I thigh that Trivago is in according with otel.com to steal money. That's sucks! Many people have a lit of complaints about otel.com and TRIVAGO never did any thing to help their customers.
BEWARE TRIVAGO BUSINESS SERVICE! Auto-renew scam
We have been B&B and Hotel owners for 10 years. I our experience the key is partnership with the 3rd party companies. We were 'sold' the Business service acc on 13/1/20, we were NOT told it would automatically renew. In fact told "try it and if don't like it then that's fine". 13/1/21 It AUTO-renewed (amidst Lock-down with our sector closed), no postal reminder - just an email designed to go straight into 'junk' and not be read. When I realized I immediately responded to be told no 14 day cooling off period when it's a renewal. Reluctantly paid after 4 debt collection letters. This is deliberate mis-selling, absolutely shameful! I will never do business again. Businesses BEWARE!
At the Universal Hilton, I had my second quinceaƱera. Ms. Violeta * * assisted me in the banquet space with everything I needed, as well as making a room reservation so I could stay after the party. She also helped me make the reservation to enjoy my family in the restaurant.
I booked a hotel 3/4/20 for 2/19/21 for my 50th birthday and received and itinerary the next day that says cannot cancel or amend and $678 was drafted through my Visa. I called the hotel and they have no idea who I am. They said to call closer to my trip. I called today, 12 days before my trip and they said my reservation doesn't exist (even have a confirmation number) and that have have not been paid for my trip. I reached out to cancelon support (who they make you pay with and emails your itinerary) and they only send automated emails that my trip may have been cancelled due to Covid. I am unable to get ANY help from Trivago, no number to call, the app is useless and not customer service chat to be found. I called the hotel again and they said that they have not been over booked and no hotels rooms were cancelled due to Covid at anytime. If my trip was cancelled, nobody told me in almost a year and where is my $678? I have had loss in hours due to Covid and CANNOT afford to lose $678 of money I worked for with no reservation! I filed a complaint with BBB! I feel I have been completely taken advantage of and plan to let the world know what a rip off Trivago is along with the "cancelon.com" party they use to make you pre pay for your trip!
OMG, this is the WORST website! I hired a lawyer to reach an agreement with Brackenridge House B&B contingent that I delete negative posts. Somehow, Google forwarded my review to Trivago and they WILL NOT delete my post which is costing me a recovery of $1,650! I have deleted my Google post and emailed Trivago FOUR times, also called transcontinental long distance to Dusseldorf Germany. DusselDORKS repeatedly reply they cannot delete my post. Danke nein. Google forwarded the post and is not returning my emails either.

Like burning money?
I booked my first trip with trivago in January on a third party site called Otel. I paid $1785 upfront for 4 days at Hyatt Regency coconut point. The hotel told me on 3/28 that they had canceled all reservations after 4/8 because they would be closing for corona virus. After numerous emails and internal messages I realized that the company has no intention of returning any of my money. Trivago says it's not their problem and Otel.com is completely unreachable without a working phone number. I paid $1785 for a voucher to a closed hotel that's not worth the paper it's printed on. 4 month later I'm still making payments to the CC card company for not going on this trip to a closed hotel (corona virus related temporary closure).
Found a bed bug right as I was going to bed. Notified the manager who then called the owner. The owner showed no instantly became rude n condescending. Flat out blamed us for bringing them in. No plan to remedy the problem. We requested our refund n left. Inspect thoroughly the beds! Think twice before considering staying here. Magnify that picture!
We were phoned by there sales team to sign up for a 12mth listing which we paid by credit card. Without our authority they held our card details and charged our card to renew the listing for a further 12 months without any notification they were doing it in the middle of the lockdown. Tried calling them about it but have not replied to our emails. This is a shocking way to deal with there providers and I will have to chargeback our card as this has never been authorized and in my view is just straight fraud.
