I am absolutely disgusted with HelloFresh. I opted to skip my delivery for 9/23. I made this selection on Saturday 9/16 through the HelloFresh app linked to my account. The deadline to make changes was 9/18. I made my changes ahead of the cutoff. Today, I noticed a full $59.95 charge on my account for HelloFresh for a delivery for 9/23! I called customer service to let them know there was an error. I skipped 9/23 and made meal selections for 9/30 and 10/7 while on the HelloFresh app on 9/16. I was informed by Jose, that there is nothing they can do. I will be receiving a delivery of items that I do not want and will have to pay for said items. I asked to speak with a manager to see if there was another resolution. I was placed on hold for 15+ minutes and then hung up on. I have cancelled my subscription. I was pleased with the packaging and product and looking forward to my 9/30 and 10/7 deliveries. HelloFresh customer service is anything but a service. Buyers beware!

Fun innovative recipes.

It's a fun way to prepare a meal. Sometimes it gets boring planning meals but they send innovative recipes that are a bit different from everyday. It's good even for 1 person. Try it.

Hello Fresh basically ripped us off by sending us two boxes of the same thing. They were not willing to make good in any way. All they told us was that it is in the "terms and conditions." We tried to use a gift card and apply to our next shipment but they shipped the gift card box and the regular box. So now we are out an additional $69, and receiving two identical boxes. NICE! This company is terrible. Their customer service is awful. #hellofreshsucks

Within two weeks of starting Hello Fresh, a box showed up with the ice bags melted and the meat lukewarm. In the last two months they showed up, including today, with a meat packages leaking into the rest of the box. If they'll ship meals with bags of leaky chicken and melted ice, what the heck might be going on in their processing plant?

Canceled this afternoon and contacted the Maryland department of agriculture, their food safety director. Don't know what may come of it, but if you're reading: find another service!

1. Packaging is super wasteful and company uses freeze bags that are basically impossible to reuse or responsibly dispose of.
2. I cancelled subscription according to instructions (5 days before next delivery) and they still delivered and charged me for another week! Customer service reps were super unhelpful and unsympathetic, saying that when I cancelled I would have had to select some additional option to not have another meal delivered (why would I be canceling my subscription otherwise?). Honestly, this was a scam. Would definitely recommend avoiding Hellofresh.

Very satisfied

I don't know why there are so many negative reviews. I've had about 2 months of meals so far and also tried Blue Apron. A few times I had avocados that were not ripe and I got instant credit Of corse the objective is not to have to call about product but considering hoe fragile and delicate produce is I think they do a great job. I mostly get the veggie meals - all have been interesting and delicious When I get the classic plan I've had excellent steak, chicken shrimp. So I don't understand the complaints

Since I started the subscription, I have had problems. The first delivery was missing important ingredients. The second delivery the meals were not what I ordered on the HF app and the meat packaging was leaking though the bottom of the box. The third delivery contained spoiled salad greens that could not be used. This time I was not able to login into the app or the website, after multiple attempts to reset the password. They sent meals that I can not eat and I was told they don't accept returns! I was going to refuse delivery but the box was left on my porch without anyone ringing the doorbell. Customer service only responds by apologizing and offering a credit but not this time. I have cancelled the subscription, and will pursue a refund for the last delivery through PayPal. Stay far, far away from Hello Fresh. The menus and preparation instructions are well done, the actual service is TERRIBLE!

Overpriced and wasteful. The amount of packaging will create a landfill the size of Texas. If your looking for heartburn and gaining a few pounds be my guest and try it out. My kids can cook a quicker taster meal with their eyes closed and spend the same amount for 10 meals verses 2. It does not save time, is not a good price and is't a healthy option for my family. It may be trendy, but as we know those don't last. Off to the farmers market for some real food and keeping it sustainable, peace out!

Corrupt policies

Received rotten produce. Spoke to customer service and was offered a credit for the inconvenience. The catch? They want me to spend another $40 to be able to even use the $20 credit. There is no purchase available under $60 and they will not offer me a refund to my card for the $20. Essentially they refuse to provide an actual refund for rotten produce. Terrible policy to choose to lose a customer on subscription for such a small price to make reparations.

I got a good rate for two weeks with HelloFresh first week was great. The second week I ordered a steak, instead I got fish tacos (oh and without the fish), I called customer service trying to get my steak entree! They said they couldn't send out one meal, fine whatever but I wanted my $20 back for their mistaken meal. Instead they said they could only credit my account for $30. OK great... except I would still have to pay $30 more dollars to get this credit. I was told many times "this is our courtesy to you"... yes thank you for this $30 courtesy (because I cant just get one meal delivered at a time). Which I will have to pay your company $30 for! Ripoff. Dumb. Your mistake not mine why am I paying for your messup?

