Ordered sweater when it was on sale. Got an email saying sweater was sold out and my order was cancelled.
Their webs site had the sweater still available in all sizes for a higher price. Contacted them for an explanation but have recieved no response. I should have checked the reviews before ordering from this company.
The first rep today. I politely asked how he was, Andre told me he was doing terribly! I said I hoped his day got better, mine got worse, he transferred me to the wrong company that Comenity also owns. OH MY GOD! It is really bad when folks who are having a bad day are customer service reps but the person after him was WONDERFUL...she gets 5 stars
With the tremendous decline in the quality of your clothes and customer service, I'm shocked that your stores are still doing business, unless there's a drastic change, the future of Talbots stores does not look to bright.
Talbots clothing is not returnable. They are wrinkly and cheap for top dollar. Retaining your business is not important to them. I only want to shop at stores such as Chico's that stand behind their products, not scamming their customers.
I placed an order in November 2 and it never showed. They then said it was resent at December 23. Still nothing. Now they claim they are processing a credit but two months later and I still don't have a credit.
I have been an avid shoppers at Talbots here in New England for the past 20 years. The ladies in the store know me on a first name basis. I have spent THOUSANDS on merchandise from this store over the years. I have sung this stores praises to my family and friends for as long as I can remember.
Recently, I had to return a handful of items (they were sales items, not full price) to the store that did not work for me. I had unknowingly made the grave error of returning the clothing without the tags attached. I did have the original receipts with the items highlighted. The attitude I got from the first employee who assisted me was one of contempt (eye rolling, annoyed sighing, etc). She said she couldn't do anything without the tags and had to get the manager. I thought to myself, "oh that would be okay, I know *her" (*name omitted - not trying to get people fired). When the manager finally came out, there was a line of people behind me, and the store was very busy. To my shock (and sadness) she told me in front of this whole store that I would be getting "the speech." She said that once the tags are removed, the items are no longer returnable. I had no idea. She then said she would make an "exception" this one time, but that this exception be recorded on my "profile." (?) I told her I felt like I was in the principals office. She said "Well, you sort of are." Was it really necessary to humiliate me like this? I also felt foolish for being so loyal to this store. I had placed *22* online orders in 2022.
While they were processing the 5 or 6 items I returned without tags, I took the clothes that I had intended to buy that day, and put them back on the rack.
After they completed the transaction, I was so embarrassed, I went out to my car and cried. I felt like I had lost an old friend.
I feel that Talbots no longer cares about its customers. I don't understand the point of berating a loyal customer over 5 or 6 items without tags. Is this truly a scenario worth losing a good customer? For this store, it is, I guess. I have paid off my Talbots credit card, and will not return.
I had exhausted all efforts in finding appropriate clothes for a funeral I had to attend the following day. Just at closing I sneaked into Talbots Factory Store in Manchester, VT, where I was helped by Joyce. She had supreme people skills & knew the inventory well. Within 15 min. I walked out of the store completely set with a beautiful, versatile outfit that I can wear many times more. Joyce has, "the stuff," that all customer service reps should have. She was extremely patient, but professional at all times. I am very lucky to have found Joyce right in my time of need. She is a top-notch asset to Talbots, & deserves to be highly acknowledged! Because of Joyce, I will return to this store again & again. She is a 5-Star employee!
I have been a long term shopper at Talbots and the quality used to be worth the prices. However, there is a noticeable decline in the quality and garments I have purchased more recently do not launder well at all despite following the recommended laundry method in the garments. Some were in such poor condition after the first laundry that they can no longer be worn. Given the prices even on sale, this is inexcusable. Also, their return or exchange policy is within 60 days of purchase. Most companies have a longer time frame. I wanted to exchange several pairs of pants that wear never worn and still had the tags on them for smaller sizes but even though the same items were still carried, I was denied. I will no longer shop at Talbots!
What happened to Talbots? Used to buy nice classic clothing there 3 decades ago and as recently as some 5-10 years ago. They used to have pretty models, too. When things were on sale, it was real sale. But the last couple years, the styles became dowdy, and since the pandemic, it's getting ridiculous. Sky rocketing prices but much worse quality and styles. All the tops are extra long and look like lounge wears. The pants are all over $100, even on sale they are at least $80. I used to buy nice full length pants on sale for less than $30 even several years ago. The models aren't attractive at all. If you are trying to appeal to older women (I heard they are now more targeting at older women), why would older women spend $$$ for lounge wears intead of just shopping at Walmart? The prices and qualities don't match. It's sad. I haven't bought anything from Talbots this year.
