CT auto batteries
September 4, 2021

CT had lifetime warranty on eliminator auto batteries. Ct is refusing to honour there
Lifetime warrantys, customers paid extra for it. CT use bait and switch practices. Refusing to honour lifetime warranties, manager telling customer you have to pay another $100 +more for battery an will not give you lifetime warranty. Or switching you to there motomaster lesser rated batterys, Because your eliminator battery is discontinued.
Deceptive practices changing paperwork, with errors, so you won't get lifetime battery next time.
Then Telling customer 'it doesn't matter.'
The CT stores are hiding there eliminator battery s in the back an getting customers
To buy there cheap motomaster battery that lasts under 2 years. Does not work in -30 in winter. To get you to buy
Charger, tow charges, etc when batts stops. Telling customer to go back to another ct store for lifetime warranty, where there store does not have to give you free lifetime battery. Manager Will not allow customer to use customer service phone
You have to use a pay phone outside. 2021 Bell Has taken pay phones out, as they don't want you calling CT complaints line. It's
CT big SCAM to never give you a free eliminator battery.

Disgusting return policy. Tried to return a defective Singer M3100 sewing machine that the Singer people told me to return. Canadian Tire would only exchange it for another one of the same defective model. Machine only used once and less than 7 days old.

Horrible policy. I am still stuck with a defective sewing machine

Lost a loyal Canadian Tire customer...

If you depend on a decent wheelchair or electric cart to be provided by the Canadian Tire store - forget it! Walmart, Safeway, Extrafoods seem to have no problem providing this service.

Why I will not shop there? Very poor customer service. Easy to read apologies. Never to deliver on commitments. No wonder you cannot contact by e-mail!

Extremely poor service. Exceptionally poor return service... even if having receipt and original boxes too.
Canadian tire money as NOT real money... they have no right to deduct that off your money on returns if you denied the canadian tire money to begin with... thid is illegal.
Online shopping to store pickup is a joke.
Lack of store to store transfer for items is a prehistoric standard.
This is a company issue... this is a company standard issue... this is a company policy issue.

Over all... Canadian Tire... you fail

Our Canadian Tire has recently added a small Party City section to its store. I ordered balloons for my husband's 65th birthday and paid a much higher rate than other local suppliers but it was convenient or so I thought. It was a confusing process to place the order but eventually got done and I was asked when I wanted them. I requested pick up after 5 on June 30th since it was a surprise for my husband's July 1st birthday. I received an email on the 28th that they were ready. I called to ask why and was told that I didn't get an email(?) and basically told I was wrong even though I was looking at the email but I was also assured the balloons weren't ready. Then at supper on the 29th the store called my home, my husband answered and he was told our balloons were ready. Needless to say, I again questioned why they were ready early and was rudely told because they are. It was obvious that the person on the phone didn't want to bother with me. So I went the next morning to pick up the order. No one was at the Party City counter and although the staff at customer service saw me standing there for 10 minutes, I had to walk over there to ask if anyone was available for a balloon pick up. I can't believe how inept some of the staff are there. We used to have an amazing store but it's quickly gone down hill at a rapid rate

Noma dehumidifier
June 27, 2021

Bought my first one and it failed by the time I tried to use it the following season.
Got partial warranty from store manager in brampton.
Now second one has failed 2 years after.
Was told by canadian tire to contact manufacturer on line, site is useless and did not work.
Look elsewhere if you want a dehumidifier

Covid policy?
June 17, 2021

Paying my bill at till and noticed that the man standing behind me was without a mask. Everyone else was wearing a mask. How did he get into the store without a mask? We were checked at the front door by an employee. Why was he not told to put one on or leave?

My nearest store is Lakeshore and Leslie, Toronto. I always make sure to check the availability of what I need and where it is in the store online first. Trying to get help in the store is next to impossible. The inventory levels are usually right as per the website. Ordering online is problematic. During the pandemic I ordered a bunch of stuff. It takes 2 days to leave the store. If they ship Purolator everything's terrific and I get the delivery the day after it ships. If they ship Canada Post, well, be patient. CT hasn't really got the whole idea of online shopping down properly yet. There's certainly room for improvement. The quality of the products are highly variable. If you look around you can find some really good deals. I've got a toaster that's now 2 1/2 years old and working great. It cost me $7.00. My vacuum is the same age and was on sale for just over $70.00. It's been amazing. There's crap there too. Just be careful.
My computer has erased the invoices I had, so I can't be a verified purchaser. If this site allows it, I'll update this with an invoice or something to prove I actually use this company.

Several times, I have noticed that if my review was positive, they would allow it.

BUT, in the case where I bought a product that was not very good and that I mention it in a review, they always send me a message saying: your review has been moderated and cannot be posted. I found this very strange, as my reviews are always very polite, no errors in my writing... nothing wrong at all with them I guarantee it. So overall, this company is not being honest at all... they filter the reviews to keep the good ones and try to block as many negative review as possible.

Also, they will never tell you why they rejected your review (it makes sense: there is no reason for rejecting!). You cannot ask them either: their email is a "no-reply" email, which says it all about how much they care about their customers.

I am glad I was able to use this site to express my concerns about this company. I lost all trust in Canadian Tire, based on several bad experience with their dishonest review system.

Hope this helps,
Francis

I called into the store to see what was happening with my online order and I got a snotty customer service girl that answered the phone and an equally appalling supposed to be GM which I really doubt! Both extremely rude and obnoxious! Just was trying to get driveway sealer and I was told by the manager to lower my voice because I was disrespected by the girl that answered the phone and then the again "GM" hung up on me! I am a 56 year old man and I fed up with Canadian Tire! Especially this store! I will never step foot in that store again! Poor excuse of a retail store and the worst staff I have ever come across. When I have been in this store before they are all angry like your bothering them being in the store buying! Wow I will spend my money elsewhere! Canadian tire better wake up before they too go by the wayside! Better yet it's probably better that they do it's a horrible environment for a paying customer!

Visited Canadian Tire Lindsay today to buy some petunias, emerald cedars and pay the Triangle card bill. Had no luck on the flowers, did find the cedars at a price gouging number. Staff were hard to find and no prices posted on most products. The only one was on the trees and having purchased them before the price was out of line. $49.99 for 3-4 foot tree. Was expecting roughly $30.00. Went up the street and found the trees at $29.99 as expected and the desired plants. Also staff interested in assisting. On that note when that store was bought by new owner the first thing that went missing was senior we qualified staff. Share holders in Canadian tire should demand a balance of service, staffing, community, corporate integrity vs return on investment. This guy seems to be focused on the latter. Time to chuck Triangle card.

Had a knife my bf wanted said in the flyer was on sale - they had 12 in stock but store was too lazy to find them. Manager said we couldn't have a rain check but to come back in 2 days to see if they've been found! What great customer service.

DO NOT PURCHASE THE RED, WOODEN SEASONAL CHAIRS. Complete junk for a chair at a hefty price of $199 a chair. The paint has chipped off and the wood is rotting. Haven't even had the chairs 10 months. Took the receipt into the store and they refuse to do anything. Contacted customer service and nothing.
