After finally reaching customer service, this issue was addressed to my satisfaction. There is no way to undue the damage, but they did make an effort. For that, I will give Goldbelly another try.

I have used Goldbelly several times…but will never do so again. They offer premium products for premium prices, yet when they literally, or figuratively, fail to deliver, it is impossible to speak with a human being and email responses are untimely and useless. In short, their approach is to point the finger at either the shipper or food provider, they collect their fees, and if you have an issue, too bad. That is how they do business. Need a refund…too bad. Dinner didn't show up…too bad, not our fault. Someone needs to take these insensitive robber barons to court and shut them down. The photo below is a picture of nothing, because that is exactly what Goldbelly delivered when they had a week to do it. The only answer I could get from anyone (and it was via an email long after the meal was expected) was "we are monitoring it), which is BS because UPS didn't even know where it is!
Bad customer service. Product taste old and do not come packed as they say they should. Even if you receive a bad product they will not refund you but give you a credit for 1/4 of what you paid. Do NOT order from this place. If you receive a bad product they should give you a refund. They don't. I threw what I ordered away it was that bad. Then they come back and say to send them a picture. They overcharge for a bad product I wouldn't give you $5 for.

DISSATISFIED! Ordered the bouquet cupcakes for a bridal shower we were having for my daughter. I ordered them a month ahead and still did not receive them in time. Ended up at Publix for their delicious cupcakes and the Goldbelly cupcakes were left on my porch overnight until I was able to get someone to get them. Very dissatisfied! Thanks to PUBLIX we had beautiful cupcakes for this special occasion.

I order 3 boxed of chocolate. I sent them to myself and was shocked by how small/unremarkable these $40 gifts were. I ended up returning one due to damage, and recieved the replacement too late to gift so I sampled it myself... the chocolates were nothing special. Just like a box you would buy from Wal-Mart. Will never use Goldbelly again.

I placed 3 orders with Goldbelly over the holidays. One of those items was popcorn which was promised as fresh for 2 months. When opened shortly after arrival, the popcorn was stale and unappetizing. I asked Goldbelly for a resolution to this issue. They took no responsibility for the poor product. There is no way to review the product on their website. While Goldbelly's concept is great - delivery of products not easily available to the general public - their customer service and responsibility for products purchased through them are terrible. So purchase at your peril.

I received the trash can nachos as a gift 3 days before Christmas. Unfortunately the box it came in had no warning to keep cold. Upon opening on Christmas day I found moldy cheese, a bulging bean container, and slimey black cilantro among a single tepid ice packet. We couldnt risk eating the meat so it too was tossed. Gold Belly responded by saying their web page directs folks to keep cold so they "cannot resolve my complaint at this time".

I ordered two(expensive) pineapples from this company. Not only did they arrive a day late, but they were both rotted and had to be thrown away. I contacted the company and they would not give me a refund. They said they do not refund. Bad company that doesn't care about customer satisfaction.
I am updating this review on 1-18-22. I just received notice that Goldbelly is refunding my money for the rotted pineapple. I believe my review in Sitejabber helped them to change their mind about no refund. In the end, they did the right thing.

I ordered this cake for my nieces birthday. We were all so excited but that didn't last long. The cake was horrible. I've had freezer burned food in the past and that's what this inedible cake tasted like.
After multiple attempts to let goldbelly make this right, all they want to do is give me a coupon to order again.
Why would I order again when they didn't make the first order right?
This company takes your money and you get what you get and actually think you'll just order again after they failed so miserably.

We ordered 3 different kinds of bagels and 3 different meats with Swiss cheese from a NY deli. We got all plain bagels, pastrami and American cheese. There is NO WAY we would have ordered that. The ultimate proof is that NO ONE ON EARTH would want American cheese. They said the email confirm laid out the order and too f'in bad. I didn't read the email confirmation, which also included orders from four other restaurants— a total of $350 of food. Goldbelly's answer: There is nothing we can do. Have a nice day. They suck.

Im convinced that Goldbelly does not allow the negative reviews to be posted! There's too many external site negative reviews that doesn't add up to what is referenced on Goldbelly's site. I placed an order and both items from 2 different merchants had delayed shipping issues! One food item was delivered to a wrong address and that person opened the item. The other food item was clearly thrown into my driveway down the road, instead of being brought up to my door and ringing my bell, and the packaging was damaged and looked re-sealed. These are FOOD ITEMS! Goldbelly does NOT care! The customer service is NOT empathetic to the situations! They want you to treat your food purchase as if it is not an edible item! They want you to still take the damaged or already opened items and taste them to see if they were fresh, regardless of how they were handled before they got to you! This is absolutely disgusting! They overcharge purposely on the delivery, yet the delivery of food is horrible!

