Unable to place online orders using Macy's American Express credit card. Each time I try to place an online order I have to call consumer protection department to go through the entire verification process.

I bought at pocket book for my wife there and the sign said 30 percent off sale. Upon going to cashier she said the sale is only good for Macy cardholders or zI can apply for one to get the discount. This is prejudice toward all non card holders! I will never shop there again and I urge all to boycott them for their prejudice policies.
I ordered earings on 11/25. When my package arrived I was missing one of the three pairs of earings I ordered. I reached out to Macys and the first rep I spoke to said they would be resending the earings and I should have them in a few days. Then a few days later, I got an email from Macy's saying that they decided to no longer reship the earings and they would not be issusing a refund. I then called Macys back, and spoke with a rep who shared that Macy's made a decision and they wont be doing anything about this. The rep, told me that there was nothing they could do, since they closed my claim. The represenative told me to file a claim with my bank. I am abolutely shocked by the terrible customer service!
I ordered a University of Tennessee hoodie for my daughter, for a Christmas present, on 11/23/23. The package arrived on 11/30/23, but was an entirely different item. Contacted Customer Service on 11/30/23 and was told they would send the correct item and asked that I return the incorrect item. The replacement item was under the same order number and tracking number (USPS). The confirmation email I received stated the item would be delivered on 12/5/23…but it never arrived. Contacted Customer Service again on 12/6/23 and the person couldn't find where the replacement item had been sent or even processed. After about 20 minutes on hold with the representative, he finally said he "found" the replacement order and it would be delivered on 12/6/23 by UPS. It, of course, never arrived. He couldn't find a tracking number for it or any other information. I definitely will NEVER order anything from Macy's again, nor will I ever shop in one of their stores.
They make it as difficult as possible to contact them at all then they're reps are rude or not even able to answer simple questions or both. They missed an item from my order and said they were reshipping - I specifically asked the rep but never did. They canceled another order more than a week later saying the item is out of stock even tho it's still for sale on their website at a higher price than I paid and "as a courtesy" sent a coupon that had a paragraph of exclusions so looks like it can't be used on most of the store
Macy's does not care about the customer at all. A package is lost and they will not help. Keep telling me to comeback 24 hours and it will be delivered. You can tell that the package is lost but keep giving me the same answer. I have had problems with other companies and they solve the issue right then and there. Those companies go above and beyond to help their customers. Macy's does not care about their customers.
Macys should close their business if they dont know how to manage customer. My items were cancelled at last moment and few of them are not even delivered after 12 days. Customer service is pathetic.
I have been a Macy's customer for many years, spending hundreds of dollars annually. For the upcoming year, my plan is to spend as little as possible and ONLY after checking other stores...
Reasons:
A) two items that I ordered recently (a national women's clothing brand): one delivered but wrong item, the other lost in space. I ended up finding the item at Kohl's online for less than Macy's price--which had been marked down twice!
B) star rewards: a scam. Yes, they do award the $10 bonus when you hit 1k points on shopping but they are extremely arbitrary in how they award them. After my two recent returns (total of less than $50), my rewards pts went from nearly 1,000 to about 300. Why? Well, total of two hours on two separate occasions with their online chat was useless... contradictions and false information.
C) sale passes: I have been getting those for years and could count on one hand the number of times they actually worked. The fine print/exclusions are so extensive they look like a page from the phonebook.
D) I pay off my bill each month, both store and Amex, which I rarely use. I just happened to notice recently that the interest rate on carryovers was over 30%! Are you kidding me? How is that even legal?
E) most of all, as my recent experience with online Kohls' showed (as well as buying items like Patricia Nash scarf online@ HSN), Macy's is virtually never the best price.
Also, I have emailed numerous times and have NEVER got a reply.
If I were ever in a Macy's store and saw something that was a great sale, I might buy it.
But for the most part, I am pretty much done with Macy;s.
If you want an item on stock to be delivered in a timely manner, DO
NOT ORDER online from Macy's! Placed an order a week ago. The item was in stock. It's been a week and it is still in the processing stage. I contacted Macy,s. After being on hold for 20 minutes all they said is that I would need to wait for at least another 10-12 days! If you need an item from Macy's, go directly to the store or better yet, order or buy it from another merchant.

I purchased an item in-store along with several other stuff, on thanksgiving weekend (Sunday). The lady at the counter charged us for all the items but did not put one of them in our bag. It skipped our attention. She also said that we would get the receipt in the email. Upon reaching home, we realized that we did not get one item, despite paying for it. I also checked my email inbox but there is no receipt in the email. Thankfully, my online account has a charge and a scannable barcode associated with this purchase. We thought that this will allow us to get the refund or the purchased item. But now, the online chat help says that she needs the physical receipt. This all seem to be a long loop to keep the customer stuck. I am pretty disappointed. I don't know if I'll shop again in near future at Macy's.
We went to Macy's in The Domain, Austin, to buy a new pair of shoes for my wife. They didn't have her size in stock so they ordered it online for us. We received the shoes today and were shocked to find out that they sent us a pair of second-hand, worn shoes. The shoes were dirty and smelly and full of short hair. It is blatantly clear that it is a used item. I immediately called Macy's and were advised to return them to a Macy's store. We are two hours away from the nearest Macy's so this is a huge inconvenience for us. We expected a brand new pair of shoes, yet we received a disgusting, dirty, second-hand pair. Ordered something on web for cyber, put in promo code. Paid by paypal and it took off the cyber code. Called and spoke to someone who verfied I put in the cyber code, but they cannot fix and will call me back to do the promo in a week. Fat chance of that happening. Could not get an email or anything stating this was going to happen. Macy's should be ashamed of them selves for doing such a dirty trick. *I will be looking elsewhere to do my shopping in the future. Macy's is truely not an upstadnign company anymore in my eyes.
So 4mos. Ago I had them send me a new card, after receiving my card I get my bill, now being a member for years you would think they would know my one card has 2 accounts attached to it. Well it only has my American Express Acct. But not my in store account, so Macy's has been sending me a bill for an invalid account when I try to pay it, there's no account for which their sending me a bill, now this has been going on for months, and My problem is I can't understand a word any Macy's Customer Service has anymore, and they can't understand me to fix my issue there fore I'll be closing this Account.