The quality of support I received was subpar. This entire company is a scheme and simply in it for money. The person I emailed was kind, however my problem was not solved to my satisfaction. I have filed fraudulent charges with my credit card company as HelloFresh has now made two unauthorized purchases on my account after I cancelled twice. Apparently unless you plan to receive HelloFresh for eternity you should never sign up for this service as it is completely impossible to actually cancel. I went through the cancellation policy twice, finally received a confirmation email but was somehow still subscribed to their service. The manager I spoke with when I called to follow up on this situation was very rude, would not allow my husband to say a word. I am extremely disappointed and very unsatisfied with this service. If I wanted to donate $60 to a company I would have picked a charity not a sham of a company that is HelloFresh.

I got my first box today around 6:45pm. I had been tracking my box all day because the tracking log was showing that the box was out for delivery since 4:45 am.

By the time I got my box, the food was at room temperature; the ice packs had melted inside the box and water was leaking to the point the outside of the actual box was already wet and falling apart.

One of the dishes in my box was Cob and there is NO way I would eat fish that has been exposed to room temperature all day. So, I called customer service to ask for a refund for the food I had already put in the trash as I don't wish to get food poisoned.

If took a while "to convince" these people that a refund was the best way to go here as I don't wish a free room temperature box of food delivered to my door next week. They "made an exception" and I am supposed to receive a refund in 3-5 business days... So all things being equal, there is always the option to disputed the present and any potential future charges with my credit card... So, let's hope that we don't get to that!

Customer service was good and helpful, yet the quality of product and delivery was poor.; vegetabkes didn't look fresh, but mostly groused; meats were room temperature and overall packing was poor. This is not a service that I would recommend to anybody I know. I was expecting better... What a disappointment!

Horrible!

Got two boxes, some produce was frozen and I was unable to use them or cut away most of it.
Second week of two boxes and it was horrible! The peppers that they sent me where either mushy (as in liquid running in the bag) or wrinkling, which means to me that I had to cook them that day. Green onions on all the tops where black and molding. Garlic got frozen and became mushy after it thawed out. The key components to each dish I had to throw away. The only thing worth keeping was the seasonings. Even the meat was swimming in liquid in their vacuum sealed bags.
So I called to get my money back on at least the last two I got. I was refused a refund, all I would be able to get was $20 refund on my card and a $20 credit to an account I was never going to use again! They even said that I could send pictures to "verify" and show their shipping department, but when I asked if I go through all this and it is what I am saying it is, I will get my refund? She basically told me no. So I hung up on her.
It's a scam. Don't waste your money or frustration

It was very good

I enjoyed this very much, but I had to clean up after myself, which was my laziness popping up. I was able to experience new and different foods which I had never tried before and found them very enjoyable. I do recommend this to anyone that doesn't know how to cook or can cook. The directions were very easy to follow but it was lacking in the nutritional value printout.

My husband and I have been married 36 years - always enjoyed cooking, but recently... I got tired of the 'same old' recipes I had cooked for years. Even after pulling recipes off the Internet - some were good and others not. The same CANNOT be said about HelloFresh. The deliveries arrive when expected in good condition. We absolutely love the fresh ingredients, easy follow instructions and vast variety of meals. I have fixed food I had never even tried before - much less fixed. HelloFresh has given me back my enjoyment of cooking again - and the meals are beautiful! I have recommended to friends and family, as well. I will continue ordering for years to come.

First, the food for our experience of two boxes/3 meals each:

75% produce was old, wilted, soft and mushy.
The meat was filled with water.

Customer Service called me after I cancelled. Offered us $20 discount to 'try again.' I went back into my account a week later, and saw the discount was not applied. I phoned to cancel again, and later saw they cancelled yet were still sending me 'one last box' and again, at the full cost.

I phoned again, and insisted 1. cancel all shipments 2. take my number off phone list.

I would think twice about dealing with this subpar company and their 'food stuff.'

I'd recommend avoiding this company. After my trial box, they charged me for a box I'd asked to skip. I was skipping it because the first box of meals was lackluster and this box didn't look good. Rather than acknowledge their error, Yen in Customer Service has chosen to pretend it didn't happen so I have to dispute the charge with Visa. I've never had this trouble with a subscription company and would warn users to beware.

Also, for vegetarians: expect carb heavy meals. Worst of the 4 food subscriptions I've tried- the others were great!

False advertising

Hello fresh claim their family meal box feeds a family of 4-5. The meal portions seemed reasonable in the first couple of boxes but then gradually decreased. When I called them to ask about meal portions I was told I should be receiving 150g serve of meat per person and if I received less this must be an error. In the next box I received 2 meals with less than 500g meat total (to feed 5 people). When I called again and asked for a refund was told meals are for 2 adults and 2 small children only, thus this amount was sufficient. An example of a meal would be 480g mince, two potatos and 2 zucchini, sprig of herb. No way enough for a family of 5 and a complete rip-off. I paid $38 for a meal with ingredient worth $15 max.

The food is crap, ingridients look bad and even smell bad. I threw everything away to the garbage bin and even my dog refused to eat it. And as it happened to many other customers, they continued to charge my card and send boxes I blocked my card and informed them that I am not going to pay any cent to them. They start to threaten me that they will contact collector agency what made me laugh. Now, I am going to contact Paypal and ask for refund from them.
