoid it it as much as possible.
They post what is politically correct even if its incorrect
I've seen some interesting posts that have been sponsored on Facebook, only to be riddled with advertisements when I click on the link to the Answers.com site. These adverts slow the website down so much that it is nigh on impossible to navigate to the next section of the post. Also, make sure you turn your speakers down when you visit this website as you'll usually get a random advertisement video start automatically playing with sound. Awful if you ask me.
This site blows! You could have the best content EVER and manage to F$%K it the F$%K up by piling a F$%KING MILLION adds that effectively disable the site for users!
Way to go Answers.com... you're $#*!e.
Sincerely,
Never a viewer
This website should be included in every course on web design as to how NOT to engineer a web project. It's an absolutely failure in every imaginable aspect: from content - to composition - to performance. A remarkable example of sheer incompetence.
Slow, way too much loading except for the stuff you came to see. Stay away
This site is so bad, whenever I see something that might be interesting, I look to see if it comes from answers.com. If it does, I don't even bother clicking it. If it's a list of top 10 or top 20, I can never get past the 1st one because it's trying to load some huge page of crap I didn't want to see, before it lets me go to the next page. Totally useless!
Site is awful, way to much trying to happen. Should not need multiple click to navigate. Slow, freezes up, just a bad site.
Very poorly designed site - slow with a ton of useless videos which play automatically.
Double click needed where a single click should do and reloads for no reason.
It's all about the clicks... the more you click, the more they make! Really? That many clicks on one part of that subject? And, suddenly it freezes up? Avoid this site at ALL costs...
I avoid this site at all costs. I admit their topics have peaked my interest from time to time, meanwhile, once I see "answers.com" as the sponsor and I move on past it. The website is entirely to slow... kinda like the old "dial up" when signing on to AOL back in the day.
Torture, the best way to describe navigating this website. They seem to have interesting topics, but getting to the information requires far more patience and effort than should be required. I am certain the web developers of this website have never attempting accessing the website as a typical user would, otherwise they would fix this monstrosity.
Answer: Same I dint get an awnser
Answer: The content is meaningless fluff, so don't worry about reading any articles from Answers.com as their site has anything but answers. It's a clicklbait site designed to draw the curious in and lock their computers so they stare at the ads waiting indeterminable amounts of time for the next slide to load. Stay away, it's a trap.
