I ordered a refurbished Haworth Zody chair from Madison Seating, which would have been more than $1K new, but they were selling it for under $300.
It's a great chair, and when I had issues with it, they were fast, courteous, and able to solve my problem quickly.
I will say that when they say 10-14 days shipping, it really does take that long. My product went from ShipReady to being delivered in 1 day.
I recently ordered an open box Humanscale Freedom task chair from Madison Seating's Ebay store. The seller shipped the order within a week, but FedEx delayed the arrival, and they unfortunately damaged the chair significantly during shipping. The chair itself is in apparent new/like new condition, with no damage that does not align with the exterior damage to the box.
When I contacted them, Madison Seating responded promptly--within the same business day--to my email regarding this issue. Rather than shipping the damaged chair back, they offered an arrangement to send a new chair at their cost. Provided the new chair arrives safely, I am pleased with my interaction with Madison Seating and would purchase from them again.
Do not even try with this company. Inflexible, unhelpful, and rude customer service. I will never purchase from them again.
If I could give this company zero stars I would. Do not buy from this company. It is a scam at best. It clearly states on their website that they will not charge your card until they provide you with shipping information. I ordered a chair 10/29/21 and my card was charged on 11/2/21 and I was not provided with any shipping information. I contacted the company via email and had a back and forth conversation with Sana and the answer to when I would receive shipping information was changed twice in this conversation. So I decided to do the smart thing and cancelled my order. My boyfriend also cancelled his order at the same time on 11/11/21 and he received a refund notification whereas I did not. I called my credit card company and let them know what was going on and my credit card company suggested I do a charge back. TWO WEEKS LATER I receive an email (on Thanksgiving no less) with a quite threatening email demanding I return the money that was refunded to me and that I had now received two refunds. My bank account did not reflect this until TWO DAYS LATER, so, since I used to download credit card reports and call credit card companies when people used to try and scam my company out of services, I suggested that Maddison Seating contact my credit card company, as I know company to company they can resolve this. I received an email reply back threatening me with legal action if I did not call my credit card company myself. Now this sh*tstain of a company can have a grand ole time waiting their up to 30 days for their return all because their "billing" or "chargeback department" didn't check their credit card reports before issuing me a refund. This was not my fault, or my credit card companies fault. Maddison Seating has a poor reputation and that reputation has proven itself with this interaction. I will be contacting the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the Federal Trade Commission, and the New York State Attorney General about their scammy business practices. Do not buy from this company.
Purchased a "New Open-Box" chair from Madison Seating on eBay and received a used and poorly refurbished chair. Upholstery was re-wrapped with visible staples and excess material, vinyl wrapped armrests, painted parts and over spray and chair was dirty. I contacted them multiple times to fix get them to send me what their listing stated. They refused to acknowledge that they sent me a refurbished chair and even threatened to "block" me. Thank god for eBay's money back guarantee. Do your research before you buy from these scammers. Owner has been sued by Herman Miller TWICE and Steelcase flags them as gray market sellers… basically selling junk.
Madison seating offered me a fantastic price for the Steelcase Leap chair and fantastic service offering me a free replacement when it shipped with some issues.
They are responsive fast and friendly to deal with and I definitely recommend buying from them.
I have been using a cheaper chair for many months, which eventually started hurting my back from sitting all day working at home. I decided to upgrade to a nice chair and was very excited to buy the chair I ordered from Madison Seating since I was able to get it "open box" at such a great deal. The chair unfortunately didn't come in the best condition and seemed to suffer a few damages in transportation. However, I contacted customer support and they responded promptly and were able to resolve the problem quickly. I'm happy with my experience!
If you don't have product you shouldn't be selling it. Two plus weeks to ship in 2021 is unacceptable or don't charge CC until you ship, I'm not your bank.
Though I tried to contact their customer service team many times, they just don't respond in time and kept making excuses for the delayed shipment, which is truly annoying. In the latest email, they even blamed me for not sending the email to "explicitly confirm the order to proceed" after they told me the delayed date the second time. I guess there might be some serious problems going on in their supply side and they want to push me cancel the order from my side.
Anyway, don't order anything on this website if you want to get your chair within a reasonable time. But if you are willing to wait for half a year, then give it a try and good luck.
I purchased a refurbished freedom chair, which i was replacing one that i purchased originally for over $1,000 - madison seating's price was about $200 - there was a slight blemish, if you really look for it, but other than that it was a brand new and perfect chair.