I ordered a fried Turkey which was to be Delivered on December 16th, me thinking if I order a week before sure there wouldn't be a problem in delivery. Well after three days of not receiving, I contacted the company to be told once the carrier picks up product it's out of their hands. I will never order again.

Order # ******* I ordered 2 smoked Turkey breasts and one ham. I stored and prepared according to directions. The meat was so dry, on all three! It was horrible, we threw it all out. I ordered food from mokbar delivery through goldbelly. Packaging was terrible with no padding in between items, packed only with 2 ice packs, raw pork poorly packaged exploded through packaging, all items were cracked and raw meat juices seeped into everything. I spent $165 and goldbelly did not refund my money. What a waste of money and a total disappointment for a very special gift. I don't have much money and this was very sad. Inedible and unsafe.

I was so excited to serve the PIeCacken at Thanksgiving. I had 12 foodies traveling in from all over the country to sit around my Thanksgiving table for the first time in 2 years! $100 seemed a reasonable price for a cake that encompasses a multitude of desserts and is just so beautiful to look at it. So gorgeous is this dessert... I set it up to have it's own table, with cake pedestal... just so people could admire it once it's sliced. Being foodies- I knew this would be quite a conversation piece. I scheduled for it to arrive Nov 23. The 23rd came and went with no cake, no email, no notification whatsoever from GoldBelly. No Tracking Number online. No one picking up the Customer Service Line. I sent an email and prayed... and waited. Nov 24 arrived- and still no word from GoldBelly. I was able to buy some pies at the local market, so all was not lost- but it was not the dinner I had envisioned. At some point in the late afternoon on Weds before Thanksgiving I received a response from GoldBelly that the manufacturer was having a delay. My PieCacken would be coming one week later. For my inconvenience I would be receiving a credit for $15 if I spent $99. I told them I no longer needed the pumpkin, pecan pie cake AFTER Thanksgiving (seriously?), and I don't need a discount on a new purchase! Bad... BAd... BAD customer service all the way around. Be very careful when ordering that you give yourself time to receive item./ and have a backup if it doesn't arrive.

We can never guarantee delivery unfortunately, since there are many factors needed to get you your order on time, and sometimes those factors are out of our hands with the shop or carrier. You are absolutely right to recommend to give time when ordering though, and we 100% recommend that to all of our customers! In the case of time-sensitive events and holidays, we recommend scheduling an order to arrive 2+ days to up to even a week before you need it, and most items can be stored until you are ready to enjoy! Ordered a saddle turkey breast through Goldbelly for Thanksgiving. Received it in October frozen. I did not defrost until this week for Thanksgiving. It is NOT what I ordered from Chesapeake Bay Gourmet. There is a two week return policy. Why would I defrost something only to have to freeze again to make sure I received correct product. Paid $109 for this turkey saddle that was supposed to be boneless, which it was not. How would you like to find this out the day before Thanksgiving?

I placed an order to have 6 live lobsters shipped overnight from NY to NC from Goldbelly. They arrived on time, which was great, but only 5 of 6 lobsters were actually alive. As I ordered these for a dinner party the day of delivery, this left me to scramble. Shipping live lobsters is pretty well established and easy to do if you start with FRESH, LIVE lobsters --- which apparently Goldbelly does not. AVOID.

I paid for expedite shipping on a scheduled day and it was a frozen product and it came 2 days late and was ruined and they are doing nothing. On top of the fact that it is the 3rd time they said something would arrive a certain time and didnt!

Answer: They aren't necessarily a scam, but very poor customer service policies. If anything goes wrong with your order, like it did with mine, they just blocked me from their Facebook page so I couldn't leave a review. It's just luck if your order arrives and looks as you would expect and if it doesn't you are out of luck. Just contact local bakeries or restaurants and have them deliver for you, no reason to pay Goldbelly and have a third party who cares nothing about your order throw it around in the back of their truck and deliver it trashed. Goldbelly is unscrupulous and a big risk of wasted money.
