I would give 0 * if that was an option! I placed an order for a dishwasher, a month ago they took the money,delivery date set.my husband took a day off work. Mid morning they text to say because of a technical fault the order had been cancelled. I mean angry is not the word. Customer service and online chat next to useless. And the money won't be credited back to our account for at least 5 days! Absolutely won't be buying from Argos/sainsbury again.

I ADVISE NEVER TO SHOP AT ARGOS!
Order *******584 was delivered and the product 462/6930 was damaged. Had a chat with a representative. Refund was issued and received an SMS. Then the chat broke, since everything was confirmed and an SMS was sent I was expecting a refund to my account. Waited a month and got no refund. Contacted Customer Service and was told that it was not confirmed and the SMS was sent out of their control. Who sends the SMS. Never rely on Argos. Everything was confirmed. Never shopping there again!

Appalling service

I've never had so bad experience with a shop before. I've spent endless hours the past week on the phone. Everything they arrange is wrong (delivery, collection, replacement) and I have to call them back every day to ask them to do it again. Started with a missing/damaged box and 5 days later I have 3 huge boxes, no refund and no collection arranged. There are no words to describe how bad my experience has been with Argos.

On top of that I paid with Nectar points and I can't be refunded in anything but an Argos voucher. So I'm forced to shop with them again to use it!

Scammer! DONT USE THIS BRAND!

I ordered an table with 4 chairs, after I lost over 3 hours assembling the item I realise that The last chair front leg of the item was damaged I call costumer service on *******2020 and they LIE that they don't have this item in stock to order or delivery even when I explain I can see order it online and receive it same day delivery they say that they don't have it on stock but they can offer me £10 gift card in order to keep the broken chair keep in mind the item cost is £200 after I tell them that is not an option at all as is not a minor issue like a scratch or something and is a major damage that make the item unusable they say that they can rearrange collection but I need to disassemble the item put it on the original package and then I will receive the refund with in 30 days do I lost 3 hours in assembling and now I will start disassemble and I will receive my money back in 30 days eventually as I can see several comments that people waiting for months and months for refund and don't receive it so the greedy owners can keep the interest or work with peoples money by sending out broken items that they know you will have to return or trash clearly a scam! Definitely that was the last time I ever gonna purchase anything from Argos the customer experience have become the worst thing ever since this brand has been both by Sainsbury!

Laptop lost in Argos service

Chromebook broke down within one year warranty period in December 2022. I took it to Argos Keighley where it was bought.

Now three months is passed. The laptop cannot be found. I have a paper receipt from Argos, showing that it was left for service at Keighley Argos.

When the staff could not find it, they asked: "Are you sure it was left to service here at Keighley?" I just pointed the computer printout from themselves saying "KEIGHLEY". What was the response "Yeah but no but...I dont know". Reminded me of Vicky Pollard.

On top, they claimed that the charger did not have a year warranty so it seems that they are selling grey imports, as all legally imported laptops have a genuine UK charger - which do have a warranty.

Just absolutely substandard performance from Argos. My advise: never buy anything electrical from them.

Faulty Bush television

Bought a Bush TV last May. Had to return it in January as no internet connection and sound crackling. Was away for exactly a month. Today the picture disappeared and there was a thin purple line down the screen. Argos insist it must be sent for repair again. I have no confidence in either the TV or the repairs and would like a refund but they insist it must be sent for repair again as it's a different fault. Ten month old TV away for repair twice. Not happy.

Worst Customer service

I would like to change the delivery method from Store pick up to home delivery. But do not have an option to do that online. When I tried to reach the customer service it keeps me on hold for 30 mins for twice. One of the worst customer service

DISAPPOINTED FROM YOUR SERVICE!

The delivery drivers delivered my fridge today and before start opening the package the bottom of the package was open. The bottom and the body of the Fridge also the compressor was damaged and now I have to wait another 2 days for a new delivery in total 6 days without fridge this is ridiculous. To deliver a item, that you already know it was damaged from the drivers or whoever... You did amazing job congrats to this one's

I can only say i have had the must friendly & helpful attention from all staff, particularly Pete who went our of his way to help & obtain replacement Products.

DONT ORDER XMAS GIFTS FROM ARGOS

DO NOT ORDER YOUR CHTRISTMAS GIFTS FROM ARGOS. THEY ARE UNABLE TO DELIVER THEM. I PLACED AN ORDER ON THE 18TH FOR DELIVERY ON THE 19TH DECEMBER, I HAVE STAYED IN ALL DAY AND THE ORDER HAS NOT ARRIVED. HAVING CALLED ARGOS THEY CANT CONFIRM WHY IT WASNT DELIVERED (BLAMED THE SNOW BUT THERE IS NONE AS IT ALL MELTED YESTERDAY, ITS 13 DEGREES OUTSIDE!) OR GUARANTEE WHEN IT WILL BE REDELIVERED. THEY THEN PLACED ME ON HOLD FOR 25 MINUTES WHILE THEY WENT TO FIND OUT BUT NEVER RETURNED AND JUST ENDED THE CALL. I DONT KNOW IF I WILL GET IT IN TIME FOR CHRISTMAS AND HAVE PRECIOUS LTTLE TIME TO REORDER. THE SUPPORT STAFF MEMBER I SPOKE TO WAS EXTREMELY APATHETIC AND CLEARLY DID NOT CARE ABOUT ARGOS CUSTMERS AT ALL, OBVIOUSLY PLACED ME ON HOLD THEN HUNG UP ON ME INTNETIONALLY. FRUSTRATING EXPERIENCE ALL ROUND. I WILL PAY £10 MORE AND ORDER FROM JOHN LEWIS NEXT TIME.

