Customer service claimed delays,but still charged me for shipments not arriving. Claimed they gave me credits, but when I logged in, no credits, my subscription cancelled but I was still charged for 2 shipments that never arrived. Complete sham

The crate you sign up for might not be what you get. They also refuse to do refunds even if your order won't be shipped for over a month. A fun idea, but they rarely deliver on their promises
Japan Crate has definitely won my kids heart. It was fun and nicely done and snacks are delicious. My kids love the monthly surprises that come in these Japan Crate boxes. They're more interested with the DIY part where they will look for it once I open the crate. There hasn't been a treat that went to waste. It was really a fun thing to do together with your kids.
Billing was a little confusing at first due to some changes they were making in the new website but it seems to be getting better as the month go by. I subscribed from December and we've been receiving monthly boxes since January. I have a 12 months subscription and it took months to deliver to our door here in Netherlands. But hey, its all worth the wait. Kids are happy every time it arrives. So it all ok to wait.
I didn't receive my April crate and all I thought that the crate is lost but when you reached out to there customer support, they will update you and give you more information about the crate. If it was really lost, then they will send a replacement crate like the April crate as I may say but it got lost due to courier. They send a replacement and still waiting up until now but then my July crate already arrived and waiting for 2 crates which is April and August crate.
Email notifications are a top notch, so you'll getting updates from time to time. Overall experience we're so far great. Customer support is always on the go for the support you needed. More crates to go and keep it coming.
I subscribed to Japan Crate snacks box before and tried all there crates from snacks to noodles crate. I like all the concept of there crates but what I really like most was the Doki Doki crate. The Doki Doki crate is great with selections of Kawai items made from Japan. I love the collaboration of there items that they include in each box every month. Definitely loving the different Cardcaptor Sakura items that have been featured lately. Every item match up with the theme. Its one of the best Japan item subscription online. Very kawaii. Smart choice. Worth to subscribe if your are really a fan.
With my first ever Japan Crate Premium crate subscription. I absolutely love the items I received. I loved that there was a variety of chips specially the Aerial rich cheese and candies (my favorit was the orange gum and the kitkat cookie flavor, others are just common candies). The items of the crate were perfect combo with all the sweets, salty, cheezy, and something new and exciting and to wash it all down the unique taste of the carbonated fruity and refreshing taste of the Power Water which included in the crate. Will definitely renew my subscription and I'm already excited. Will enter the Lucky Bag promo as well so I will get extra items. Check out my attached photos. So Loving it...
I just love all cutest snacks: heart: that came from my crate! The only company that truly makes the cutest crates. Its a good way to get a taste of Japan. I've never bought from them before but the way their crate entries are formatted makes it very organized, quick, and easy :) Thank you very much.
I absolutely love my Inku crates, they are a real highlight every month. The stationery in the crate varies nicely every month, meaning you don't accumulate just different versions of the same stuff over and over. And Japanese stationery is just so much better than just the regular stuff I can get! The shipping is on the more expensive side, but as Japan is halfway around the world from here I don't really mind the charge that much. Plus the shipping is tracked so I can follow it's progress which is a big bonus.
The things that are sent in the boxes are not worth the time or the amount of money. We live within 20 min. Of several stores I could buy it all from. I was trying to log in and cancel my next subscription and it would not let me, when I reached out to customer service it took them a day to respond and by then I was charged for the subscription. They told me I can no longer get a refund. I can't believe a small delay would be so damming. I'm now out $270, and have way too many cheap snacks piling up in my pantry.
I received a gift crate from one of my friends and once again I was amazed and 100% satisfied with the variety of snacks. I love Japanese culture and snacks and as someone who has limited ways of experiencing that in my home country, Japan Crate is a blessing. All the snacks are new, unique, and delicious. I'll need to save up so that I can afford my own crate though :))
Don't even bother to buy from this company. They are scammers. Was trying to log into my account to unsubscribe before it auto renewed. Which didn't happen. And got charged. They told me no on a refund. Their customer support is crap, rude and unresponsive. I had to spam over like 500-600 emails. Along with spaming their Facebook page and their japan crate website. (Till I got a refund. Don't let them cheat you outta your money.) Be warn and unsubscribe before they trap you and play their little games. Its sad that their social media team was more helpful than the *******@japancrate.com. They also said I needed to email them to cancel the renewal. (They also was like this one time only. Like ha you lost a customer since the customer service was crap.) So what i can't just log in and cancel it. Thats how they cheat you outta your money.
BTW if this ever happens to anyone else either dispute it with your card. You can even go to the japan crate

