I've seen enough of these to notice a pattern: a small company crowdfunding capital so they can secure additional financing. Then... nothing. Even those opportunities that turn public, or are taken over, will be no more than a breakeven proposition. If that. Save your cash for the real stock/bond markets.

The take your money and make you wait 10 months 10 months then send it back to you, I would really prefer wefunder much better and better and understanding customer service, don't invest in start engine totally useless

Amazing tool for new investors and companies to support each other and share the wealth! I'm an investory myself and found them through an innovative new whiskey company on the market.

I have been with Start Engine now for over three years. I have invested in about ten companies. I was excited about the opportunity to invest in small start-ups. Just last week, I received an email stating:

"Based on information obtained during a standard review, we have determined it is necessary to close your StartEngine account. This decision will stand for the foreseeable future, and cannot be appealed. All pending investments within the account have been canceled, and any refund that is due will be processed.

Please find attached the ownership documents for your finalized investments. These documents are all you require in order to verify your ownership of these investments.

When pushed for an answer on a second and third email, here is what I received:

So my investments are still good, but I cannot reinvest, cash out, or interact with these companies. I will try to reach out to each of them individually, but I think if you cancel my account, you should provide the reasoning for the decision.

If you are looking to invest, find another company that is more reputable.

Mr. Wonderful should be sitting in jail with the crypto Bahamas guy. You give start engine money and then…. Nothing. No communication, not trade able, no communications from the so called start up you put money in, the money is gone. $5000 into some company called graze whose only communication was to send me an email saying they contracted out to some other company to track who owned what shares. Useless hope they are enjoying my money. I'll never see it again. I hope the Californian AG starts an investigation into this scam.

While they claim to help start ups with offerings and going public. There are no representatives for you to talk to unless you are investing. If you are seeking investing, it is 100% radio silence except for spam. Soliciting you to buy into other peoples businesses. They tell you to show up places to meet the man, they tell you schedule appointments, all in spam. You respond and eagerly wait for their responses for nothing. There is no customer service, they refuse to delete accounts even on request. Who is to say who all they sell your information to, they claim they have to retain the information for 5 years. If you are seeking investing, you sign up for an investors account. So even if you have no business with them and you find out they are a sham. They still get to keep your information which depicts you as a client/investor. WHICH IS A LIE AND MANIPULATION! They can use this information to receive lending, deceive investors, and deceive the public about their real intentions. Which I believe in not to help you... It is the same old corporate scam of self service. 100% If you are seeking investments... these people will not help you unless they know you. So be prepared to have to go to their events and make sure you get noticed. If you don't... They have no time for you unless you are giving them money.

Signed up, was excited about the Legion M offer. Purchased the shares, and received an "account needs validation" message. Uploaded my proof of ID, but now the system says there is a problem with my account and to contact customer support. No customer support number to call, auto reply from the support email states to give them up to 72 hours (outside my payment protection of 48 hours). This group has literally stolen my money, and is preventing me from reversing the transaction, and has failed to respond. Ponzi scheme? All the "real person" reviews on this group is negative... the only positive reviews are from sponsored publications. Avoid StartEngine at all costs, at some point they will get exposed, RIP my deposit.

Start engine moved the Terms box at the top right. By doing so this created fewer investors which lead to lesser capital on the companies I invested in. I know because I follow them and others. I contacted the companies I invested in and was told they also noticed a major drop in investors. Even Start Engines secondary market place is screwed up. That did not work for a long time until recently, but now it only has Start Engine's wine stock. Where are other companies that trade? I contacted Start Engine a number of times and get excuses and BS. I won't invest any more through Start Engine because I want my companies to grow, but with what Start Engine has done jeopardizes each companies chances to grow. Start Engine is just too unreliable.

Looking forward to how the company grows, and working with them by investing in start ups

I researched them all and IMO Start Engine is the best crowdfunding platform. Everything is laid out and easy to understand.You can get bonus shares and more and you can also invest in the platform itself. And it's backed by Mr.Wonderful so of course it's the best one!

I responded to a StartEngine Ad recruiting investors for a new company called Boxabl. I was very attracted to the fundamentals of boxable and I still believe it to be a wise investment. I invested $2000 on June 8,2022 and they showed my money in escrow waiting for the campaign to end. After the first campaign ended my money still set in escrow in Boxabl without explanation. I tried to communicate with them but they answer your emails in a generic fashion. I found it odd Odd that on Nov. 1st, 2022, I saw a new campaign started raising more money for Boxabl. I checked my StartEngine account online and saw that my initial investment had been refunded on October 31,2022. No explanation, no interest on my money, just a refund without explanation almost 5 months after I made the investment. After a little research I find out that the company Boxabl is doing great and expanding quickly. Hey StartEngine, What happened to my investment in Boxabl? I hope your poor customer service and Reputation of broken dreams drives you broke!

I have nothing but great things to say about Start engine. This site is used to crowdfund Fanbase and that's the only reason I needed. Find a start up and invest in the site. Either way you won't be disappointed!

Took my $ and never invested it in boxable and neve asked me for more info to get the investment moving forward.

In June of 2022, I invested in the Rentberry offering, verified my profile, linked my bank and funded, no issues. Then the other day I wanted to invest in Boxable but for some reason they made me verify everything again and link my bank to get approved for investing.

I invested $1K and called it a day. Then I get an email that says "Deposit Funds" so I thought I had to do so for the investment and I did, another $1000. When I check my Boxable investment the "Funds Received" tab is NOT checked so where is my money? The $1K is gone from my bank. I reached out to customer support (*******@startengine.com) and... crickets.

Will they take another $1K for the actual investment? No, because I'm canceling the 2nd one and filing a complaint with the better business bureau to get my $1K back. And also may file with the FTC since it seems they're driving up their value by taking and holding our funds for no reason.