Rude sarcastic customer service

I asked.argos to collect a faulty Toshiba television that smelt of burning l was met with sarcasm by a customer representative who said ow I'm scared...I'm shaking in my boots.when l said l would use the faulty television and blame them if it caught fire.they refused me a refund they insisted I had to have an exchange.faulty items under law are supposed to be refunded especially dangerous ones.
L had been trying to ring them for a week Argos are unhelpful I'm a pensioner whose father fought for these horrible ignorant people to make sure they were safe...I'm disgusted by this abhorrent behaviour

Stolen order

Ordered a mobile phone. The driver stole it from the box and replaced it with air freshener. Four days of lengthy phone calls with Argos and they didn't sort it.
Avoid at all costs. Dreadful

My son purchased a laptop from Argos Mansfield in August. The laptop has developed a fault, so we went back to the store with the receipt to sort it out. We were advised that the company policy is that WE the customer have to phone lenovo to obtain a reference number to then go back to store, the store call lenovo to corroborate it's a valid ref number for the store then to send it away for repair! Also whilst all of this is happening, my son is unable to use the laptop for his studdies... i purchased the laptop from Argos not Lenovo, where are my consumer rights in all of this? How is this practice ethical? Never again will i spend a penny with Argos,,,,,,,

Argos. Do we need them?

We ordered a curtain pole set from Argos on-line. I t was not in stock at our local branch, (Frome), and we were told that it would be ready for collection next day. This was on Friday therefore it would be available for collection on Monday. The item was duly paid for and the deal was done, or so we thought. We received an email from Argos on the Monday saying that the order was cancelled and a refund would be paid within five working days. There was no reason given, very strange. I then contacted Argos by phone asking why this had happened, no reason was given and I was told to re-order the item. Fair enough these things happen. I went to re-order only to find that the curtain pole set was increased by five pounds more than on the original order. Than was obviously why they cancelled the order! I then contacted them again by phone to ask for an explanation, telling them that the deal was done and the item had been paid for, if it had been in stock on the Friday of the order it would have already been collected. I was told to order the item again from the store this time and it would be up to the manager whether I would be charged at the original price. The manager saved the day by agreeing to this.
In answer to the above title question, 'Do we need them', well, probably not. Shopping around on line various prices will probably be found to be cheaper.

Very poor return experience

Purchased an Apple Watch Ultra from Argos, as I didn't want to wait 2 weeks for it to come from Apple (huge mistake, I should've waited).

Once received, I realised the watch was way too big for my wrist, and wanted to return it. Mind you the device was just tried on, with all the accessories and original packaging.

Went to Argos at Crown Point in Leeds to return it, but to my surprise my return was refused, due to the item being unsealed. The lady who I dealt with was pronouncing resealable, resalable, and when I realised this, I decided to submit my return request online and have the item collected.

I've been told to wait in my office until 9 in the evening, but the item wasn't collected.

Called on Saturday to re-arrange a collection, Monday I've waited in my office until 7 in the evening, the driver, again, did not come to collect the package.

After 6 calls with Argos customer service, 3 live chat interactions, 2 store visits, I am still waiting for the item to be collected.

If you were in my shoes, would you ever buy from Argos ever again? I don't think so.

A complaint will be filed with trading standards for not accepting the return for an item that was in line with their return requirements. I am running a small e-commerce company, and we accept unsealed items for return, but apparently, Argos does not.

Shame on you Argos!

Scammers

Been living in our front room due to building work the last 14 weeks but needed a cot set for our newborn.

Couldn't put it up for two months due to the building work, just found out that the mattress is too small (still in wrapper). Spent over £1000 with Argos in this order so thought they wouldn't mind an exchange, but nope!

The online agent promised a management call back which didn't happen. Called today, kept on hold for 30 minutes while the team leader did anything they could to not take the call.

Eventually 'Paul' took the phone (said no one would have called me back because it was outside the 30 days and stuttered when I asked why his advisor said that one would and I would hope that a management call back is the very very basic backbone of any half decent business) but couldn't wrap his head around the issue. Have to be honest the call in question would be comical to listen too

Asked for escalation process and his full name, which he refused to give (not sure what he thought I was going to do with it). It wouldn't actually surprise me if he lied about it.

Never ever going to buy here again, awful company! I remember when I was younger they even got banned from having work experience students because they just used them for slave labour.

Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere that at least give some better customer service like a slap round the face every time you buy something.

Update in regards to their comment: If they valued their customer and had an ounce of compassion or business sense, they'd realise how stupid they are. What makes this van worse is that they do this all the time! Check out your local FB and you'll see so many people they've mugged off! BOYCOT ARGOS

Negarive review of a product rejected
July 27, 2022

I purchased a duffel bag from Argos in UK. It did not last a single flight. Argos did not stand behind their sale: they suggested to return the bag to the store. This was impractical in my case: I do not reside in UK. I wrote a negative review in response of their request, and Argos declined to publish it. What can I conclude from this? Only that reviews on their site cannot be trusted.
