The company was ok with their first boss that worked there when I arrived, she was a hardworking, well organized manager. But when she quit taking on a better job, the new boss was terrible at managing the company, managing employee’s times, and understanding the duties of each employee.

I somehow got on the Petco email list (probably when I ordered online) and they send as many as 5 emails ads every day. I've tried repeatedly to 'unsubscribe', and my 'account' shows that I am unsubscribed, but the emails keep coming. I've talked with customer service reps, their online support rep, and all assure me that I am unsubscribed - but the emails keep coming. I can't get off their email list and their ads fill my email box every day. Frustrating!

Its pretty slow but I've learned many new things there about animals I didn't know. My co workers are great people and funny, we are a great team of workers. I think the harest part about the job is when you try to inform people about the animals need and they simply don't care or working at the register and they found the item to be a different prices then it is. And cleaning crickets, I'm still kind of jumpy about them. – less

Petco site kept freezing, couldn't take order, Petco than locked me out and didn't send email with a code to open my account. Chat not helpful.
Attempts to call up by phone and order took a ridiculously long time... an hour for one order? Never again.

I ordered food for my dog to take on our Christmas vacation. I ordered on Wednesday evening, and paid for one day shipping, thinking that it would be shipped the next day, as advertised on their website. After multiple calls, emails, chats, etc, I was informed that my order had not shipped, and would not ship until the following Monday (too late to take with us) but that I would still be charged the additional $15 for one day shipping. Customer service was horrid. They won't be getting any more of my money.

I waited a week and half for my Exo Terra terrarium. It finally arrived and had a broken glass door. When called said they would get another one out but would take another week and half to arrive. What happens when it arrives broke another week and half. Not worth saving the $30.00 to wait to get.

I recently bought a twin tailed Betta from your store and I explicitly asked an employee if it could be kept in a community tank with other non-aggressive fish and he replied yes. Seeing the Betta swim in the store tank with 10 other guppies, I decided to believe him. I have been keeping a healthy community tank for about a year. Shortly after introducing the Betta to my tank, it had it's back fin torn. I isolated it for treatment immediately but it still died.
The Betta must have carried some sort of disease because soon afterwards, one of my platy fish died, as well as all three neon tetras. A day later my cory catfish died and my lyre-tail guppy is about to. Nearly my entire fish tank has been killed off. This has been an extremely depressing experience for me as I really enjoyed keeping fish. I am beyond disappointed with Petco and will NEVER be visiting their store again. Not only have I wasted time and money on their fish, I have been completely disheartened waking up each morning and seeing another dead fish stuck to the filter.
I strongly advise you to NEVER buy their products.

I have bought many items from this store. They have a great range of inventory. I have a cat, dog, and lizard. I was able to buy equipment for my lizard as well as food and other stuff for my dog and cat. I like how I can find everything I need at petco.

Terrible experience
December 22, 2012

Terrible experience. Tried to shop Black Friday sales on petco.com, and site was slow. Could not check out. Finally was able to check out and my item was out of stock. Selected to be emailed when item available. Received email on my phone that the item was back in stock and immediately ordered, within 30 minutes of the email arrival. Paid using PayPal for the item, funds were withdrawn, and yet item back ordered again, spoke with a rep, who said it should be in soon, and arrive before Christmas. Writing this review 2 days before Christmas. Don't have the item and Paypal funds are gone to petco, have cancelled & requested refund. Very disappointed all around and will not use petco in the future. The phone representatives were pleasant and professional but the bottom line is I never got my order, which I paid for.

I love my pets and often indulge them with toys and treats. Instead of going to pet stores, which can be smelly and awful, I order those things from petco.com. Once or twice I had an issue with an item being delayed but never long enough to upset me. Overall, this is probably one of only two places where I'd shop online for my pets (the other being 1800petmeds).

They have a large selection of products but the prices are expensive compared to other online pet stores. Other sites offer free shipping on all orders. I like to shop online but only if the prices are the same or less then my local store. I would not suggest shopping at Petco's online store.

I was impressed with the customer serivce of this website. I ordered a large amount of rawhides, pigs ears and stocking stuffers for my Pomeranians, and they came within 4-days of order! I didn't even pay express shipping. The website was easy to navigate and I was able to order quickly.