Their customer service is awful. It is impossible to speak to anyone or get an email response. Right on the middle of the Corona virus I cant get any response. I am basically out $800. No response on a request to at least move the date. I will never purchase with them again and recommend travelers try other sites.
I booked two round-trip flights through Trivago. Having not used the site before, I called to confirm with American Airlines that my flight was showing up in their system; it was.
The very next day, a rude man who spoke very poor English called me to explain that the discounted price I booked at had expired and that additional money (hundreds of dollars) was due in order to prevent cancellation. I refused and they cancelled the reservation.
Some additional research into this Trivago partner showed a large contingent of other Trivago costumers that experience the exact seem thing. Trivago should be held accountable for deals they advertise through their website. I will be publisizing my awful experience dealing with this clear scam until I receive some sort of resolution.
Their information page lacks a lot to be desired if not just flat out misleading. We rented a room in Lubbock, Texas with the address marked I at one location only to be deverted to another location on the worst possible side of town. Then we were told we couldn't be transferred to the original location. And on top of that we couldn't get a refund.
We will never use Trivago again. Bye bye!
Trivago will make a reservation and give you a confirmation number for a hotel and when you arrive there will be no room for you and your reservation number in the hotel's computer it happened to the gentleman in front of us who used Trivago and it happened to us you're sitting on a sofa at midnight waiting to get into our room when payment has been taken off of our credit card Trivago is an absolutely horrid way to abuse your time do yourself a favor and don't use Trivago ever unless you like being extremely inconvenienced
Way to many crappy recommendations... don't waste your time and use couchsurfing or airbnb instead honestly.
I can see its very useful. Accomodating. Everything is fine. I can surely advice to evryone to see this and i make sure they will love it too.
I had an amazing experience searching hotels on this site. Sometimes the excessive publicity of a business is all for nothing, but this time I wasn't disappointed. Amazing web with amazing results
As simple as the title suggests - Trivago endorses CancelOn (scammers). I do not recommend Trivago or CancelOn.
The wifi is great... nice pool... playground for kids... clean everyday the room... minibar microwave. Only steps of pizza hut wallgreens... and 15 min. The wallmart

My husband was sent to Hotel Power through the Trivago website. Hotel Power took our money but never made the reservation. I see in the reviews that this has happened to many other people. My husband sat for 3 hours in the hotel lobby calling Trivago and Hotel Power to try and straighten this out. His calls were not returned and finally, shortly after 5pm, he was told the Trivago office was closed! No one has ever gotten back to him. Trivago is responsible for sending people to Hotel Power, a company that obviously is scamming people. The Internet has many complaints similar to ours about Trivago and Hotel Power. From now on we'll book directly with the hotel. At least that way we'll know we actually have a reservation.
Kani Residency@ Thoothukudi is an excellent place to stay and worth for money. Special thanks to Mr. P Sampath Rao and his team for making my 2 days stay a very comfortable. Must say their room service boys were very good and courteous. A very good South Indian restaurant attached for meals and breakfast. Over all a very good place to stay.
Answer: The bottom line is good luck with that. Nobody cares and they may email you back but nothing will happen and i guarantee if you gave someone money for a service it is gone forever. There are so many rip off sites related to Trivago it is unreal.
Answer: Dear Michelle, Thank you for your message and I would be happy to help. Depending on the booking site you choose to make your reservation with (ex. Expedia, booking.com, Agoda etc.) you may be required to prepay for the booking in full, an authorization (hold) on your credit card may be placed, or you may have to simply pay upon check out at the hotel. I would suggest reading the policy of the particular booking site you use, to see how their payment process works. As trivago is a hotel meta-search, meaning users can search and compare different hotels and prices on our site, we pull information from multiple OTAs (online travel agencies such as Expedia or Booking.com) and display the prices together. However, once a user clicks through to book a room, they are directed to the appropriate booking site which provides that price to complete reservation and payment details. Trivago doesn't actually have any involvement in the making of the booking. Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance. Kind regards, James Morrison Trivago user support.
