For many years I have been customer of this retailer!
For last year or so they're priced doubled and tripled, while customer service, quality is drastically declined!
It is getting even worse the shortcomings of managment and training issues generate significant problem for consumers! If you come to the store and you do not have receipt or item was gifted to you, you will be asked if you want a store merchandise credit to spend in the store! DO NOT EVER agree to that scam! Company uses a third party retail that counts returns without receipt and next time you're ambushed with surprise that you returns denied! Company is literally working in counseling with this third party organization to defraud their customers! It is not disclosed in their return policy that the minute you agreed to return you gift or your list your receipt returns with out it counting against you, and "friendly" customer service representative in the store advise you just put on gift card for you?!
We as consumers should be able to be protected against dishonest retailer like banana republic.
I filed formal complaint to BBB to protect my rights as consumer, no respond!
Looks like we consumers have no protection which is not right! I'm would never shop at this retail again, and returning all items I have ever bought from them.
Please be advise do not use this retailer!
Loved the non-iron mens dress shirts and bought them all of the time. Now they have wrinkle resistant which are terrible quality. Bring those non-iron dress shirts back please!
I purchased 2 pairs of pants, not knowing which size would fit best. I was going on a 2 week trip to Italy. I ordered the pants on April 1st and received them on the 8th. One week later I was flying to Italy. After my return I called the customer service line on May 4th and was told it was to late to return my pants. These are pants that are new and have never been worn. Not even 30 days old. They would not accept my return. The poorest customer service ever. This will be the last time I buy from Banana Republic. Very dissatisfied!
This brand used to represent luxury, beauty and function in design, and aspirational fashion but sadly it has deteriorated over time specially after Marka Hansen stepped down. Its designs lack inspiration, freshness and edginess and the brand lacks direction and clarity in vision. I don't understand their aesthetics. Their sizing is off, too. Gone are the modern and beautiful designs, replaced by boring and tacky ones.
I went online for a final sale of jeans. I ordered a 27 size in final sale. I am a 27 waist and they fall off of me. They will not exchange. I'm livid. I will NEVER NEVER order or buy from any of their stores online or anywhere. They don't care about a 2.7 rating I suppose. They don't care period. They just want the money. And to get rid of a supply that is left. Horrible Horrible Horrible company. And so overpriced. People don't ever a final sale unless it's a true size that was supposed to be. Horrible phone customer service! Literally falling off my waist. GREED! Don't deserve a one star, but no choice here. YEP

After years of being a loyal customer I finally have to say that the customer service for returns is very poorly.
Hardly reduced items are final sales and customers are forced to keep their online orders. The prices have increased greatly but not the quality of the clothing. Banana Republic doesn't provide any more a good customer service. There are many more good retailers out there where I will shop from now on.
I made an online purchase at 6pm during the week and gave them a call (Banana Republic customer service) same day at 7pm to cancel my purchase. I also followed up the status of my purchase everyday until I received an email two days later that they shipped the item. This is ridiculous and it's very clear to me they received my cancelation request yet it was the policy of their office to not proceed with the cancellation. They knew the item is final sale and if they ship it they will not accept the return so they decided to make profit this way. Last purchase there, good luck with your deceiving business Banana republic!
I also want to mention that there is a big difference between ordering online from home or do it in store. For example, there was a pant which wasn't available in store but it was available online. I asked the cashier in Banana republic store to order it online for me and I pay it in store. The cashier told me ok and it will be $97. I was surprised when later I noticed the same item if I ordered it myself was just $25 in website. That's a 300% difference.
Also during my calls to the customer service, they were providing me contradicting information all the time (i.e. Lying to me) The first person told me online cancellation is just available in the first 30 min. The second one told just in the 5-10 min. The third one told me in the first hour and in the website it says in the first 45 min. I told them about the contracting information and they just said we are sorry but no matter what, online cancellation is not guaranteed.
I didn't know, banana republic has so lengthy time period for returning of goods and items, it is already more than 1 month, and I had to call more than 3 times to know about the update. And while checking update I can see the package is still in transit not even delivered. Are you kidding me, in one month? Looks like, they only want to push back my reimbursement. Beside that I am finding most of their product that are sale like 50 percent discount, the products are quality less and not reasonable the amount I paid. So, I would like to give only one * to this company.
I bought a jumpsuit on line size small and it came in huge,I called them but they refused to exchange or return.This is. Big rip off. A big company like them can afford to make an exception to please their customers