Be sure to read Madison Seating's return/exchange policy before you buy. They have a hefty re-stocking fee. And not only do you have to pay for your own return shipping, but you also have to pay for the original shipping charge, if you do a return. Also, as I read it, the manufacturer's warranty doesn't apply. Madison Seating has its own warranty of only one year. So be very sure of your purchase before you actually buy it. I received my office chair missing a caster. They said they will send me one, so I hope they do... But if I had known that their "customer satisfaction guarantee" came with such high costs, I would have purchased from the actual product site so I could have the manufacturer's warranty and the guarantee of return or exchange shipping included. Also, there were no assembly instructions, and, though it was easy to figure out, I thought there should be instructions. And there were no instructions about adjusting the chair. Also no shipping or purchase receipt inside or outside the box.
I bought a herman miller aeron chair and decided to splurge on adding attachments they had available at checkout on on August 5th, 2021.
I received a confirmation email from Madison Seating saying:
"The estimated delivery time frame for all in stock items is 10-14 business days from the order date. Should the item selected not be in stock, you will receive an email notification. The FedEx tracking information will be emailed to you prior to shipment so you will know the exact date of delivery."
This was the only email received so I assumed my item was in stock and would be receiving the chair in 10-14 days.
13 days from the purchase I heard nothing from them about the shipping details of my order so I reached out to get the estimated time of arrival of my chair. They responded with another email stating I should wait 10-14 days and it had only been 13 days... Nice.
I reached back out to them 21 days (August 26th) after purchase date with a requested update. They then respond telling me how COVID has really affected their business and that they hope my family is safe and well (I don't care to discuss my family's health to a chair warehousing business. I'd much rather discuss my $600 purchase that is no where to be found). Also in the email they told me if should be shipping early to mid September. Ambiguous. Love it.
Four days later, I am charge the full $600 amount for the chair with 0 shipping details. I am actually notified by my bank that I was charged - not by the company. Seems legit. I reach out asking what is the status as I was just charged the full amount. Their response:
"You were charged as the stock was allocated to your order and the chair is being worked on.
With limited staff working and holidays closures all of next week, we estimate the delivery to be around mid September.
Do you wish to cancel and be refunded?
Sarina"
It is now September 28th, nearly 2 months of back and fourth emails with ambiguous shipping dates from them.
TL; DR
Madison Seating is a headache and I would HIGHLY recommend just buying the real deal instead of trying to get a second hand Herman Miller chair. VERY unimpressive operation they have going on!
I ordered an Aeron chair from them on Sep 2, never even received an automatic email confirmation for the order, only got it a week later when I asked a question. Emailing them is pretty useless, btw, as you just get a canned response, rather than something that actually addresses your inquiry.
In any case, today is September 20th, and there is still no sign of the chair. I call them to say that unless the chair is shipping like RIGHT NOW, I would like to cancel the order. The sales rep said that because of delays the chair is only going to ship early October. Was I ever notified of that? Would I have known that if I didn't call? Of course not!
And then she says, "You will receive a confirmation that the order is canceled, bye". THAT is the kind of service you should expect if you order from them. If you expect literally any semblance of professionalism, this isn't the company to order from.
I recently purchased a ThinkChair from Madison Seating. The chair was delivered prior to the anticipated delivery date and assembly was easy. The sales and customer service representatives have been phenomenal! I will, definitely, buy more products from them.
Ordered on 29 August. As of 9 September, it said "ship ready" and would not be arriving soon. The original quote of 14 business days was a bit long, but more than that - forget it. How can you stay in business when you take 10 days just to get stuff "ready" to ship?

Ordered two Humanscale chairs. They both look brand new, function great. One of the chairs had a part damaged in transit. They immediately FedEx'ed out a replacement part but do to a misunderstanding didn't realize the part they sent was the other half of the broken part. They are sending out a replacement chair to solve the problem. Can't blame them that the carrier beat the chair up in transit.
I recently bought a SteelCase think chair. The description of the chair says that the castors are compatable with carpets. They are not, as they cause the piston of the chair to drag on the carpet and bottom out. I reached out to there service department and their response was, "To bad, you can buy new wheels on ebay or amazon"

We offered to pick up the chair at our expense and issue a full refund as we are now sold out of the blue Aeron chair. We did not intentionally ship you an incorrect color chair. Mistakes happen. This was an honest mistake done by a packer, probably due to the holiday rush. The color black and blue are hard to discern on a mesh chair. Please return the chair at this point as your reaction to the error has been a tad excessive.

The manufacturer makes specific wheels if the chair is being used on carpet. The buyer was given a lot of care and attention to his questions.
