WHAT has happened to J. Crew? Decades ago, their clothing and customer service were top-notch. No more! I qualify for a student discount, so I placed a bunch (way too many!) of orders in the last month or so. The clothes are very poorly made, and all the tops are way too short and all the pants are ridiculously, gigantically, absurdly long. Like, ten inches too long. And I'm not that short! Every order was returned via USPS because the closest brick-and-mortar J. Crew is about 80 miles from me. That means every order cost me $8 to return. So I spent about $100 just to return all these awful clothes. And eight bucks doesn't buy you speedy shipping, either. It takes two to three weeks for the package just to reach them. Then it's another two to three weeks for them to open it and process the return. And none of this happens if the package is lost, which happens frequently. Just the most awful service. Even with my student discount, prices were CRAZY, but I remembered many years ago when I really liked their stuff. Not any more! I've sworn them off for good. BLECH.
We have store open at Sioux Falls, South Dakota and their customer service horrible. When you shop in there they happy but when you come to return, they absolutely different attitude. I came to return earrings but a full price with holidays discount. It's not final sale as the associate told me she cannot accept my return. I did not even try them, I did not even wear them. I just don't like because they to big. Please do not shop in there because I never have store who will not take the return of earrings.
I place 3 times the same order. First time I placed it online and got a confirmation and 24 hours later I got a cancellation email. The remaining two times I placed the order over the phone and was assured it will not get cancelled but it did until I called again. Guess what it again got cancelled. How can you run an online store this way?
I finally walked into their outlet mall and ordered another product but since my size was not in store they shipped it. This time I got the order with security censor so again I had to go back to the store to get it removed. Horrible experience both in store and online.
I ordered a cashmere sweater for my brother in late November. Because of medical issues,, he didn't open his holiday package until January. It came in the wrong color and style. He tried to return it or exchange it but the hers said it was too late. He sent it back to me and I also tried to return or exchange it. Again they said it was too late. Is this company failing? Who runs this awful company? It used to be a decent store but now I wouldn't waste my time on these creeps. They sure don't know anything about customer satisfaction!
Love J. Crew styles, but quality has declined over the years. On top of that, the facts that they charge for returns, almost all sale items are final sale, and sizing is inconsistent are causing me to stop shopping here. If their were more stores where I could try items on and return things, I would much more inclined to purchase from J. Crew.
I just purchased over $350 worth of merchandise on JCrew.com. I needed to return 1 item, a belt and they charged me $7 to return the item. I purchased from many stores over the holiday and even the less expensive stores returned items for free. They just lost a customer.
I placed an order 10 days ago. Today, 5 days before Christmas, they cancelled my order leaving me with no present fro my daughter. No wonder they had to file for bankruptcy
Almost month after i returned the item I still didn't receive the refund. Holding money for no reason.
I placed a large order. The order was confirmed. When I checked the website to see when the order would arrive, it said order "canceled". They did not notify me. When I got a customer service agent on the phone, he read me a prepared statement saying there were "discount discrepancies" and they would not honor them or send my order. No other explanation. All the items I tried to order are still available at a much higher price.
JCrew used to sell good quality clothing but it changed a couple of years ago. Cashmere sweaters used to cost $180 but its all worth it, they have the best colors compared to other brands and it last for a long time. But after that couple of years, yes the price is lower but the quality is poor. 2 cashmerE sweaters from them after hand washing shrunk. The "merino" they sell is so thin not worth the price.
I bought 2 duplicate jeans that were the same size and style I already had.
They were so big I could not keep them up without tightening my belt where the material folded over.
They were a straight leg w34/32 and fit like they were at least a w36.
What's happening in Bangladeshi?
Very disappointed in a blue Jean company that I thought was better.
I purchased a jumpsuit that was nice, but too long. It's very well made, by Reistor. When I placed the order it said it was not returnable IN THE STORE. I figured, ok, I'll have to ship it back if it doesn't fit. NBD. NOPE. When I initiated the return they claimed it was a clearance item. NO it was not. The item doesn't say clear (even today), the order doesn't didn't say clearance or non-returnable. I pd $134. When I tried to get customer support, their Live Chat, kept going offline and I couldn't complete a chat. I called after multiple tries. Then they said that it is was ordered at "Marketplace" item. No, it was ordered on the JCrew website, but then THEY apparently placed a Marketplace order. I have to email the original company Reister, in order to see if I can return it. Marketing was deceptive and customer service was terrible. The price wasn't less that on the Reistor site. That "need help making a return?" at the bottom of the packing slip was a joke. What do I need JCrew form with their crappy and dishonest methods and days of delays? Just go direct. Forget JCrew. Too bad, it's a very well constructed jumper.
I ordered a t shirt and a pants and got a dress instead and customer service keep telling that the item was already delivered…
Bad service to order online and low quality clothing.
This was my first online order.

I've been shopping at Jcrew since I was in college, so more than a few years. I even worked for the company for the better part of three years. I recently emailed Jcrew about not getting my birthday reward this year and the csr who emailed me back was extremely rude and didn't even use my name. Just a generic response. And she told me that "sadly" I didn't qualify for the reward. Um yes I do, got it last year in fact, but it's only 20 bucks so no biggie. Worst csr experience I've ever had with Jcrew. Maybe it was a bot? If not then the company needs to start training their employees better because otherwise, they'll keep losing loyal customers like myself. I'll be shopping at Nordstrom and Bean from now on.
JCrew misleads customers with a "30 day return policy." When you order online, it's really more like a week (JCrew subtracts the time it takes them and their shippers to send the package, send the return, and then process the return) Direct quote from customer service: "it takes up to two weeks for the return to be completed and the policy indicates that returns need to be processed and received within the 30 day window"... shady practice, I would avoid doing business with this company.
Went to pick up a package at Rockefeller Center location. Kept waiting, they couldn't find it. They offered a gift card for the inconvenience. Kept waiting, they couldn't do it. Complete waste of time, and they couldn't care less. Shop somewhere else...
I was on the phone for one hour to return something and they never could manage to help me do it.
The quality is poor and now they buy from third party manufacturers and will not let you return them to j crew site when you have NO idea that they are not a part of J crew
They will soon go chapter 11
I've purchased at least four pairs of pants that have been up to 9 inches larger than the size chart indicated. After talking with the JCrew representative, I was told that the size chart is generalized and not specific to any particular piece of clothing. They're good about letting you return and replace even with items that are final sale, but it is particularly difficult to figure out what size to order because they do not have specific size information for each item offered, I think they need to be honest that the size chart is just a general guess and not specific to any particular garment.
Their quality has way downhill and sizes got weird. Plus they closed most stores so if u order online and need to return they charge 7.50. Unacceptable!
Around 4:15 today at the JCrew at 6910 Fayetteville Rd, space 155 Durham, NC, my family and I walked into JCrew, and a Caucasian employee in the store greeted us. I kindly went up to them ( J.Crew employee) and asked if I could use a restroom, and he/she replied that they didn't have one and informed me I had to go to Moe's next door. For the record, I'm a brown complexion man I went to Moe's and came back. A few minutes later, a Caucasian woman asked a JCrew employee if she could use the restroom, and he walked the lady back to the bathroom.
I will no longer be doing any business with JCrew
JCrew = racial discrimination
