Even though it will cost me a little more than the big local retailer that will install for free, I am willing to absorb it because I so appreciate all the reviews and testing that Tire Rack does, which allows me to make a truly informed decision about which tires to buy for my car and driving style.

Wasn't a fan of the sales person working the counter, was giving me issues with mounting my wheels on my rims. TG for the workers that installed them that took the time to show him it would work.

The tires I purchased was rated for 45,000 miles, but lasted about 8,000 miles; I had an independent tire shop installed my tires, since I cannot proof mileage at installation, tire rack refused any prorating of warranty!

My last order was for tires for my 1973 Formula 455 Firebird. A rep called to verify the size I ordered (275/40ZR 17) because they were never available for any car as an OE tire in the "70s. I appreciated the confirmation call.

I could not understand the rep. I asked for another rep, but she hung up on me. Also, she kept asking for a "policy number", of which I had no idea what that was. Upon calling again and getting someone I could understand, I found out that this is the Road Hazard ID number. That is what the reps should ask for.

Just great. Although Tire Rack's recommended installer tried to sell me all sorts of unneeded add-on services - including telling me my timing belt was fraying, when I had just had it replaced the day before at the dealership.

This time I researched tires a recommended installer was provided. After I called the installer to verify that they would handle TireRack purchased tires, I went ahead and purchased 4 tires.
