This was my first experience with meal kits. I was delighted with the packaging of the ingredients, and the freshness of most, with the exception of a few wilted salad greens, and the Mango which was too green to be usable. Fortunately I had a ripe Mango on hand to 'save the day". Plenty of delicious food for dinner, and it was FUN!
Easy, and convenient every time. I will keep trying for more. But for now I believe to recommend it for anyone looking for the best.
My husband is a picky eater. The dinner was tasty and since I rarely cook any more; my plate looked like I put my heart and soul into it. I hope it continues as good as the first
I have been considering using Hello Fresh. Great concept. I signed up for Hello Fresh with a deal for 4 weeks. Great choice of menu and my husband and I ordered our meals. Today we have been waiting for delivery. Delivery was between 12 am and 7am I contacted customer service and was advised there was a problem at the depot and now delivery can be up to 3pm. It would have been quicker to have gone to the supermarket and still have time to go out. No I have been waiting best part of all Sunday for delivery. I am concerned of the quality was delivery is received. I will add later. I have been refunded cost of box but it is no compensation for the time wasted. It is not good doing promotions and signing up customers if they cannot provide the goods on time.
I had a less than perfect experience, but that being said I think that their customer service is great and they made it right. I love the idea of the subscription service and the recipes cards are great. This really gives you an opportunity to check out things you may not ordinarily eat, but have always wanted to try. A little too much packaging, but find a coupon and give it a try.

I've had a subscription off and on for over a year now. I love that you can "pause" weeks so that you're not being sent food that you won't use. Very easy recipes that our family enjoys. My son also really enjoys picking out meals for the week.
I love this company! The recipes are always tasty and their customer service is super friendly and helpful. If you're looking to try something new this is a hassle free way to expand your culinary horizons. Its been really fun making these easy to follow recipes with friends and family. Also great for date night! Ive tried a few other food delivery sites and Hello Fresh is by far my favorite.
I had a $30.00 coupon so thought I'd try it. What wasn't clear, at least to me, was I was entering into an automatic meal program. They tell you when you next meals are arriving, but don't remind you before it's too late to cancel or even choose what meals you want sent! They are decent alright, but instructions are very tedious. I cancelled as soon as I could, but still got stuck for the second bunch of meals. Also rude customer service reps.
Auto enroll you in expensive plans and make it very hard to cancel. Avoid! You can make these recipes yourself for 1/10 of the price if you get the ingredients at the grocery store. Rude customer service.
No question just a comment. When you call to accept delivery of a prepaid meal. Why is a credit card needed ignorer to receive the meal
We tried this to see if it fit in with our lifestyle, it does not. When I ordered the special deal for 29.00, I had no idea I was subscribing to the service. Today I will receive a new package of food I do not want. If this company wants to succeed they had best change enrollment to something that is easy to read and understand. They offered no recourse and did not offer to lower the price. Good riddance
If you like the taste of bland boring meals with no spice or flavor then you should try out Hello Fresh. Additionally, if you like seeing extra charges on your credit card statement (even though you opted to skip out for three weeks due to being out of town for work), then this is the business for you! Oh might I also add, there was one week where I opted to skip out, was charged the $69.95, and never received any box! Also, cancelled my subscription about THREE times, yet they still kept charging! Only reason why I noticed is because I thankfully have notification alerts from my credit card company whenever a charge has been made. I had to call my credit card company and do a merchant block. Yup, stay the hell away from this business!
Beware of free promotion. My friend sent me a link to get 2 free meals to try out the service. When I signed up, according to the representative I talked to, at the bottom of the enrollment process it signs you up for a subscription. I was unaware because it does not flag you or ask you if you are sure you want to enroll in a weekly delivery. The next week we received a box of 2 meals and a charge on our credit card for $70! I called customer service and they offered to do nothing they said it signed me up for the service when I enrolled for the 2 free meals. I should have noticed it. So now I am stuck paying $70. I have sent a complaint into customer service and all I keep getting are automated emails wanting to know about their service?! No one will email me back or respond. I am starting to believe this company does not have a live person working for them. Horrible company and all they do is want your money. Beware of signing up for their "FREE" offer.
