Congratulations and many thanks to AVS support team for assistance in solving errors by processing files with AVS Video Editor. I have been using AVS software since 2012 and it was the first time I needed help. However, the problem (errors code 13 and *******) has been due to the internet security software and not AVS. The best possible solution to avoid errors at processing or converting files seems to be completly disabled security software.

This is by far the best user friendly software I have ever used. I like having the ability to change coding properties that other software packages dont have. AVS4You does things other software lacks. I like AVS4You so much I have purchased seven license keys over the last seven years and the price out ways other software that is slower to complete the job at hand and less features. Tech support is the best of any company I have delt with. Sent a trouble ticket today and get an answer tomorrow. Many of my friends now use AVS4You and nothing else. Thank you for a product well built.

I purchased an "Unlimited License" approximately 9 years ago and this program has worked wonderfully on my last three computers, up until now...
I am no longer allowed to use this program, on my new computer without purchasing a new license. When I purchased this program it was "In good faith" and I was led to believe that I could use this program for "Life". I spent quite a bit of money to have a "lifetime" license to be able to use these products.
Please do not support this company as they should now be considered to have a bad reputation and seem to have become greedy as well. They will not stand behind the customers that they have had for almost a decade and they are refusing to honor their commitment to the customers.
After numerous attempts to resolve this issue with AVS, I give up and will go to another program for my needs. There are free programs that are more useful anyways... cough cough "Handbrake" cough cough!

I have been using 2 AVS licenses since 2009. Over the years, as better hardware has developed, I have upgraded to new machines over time.

They recently changed their "lifetime upgrades" policy to "lifetime on ONLY that 1 computer". The hard drive crashed on our video processing computer, and when I replaced the hard drive with a new one I found out that I had to buy another license for AVS since it is now "only for the machine on which it was originally installed". I could not get them to understand that it was still the same machine, just a new, non-corrupt hard drive.

They are willing to offer you 20-30% discounts on another license, but the old license is now dead.

Additionally, they do not understand 64 bit questions. When you ask if there is a 64 bit code base, they will repeatedly tell you that the current product runs on 32 and 64 bit windows OS, they just don't seem to understand that you may be looking for a 64 bit product.

Gave up on trying to reason with support and went with Wondershare products. MUCH faster and the support so far has been great.

Since writing this review, I have been contacted repeatedly by the sales team at AVS. They set up a new account (different than my original account) and offered me 50% off on a new "lifetime" license on a single machine.

Seems that they STILL do not understand the concept of a "lifetime" license... nor do they care to fix the original problems.

First of all, if you are an investigator or in the legal field, this software is the best. If you are looking for adding time / date stamp on your video, this is the best software I have found beyond any doubt. I was given a cracked version by somebody, tried it once and purchased a few legit copies. This is a lot easier than my other software purchases at ten times the price. Consider what you are getting, the value of this software is beyond worth it. I was only interested in one of the many programs AVS4YOU offers, but then I realized how useful the others are, which are also included, which is unbelievable! Now regarding the fact that you can only use on one computer; before I purchased, I was more than irritated that I could not put on my laptop and desktop with one purchase. I thought they have nerve telling me what computers I can put my purchased program on when only I am using it. So before I purchased, I sent an email, to customer service. The email I sent was not exactly nice, but the fast response and a solution to my problem was a very big surprise. Not only did this company gain a life long customer, but they will get many referrals from me. When I find a company that treats me well, I treat them well. If you have a problem, just email them, the customer service is great.

They are trying to prevent pirates and also keep in mind that they are in business to make money and provide a good product... support them so they can!

I bought the unlimited licence a number of years ago (5+) but now on purchasing a new computer I have found out that the licence cannot be transferred so will have to purchase a new licence. This is misleading at best, a scam at worst.

I note that the current FAQ has the below statement, I couldnt comment on what it said 5 years ago, but I don't remember said restriction. The below applies even if your old computer is junked.

"As AVS4YOU software is licensed on a per-computer basis, you will need to purchase a separate UNLIMITED or 1-YEAR license for every new computer."

I upgraded to the latest package level from a version purchased in 2007. They recognized my past loyalty and provided a discount to an already very competitively priced product. The packaged 11 tools are just outstanding and well worth price. It installs smoothly without a glitch. The user interfaces are wonderful and easy. The functions are powerful but not too complex. It doe not contain any bloatware or viruses. It does the job! Their web-site only support mechanism is the best. It's correct, that you can not call or email them, but instead they've instituted a procedure where you sign into your own account and obtain all the assistance you would likely ever need via an electronic form that is answered promptly. I highly recommend the product and their team of true professionals. Well Done!

It is a great program and it is easy to use. These facts alone make it a worthwhile purchase. However, when you add in the excellent customer service you discover the true value of the company.

I purchased the program several years ago and I have had to contact them three times due to problems with my computer and not the software. Each time they responded quickly and professionally.
