Should not exist
April 19, 2022

I did not want to join skillshare but was tricked into an annual membership of 215 dollars. I will do everything I can to get my money's worth...

Awful for teachers
March 9, 2022

If you're a teacher, be careful! One time they will kick you off from the platform with the following message:

"Upon review, the majority of watchers of your content appeared related to each other with inauthentic account information. As the misrepresentation of minutes watched, reviews, or referrals goes against our terms of service, the account was closed. "

I can with confidence say that I have never been involved in any kind of manipulations with my account and all students and views were acquired exceptionally organically.

Teachers, just stay away! Youtube is better ;)

I had a problem with getting access to my account.
The assistant was helping but then suddenly stopped replying. I tried to reach her again and even sent another request through the website, but still to answer whatsoever. Now I can't reached my account which I paid for. Very dissapointed. I used to love this company.

Outdated
February 25, 2022

I feel you can find most of the stuff Skillshare has online for free through other online services such as YouTube. Also, be aware your membership auto-renews so if you paid you only have 7 days to contact them for a refund.

Skillshare unable to complete a basic software SaaS requirement. I wanted to continue to use my paid subscription however login email address was cancelled due to business sale. Authentication system inadequate and of course Skillshare kept the remaining balance whilst not letting me access account.

Skillshare also unaware of Australia data sovereignty and privacy charter regulations and laws asking customers to send passport to license for verification, even though verified via PayPal transactions and receipts.

I started one year subscription in end of 2019. After taking a few classes I found there are not too many contents in there. So the one year subscription is not really worth it. Never mind, since I already paid, nothing I can do. But just last month, when I got my credit card statement, it got charged $99 again for automatic renew. I immediately try to call the company, but there is no number to call. So I submitted a ticket online and request a refund since I haven't even use the site for months. The response is if it passes 7 days then you don't get any refund.
I would avoid such deceptive company which use a default setting to get as much as possible from its customers.

Deceptive Membership Fees
January 6, 2022

Be warned, they are relentless in accessing membership fees without notice. Additionally, the membership fees are variable and you could see different pricing from others. The staff that handle membership complaints, and refund process, are trained to avoid and delay the complaints about unauthorized charges by all means.

As for the quality of classes... that's content.

As for the quality of the company... duplicitous.

Poor Customer Service
January 5, 2022

I was charged for the membership renewal without prior notice. When I realized it, I cancelled quickly on the website. They refused to give me a refund as it was not within seven days. My credit card company would not cancel the charge referring to their terms of service. But they say that you can use your account if you were charged for the period remaining but they want to charge me again. I have now sent three emails without any answer as to why I cannot at least use my account. This is the worst customer service I have ever encountered. I have automaticf renewals with other companies and they ALWAYS send a notice before charging. Do not deal with this company, they should be fined for improper practices.

Content Not Bad But Watch the Renewals
November 28, 2021

I signed up for Skillshare last year for some photography courses. They courses were okay. Unfortunately I forgot about the subscription until I noticed the renewal charge on my credit card. That's where their 7-day refund policy catches you. I never received notification of the pending renewal nor did I receive notification of the renewal charge. They just hit the credit card which I caught at my end-of-month review of charges. And they are pretty firm on their 7-day refund. So if you do sign up, make sure you set a reminder for that one-year anniversary. They definitely value their $99 more than the good will of their customers.

Horrible experience!
August 23, 2021

I got a free trial for 30 days and only watched some courses for 30 mins and forgot to cancel. And they charged $168.99 dollars for a whole year! Money wasted! Especially during the pandemic when money is tight. This just makes my situation so much worse!
I contacted them to cancel my plan and receive a refund and they straight up rejected me.

I already have an account but haven't used this site in a long time. So I wanted to take a look at what classes they currently have, but the site redirects me to 'checkout' and doesn't even let me look at what the site has. I can't even log out of my account so that I can take a look at what the site has to offer before being forced to give them money. No, skill share, I am NOT going to give you money before I am even allowed to see what classes you have. I don't see why the site blocks me out of seeing the site if I am logged in and why it doesn't even give me an option to log out. I kind of what to see what is being offered before paying over $160 a year or $30 a month.

Poor customer service
July 7, 2021

I signed up for a trial of SkillShare because of a creator they had. The course wasn't great, but that's ok. I didn't cancel my trial in time. I had some issues with my account that they were seemingly very happy to help me with at the onset until it came time to actually solve my problem. The service was all sizzle, no steak. They were unwilling to help with a request that is pretty commonly accepted with all saas. They don't seem to value their customers, which is crazy in this day and age with so many options. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Horrible Predatory Support/Tactics
June 26, 2021

I am writing this review to hopefully save future customers the pain/frustration of dealing with Skillshare. I signed up for the free trial to see the classes. I then and went to cancel at the end. It was too late they had charged me the annual fee 158 Cad. I opened a ticket with support to get a refund. (They took 4 days too respond) Then told me because its been 7 days (i wrote them on day 4) they are unable to refund me. Several emails later expressing i will not be able to make rent this month(I was only going to get the monthly sub not the annual) Still no refund.

Absolutely Vile Company. 0/10 Would not recommended.

Beware of your renewals. They have a 7-day policy and do not email you any notifications of the upcoming charges. They also do not send you any receipts of any transactions that get charged on your card. I will not do business with a company with such little regard for customer notification, especially on such a high amount. Their annual subscription of $99 should definitely be notified and a receipt sent. I emailed them asking for a refund and noted that I received no communication regarding this charge and they denied my request. Unless, you are someone who keeps track of every subscription and also checks their cc statements every day or week, you will lose money. Save yourself the trouble by not doing business with them. There are better apps and websites.

Guys, I like the classes on skill share but what the hell, my account has been deactivated and there has been no further contact from the support team other than the initial contact. I mean I like going through the classes here and as far my knowledge I haven't done anything outrageous. I checked credit info and it's alright. What you guys take money from willing customers and butcher them too? The classes are really good, I miss them.

On the phone with my credit card company now trying to block the next charge. Same story as others. I've tried to cancel my account with three emails and three phones calls. No contact link of any kind on their website. I got their phone number from my credit card statement, not from their website.
You call their phone number and get an answering machine telling you to email them.
You can go to the Terms and Conditions page and there's a link there that is supposed to be where you can cancel. But it only allows you to add new payment methods. SCAMMERS

Unethical Company
April 8, 2021

Unfortunately, the company relies on charging customers even after they canceled their subscription. I have canceled my membership during the trial as it didn't work for me, but they continue to charge my card. When I reached to the customer service, they ignored my complaint, refused to refund me, and instead tried to sell me more services. Really unprofessional, unethical and least sensitive. They don't have any escalation process either. Never gonna use them again.