I had just the first box now and I like it, easy to cook, everything delivered to you - so you don't have to go shopping or think what to do for a dinner. I had all good experience, food fresh, everything ok.
However, I tried few recipes myself and it definitely can go cheaper if you buy all yourself. I also don't like the amount of waste, so I will not stay with that for long.
But very good for lazy (really, not much effort to have a really good meal) or very busy people
I suspended my order for several weeks, they unsuspended it and then told me that they dd not have record that it had been suspended. I know I suspended these week because I was going out of town. This is a rip off go with Blue Apron
We started with one of the 29.95 offer. We decided we did not want to receive any further deliveries. Once we our box we did enjoy the meals. So, on November 5 we decided to reactivate our orders. That same afternoon I received a phone call from Hello Fresh offering us a $10 discount to activate our account. I explained to the rep that I had just reactivated my account.
The rep continued on about giving us the discount. Of course I accepted. We discussed the delivery for the week of November 20 delivery. I told him we did not want the delivery. He asked if we wanted to donate the delivery. I said yes.
Now onto week of November 13 we have received two boxes. I called Hello Fresh to find out why we received two boxes this week. We have six meals setting in our refrigerator. The rep said we re-activated two accounts. I tried too explain to hear what happened. But, she would not listen. She kept saying I understand but you activated to accounts. She did agree that one of the accounts shows next as donated. Again, I said I did not activate two accounts. She did not and would not listen.
I asked to speak with a manager. The Team Lead got on the phone and again I explained the situation. She did not hesitate and came back with "You activated two accounts." I tried to ask question about the person that called me. She said a Hello Fresh Team member as no access to my account information. She than kept saying "is there anything else I can help you with."
I asked for a manager. She said there is not a manager available. I kept pushing the subject. She then came back with "I do not have the capabilities to transfer you too someone else. " I was very upset now. The team lead fed me a line. I am being bulldozed and I do not like it.
I should not have too pay for Hello Fresh's mistake.
I gave this as a one time gift. They continue to send meals and charge my account even though I have spoken to them. BEWARE. Their customer service is not helpful and have the attitude "Gee We are sorry we screwed you" but too bad.
I tried the service with a PROMO code sent to me by email. 19.95--- OK got the meals -- Every item was very fresh and expertly packed... but recipes arewaaay too complicated- to put the meal together - Following their recipe took three times as long as my own cooking. I was exhausted and the meal was just ok- NO vegetables- just cherry tomatoes and cilantro-- I eat half veggies and half meat etc... ANYWAY-- Just was checking my bank account and WHAM! The tagged my account for 59,99 WITHOUT my authorization- I will call my bank and have their auto withdrawals stopped but they better REFUND this amount- Their reputation should depend on their HONESTY - We'll see - I am LIVID!
Our box label stated delivery by Friday at 9pm. It arrived Sunday morning. It says on the label leave at back door. It was left on the front step near a busy street with food liquids leaking all out of the box. When I called customer service offering to send pictures, they were rude and did not even apologize. I canceled the account requested a refund and am praying they return my money for the week.
Answer: I signed up and realised its a scam - your first order is only able to be placed 2 weeks away, meaning they get your money even if you use a coupon... and from other reviews they won't let you cancel. I just registered a voucher, saw the dates and tried to cancel... and can't - there is no "cancel" on their website
Answer: You will still have to pay for delivery and such because this company says those things cannot be covered by a gift card. Beware signing up, because they will subscribe you as soon as you enter credit card information. It is in their Terms and Conditions at the beginning of the process.
Answer: You're automatically on auto ship…any week you don't overtly cancel will get sent out and you'll get charged.
Answer: Nor really. They will want to give you a partial refund of the single ingredient you found to be of poor quality... and that's if you want to take the time to navigate the website to find out how to do it. Their website is totally designed to make customer service difficult.
Delicious, pre-measured ingredients and simple, chef-made recipes that we deliver to your doorstep every week. Extra flexible for your busy lifestyle.