Japan crate is awesome! Every month is like a new experience. Each month, you get to try different snacks ranging from chips to candy to different drinks as well! The cool part to me is that these crates come with rare flavors not seen anywhere else! I definitely would recommend Japan crate to anyone who is a fan of Japanese snacks or just wanting to try different things! Overall experience was awesome.
Please read the many bad reviews of this company on multiple sites before buying a subscription. After six weeks and many emails they continue to provide misleading information about why no package has been delivered. Four weeks after the parcels were supposedly sent, I contacted DHL, they confirmed in writing a shipping label was created, but the items were never received by DHL. When I contacted Japan Crate many times with evidence from DHL, they kept saying the parcels shipped and were in transit. Then Japan Crate tried to say customs clearance and international transit times were the cause of the delay, which is blatantly untrue because DHL never received the parcels.
UPDATE NUMBER ONE:
Japan crate requested more information from me after I posted a negative review after six weeks of constantly emailing them requesting information. They didn't bother to look into the issue or answer any of my questions, despite written evidence from DHL showing the items were never sent. If they were serious about 'caring about customers' and had any intention of doing something about their appalling customer service, they would have followed up before I left a negative review. Disappointing customer service and after 7 weeks still no product.
UPDATE NUMBER TWO:
First month subscription boxes arrived eight weeks late. The contents of both boxes was good and represented ok value for money, but customer service was extremely poor, equal to, if not the worst I've ever experienced.
UPDATE NUMBER THREE:
This month no crates arrived (again), despite my Japan Crate account saying the orders have been fulfilled. I contacted Japan Crate, they sent me two bogus tracking numbers again. The tracking numbers tell me the parcels were successfully delivered to an address in the USA but I'm in Australia.
BEWARE OF JAPAN CRATE'S SCAM AUTOMATIC SUBSCRIPTION RENEWAL, THEY WILL NOT CANCEL A SUBSCRIPTION AND WILL AUTOMATICALLY RENEW FOR ANOTHER 6 MONTHS SO YOU END UP PAYING FOR ANOTHER 6 MONTHS OF PRODUCTS YOU NEVER RECEIVE.
Try Tokyo Treat (or Bokksu). Tokyo Treat are excellent and send you an email with tracking information and follow up after delivery. Both of these companies represent far better value and they are reliable.

They don't reply, customer service is nonexistent, it is not worth the money, the box took over 3 months to arrive, they are liars and scammers.

Japancrate has some awesome stuff and I look forward to getting my crate so that I can try them out! So, when the time comes and received my crate and checked it. The candy was legit and did not disappoint me at all. Also the box came in handy for storage of my own things. I really love Japanese culture and I'm so excited for my next crate. I love Japan and everything related!
I got my Umai box yesterday and absolutely amazing! The box is so cute with its yellow packaging, its stand out from the rest. When the courrier is carrying from afar, you'll know that its from Japan crate due to its signature yellow box. So I opened the box and with its cute pamphlet inside that was made so nicely with cooking instructions and details of each noodles. This will be my greatest buy online so far. The noodles looks good, I cooked one which is the Rich Chinese Miso Noodles and it hits me instantly. The taste is different from instant noodles from the grocery nearby my place. And different from noodles where I regularly bought from the supermarket. It's fun trying new things! And want to mention, Japan crate have a great customer support too. They're so polite and helpful. No doubt with them. Thankful that I found them.
Crates are really good! Never ordered from them before or subscribed before and regretted it on why not to. Their website was way everything is formatted is informative and knowledgeable. I subscribed for three months so I got my 2 crates now. All of them came without problems and I got to enjoy the snacks with my family. The variety is good! Definitely something to try if anyone is interested!
First of all, I'd like to sent my appreciation and love from all the hard work you all do in Japan Crate team. I received my March crate after a long wait and I will honestly say that despite the long wait of shipping, you guys still manage to sort things out. I actually lost hope of getting my crate. But to compensate things out, my 3 Mini crates that weren't delivered were replaced with 2 Premium boxes. I wasn't expecting to be replaced with a big box. I'm surprised and so happy about it. Your customer services is so amazing even I'm rude to reply to them but they're so polite and apologetic from what's happening with the shipping. With regards to the crate, the packaging is amazing! Levels above any snack subscription box that we have tried before. We are completely impressed with all the detail put into the box. We LOVED the box! The variety of snacks was fantastic and we love the addition of the drink! Will subscribe again when shipping to Australia is back to normal. Keep up the good work Japan Crate team.
I just received my last month of Japan Premium crate after a long wait. It took more than a month of shipping. I have been in contact with Japan Crate customer support. Send them a lot of emails regarding the shipping issue. It took a while when I got a reply on my first email but they are nice and they're tried to fix everything. So my last ever crate was lost in shipping but then they immediately send a replacement crate which it arrived after 3 weeks of nagging them down. Customer support is nice and resolve the issue, so there goes my 5 star. For the crate itself, packaging is excellent, out of lots of monthly crates received, never had any order arrived damaged in any way. Happy with overall quality (you get what you pay for). Still worth the wait.
After January month's box I got hooked! Ought another premium box last month and it arrived today all snacks are really tasty and they change each month so you can never get bored it's definitely a cool way to try my new snacks and I definitely recommend it. Well deserved a 5 star.