I ordered over £40.00 worth of clothing from this site on 2nd Dec 2022 and despite many emails back and forth and every excuse under the sun, I have never received my order. I have requested a full refund which they have confirmed I will receive but as yet I'm still waiting.
I was looking for a pair of Ivory hampshirew pants in size 12 petite, and the associate Jean in Garden City Cranston checked multiple locations and online and was unsuccessful. She went over and beyond but it was busy and the phones were in use and had to keep waiting for the phone. She told me the above # store had one. I called and caught a woman named Dawn. She also went over and beyond to find these pants. She went into the basement and checked all over the store to find this one pair that she may have had but to no avail. She gave me 5 store numbers to try and on the first try in New York I was successful. This is why I shop at Talbots, the sales people I deal with are pleasant and do go overboard to make the customer happy. A big shout out to Jean and Dawn for their efforts!
Thank you ladies, and Talbots.
This company (if it actually exists) IS A COMPLETE SCAM!
I ordered boots and cardigans from them. In the pictures, the clothing looked amazing! On the delivery date I received a useless ring from "Amy in Los Angeles". This 'company' and Preferentialls operate the same way. You order, you receive a useless ring and there is NO way to contact them to make any query. Do yourself a favor...BYPASS THEIR USELESS WEBSITE...you will be grateful you did!
I tried to order a few things from the recent catalog. Customer service was just horrible, the women did not speak English very well also there was very loud talking in the back round. I did not feel comfortable giving my information to her. I guess I could do with out the clothing.
I've been a Talbots customer for over 15 years at New England stores. Since 2020, the level of customer service both in the store and on the phone has been atrocious. I cannot blame the store associates as they are paid minimum wage, expected to reach out and book customer appointments, wear masks all during the pandemic when it wasn't even required of customers to wear them, and work less than an 8 hr shift. Most are lovely people but are being compensated poorly and hence reflective on the sales floor. The phone line associates are all different in their understanding of applying promotions and discounts, abhorrent speaking skills, and just plain rude behavior. Overworked and underpaid. The quality of the product has decreased and the cost increased. The credit card interest rate is at almost 30%! Are you kidding?! The clothing line repeats itself year after year. It's very sad and the end seems near. The "Red Hangar" sale is now non existent?! What is going on at Talbots?!
I ordered over £40 of clothing and didn't receive any of it. They sent me an email saying it had been delivered to the resident but that's a lie! I haven't received anything but they took my money quick enough. Disgusted with them.
I ordered 2 sweaters as Christmas gifts months ago. I never received them. I ordered a blue XL & a lavender 3X. Very unhappy. I either want what I paid for or a full refund.
Trying to get thru to the call center customer service is impossible. This is because Talbots treats their employees terribly and they're overworked and underpaid.
I received a Christmas gift from Talbot's. When I tried it on the tag fell off which was never sewn in very good (which is poor workmanship). I went to return this item ($150.) but they would not accept it because the tag had fallen off. No store credit, nothing. This is very poor store service. I had my gift receipt to show them but still nothing.
Ordered a sweater coat over a month ago and it said it was delivered but I never got it! Emailed them 5 times and no response! DONT BUY FROM THEM!
Answer: China, where everything else is made these days. I don't think many, if any, of their products are made in the USA.
Answer: They are sneaky. Waited over a month for a jacket, returned it and a month later I asked where is my credit. They said they received and put a credit in my account (not what I wanted as I purchased jacket elsewhere) but never notified me they received and I have a credit. In other words, they just keep unsuspecting customers' money and never tell you. I will never shop there again (except to use my credit if I can't get them to credit my card hahaha)
Answer: I have never had an issue with exchanges. I have never requested a refund.
Answer: The quality of the clothes going back about 10-15 years ago was EXCELLENT. I still have shorts purchased then but they are now showing their age. Purchased similar over the last get years and while they are still $60 the quality is on par with perhaps Walmart
Answer: They are easy to reach and cooperative. They are responsive to customer's needs
Answer: They are a legitimate company and have been in business for many years
