I had received an ID.ME account and login a number of years ago. But other than the initial login, I could not make it work for me. It said I had the wrong password, (even though it was the same one that allowed me in the first time I used it). I changed my password, still did not work. Finally I ended up registering again. As if I never had, everything went through fine at this point and I did manage to do what I needed to do, but I will believe it works after I have finished doing everything I need to do at a couple of other government type websites. Keeping my fingers crossed it all works because I do need to take care of this stuff.
AND NOW, we have the fun if trying to get into the IRS and Social Security website and even though we just managed to get him registered about a year ago, for some reason his login has been locked, also.

I spent over a week and over 30 trying to get into my SSA account through Login.gov. I got numerous fails, error messages, photos not good enough, etc. etc. The SSA agent told me to try ID.me instead, and I was able to sign up and get verified within 30 minutes. Although my camera is older/cheap, I was able to take photos that were approved, and then finished up with a video call with their agent.
From the beginning, it was very easy to access the system. Everything was set up in the order that made it simple and easy for anyone to use taking the pictures of my ID was simple overall, everything was great.
It was a little frustrating, but I got through it. I think it was a little overkill, but that's just me. I guess I was just upset because I couldn't get my funds until I completed this.