I recently purchased an item online, which didn't fit properly and now I would like to return it and its final sale, so I'm stuck with the item. The Company will not make any exceptions, online purchases should never be final sale, that should be illegal. How is Banana Republic not backing their product? They not only doubled the prices of their clothes during the pandemic, they have also basically terminated all costumer service. I'm so disappointed in this company, what a shame.
This brand used to be good but that was decades ago and now tney dont even have cusomer service! Must have been after hours in the Philliphines! Lol
They have a sizing guide so when you buy you think you are getting the right size.
Then when it comes, it doesn't fit.
And guess what, they don't let you return or exchange it!
I just wasted over $200 on my order. Will never order again from them.

I placed an order for pants for work on 9/25/22. It is now New Years Eve. Its been over 3 months and no pants, I call to see whats going on or to get a credit so ai can order more pants because I never received them. The tracking says awaiting pick up from carrier so they never left the facility it looks like. I was just told they cannot give me a refund or store credit because its been so long. Whose fault it that? I've been waiting for these to show up. If you're out of stock or theres an issue on your end fix it. Would that let me speak to a manager. I would not order here. They are literally stealing by taking your money and not sending you what you ordered in exchange.
I'm 6'5" and look for nice T-shirts that are tall and extra large. BR t-shirts seemed to fit the bill. However, their Luxe Touch Performance t-shirts shrank after one wash and the collars are wrinkled. I do not recommend buying these shirts. I do like their Premium Wash shirts as they seem to hold up fine after washing.
I ordered my item with 2-3days shipping, however the confirmation email and tracking information said that it won't deliver for 10 more days so I called the customer service. They changed what they said ( they can reorder for next day shipping and then they said they can't, etc…) They put me hold 3-4times and after I talked to them for 1 hour, they still couldn't help me anything. So I just gave it up. I will never buy anything from Banana Republic ever again.
I used my Banana Republic card exclusively for the last three months in order to save up points to buy a new winter wardrobe. The clothes are ill fitting and actually quite ugly. The herringbone seafarer pants are massive! According to their description, the model was 5 foot 10. I am 5 foot 10 and thin. The pants definitely don't hang on me like they hung on her. I looked like a clown. They brushed marl pants are nothing more than pajamas and I couldn't possibly be seen in those in public. I didn't notice that the turtleneck description said there was a seam down the back. Who does that? I could find a better style and fit at JCPenney. The only thing worth keeping is The alpaca sweater. It's cuddly soft although a bit scratchy at the same time.
I recently ordered a pair of corduroy pants from Banana Republic by using THEIR size guide. The chart showed that I should order a certain size, so I did, since I have never ordered pants from Banana Republic before. I trusted that their size guide was correct.
The pants came, but they did not fit, so I took them all the way downtown to the brick & mortar to return them. On the receipt, it stated that the sale was a final one, but I figured since it wasn't my mistake, that such a large store would be happy to help a customer. I was wrong. The manager told me I had to send it back to get a refund since it WAS a final sale, and she couldn't do anything, even if it was the website's error. I asked if she could do anything at the store (like a store credit?) but I was refused. It is bad enough that the manager was unwilling to accommodate, she raised her voice and scoffed at me because I felt that she could have done a store credit.
So I got a few pair of jeans as a gift from a relative and surprisingly they don't fit as well as my other jeans I have, so I looked at returning or exchanging them to a different size unfortunately I was unable to do that as it was a sale item and they DO NOT let you exchange or return sale items that have been purchased online or in the store PERIOD! They gave me a Thred Up option LOL which gives you a store credit the credit was not even close to the purchase price of the jeans so my only option is to keep them and eat a million Burgers to make them fit or try and sell them to someone else what a rip off will never purchase from this company again
