I drove 45 minutes to my appt, arrived and the office said this doctor is not accepting new patients and would need to reschedule me. I scheduled through ZocDoc for the first time and it will also be the last time! With gas in CA being $6.25 a gallon a round trip 90 min drive to not even get your appointment is not my idea of a well run company. I called them and they told me there was nothing they could do! I'm beyond irritated and highly disappointed in this "company" … never again!
If I could give ZOCDOC negative stars I would. They had people searching for med management and coming up with MY name and I am very obviously an LMHC (as advertised). They charged me 450$! And ALL of the client asked me to prescribe them medicine. ZOCDOC IS A FRAUD! I even made sure my reasons to search me had nothing to do with meds and made sure zocdoc did not see it on there end. After they agreed, they still did not refund me. FRAUD! I will blast this website until you FRAUDS give me back my MOTHERLOVIN MONEY!
My wife and I both suffer from chronic pain and have used ZocDoc with mixed results. However in the past month we've scheduled three appointments between us on ZocDoc, and in each case the physician's office has called us back to let us know the information on ZocDoc was wrong, either showing availability that wasn't accurate (meaning we didn't really have an appointment), or listing services the doctor doesn't provide (meaning we had an appointment with a doctor who couldn't help us). It's consumed a lot of time and been a major inconvenience. We won't rely on this site again.
Hi John. Thank you for leaving this feedback. Providers on Zocdoc are actually in charge of the information listed on their profile. This means availability and visit reasons listed are chosen and adjusted by the office directly. We want to make sure this information remains accurate as providers guarantee the information they list. When you have a moment, please give us a call at (855) 962-3621 so we can collect more information to be able to follow up with these offices directly.
I used Zocdoc about 2 years ago to make an appointment and had no problem, however, most recently I used Zocdoc because I wanted to make an appointment for some depression that I was experiencing, so I figured I would have no problem. This however was not the case! The first doctor I picked - it said accepted my insurance, and I booked the appointment. The next day, I get a call from their office, saying that unfortunately they don't accept my insurance, even though, it said online that they did! So, then I went and I book another appointment with a different doctor. This time, I did not receive a confirmation phone call, but when I went back onto Zocdoc, - it just said that the Doctor cancelled my appointment because it conflicted with something else...wait - what!? So finally, I found another Doctor and booked with her. This time I got an email saying I needed to fill out some form with my insurance information, etc, so I filled it out, but the when I tried to submit the form, I got a message saying there was some problem and to call the doctor directly, and there was a phone number. When I called the number, I got a voice mail, saying they were directing me a chat line - like seriously, can this get any worse!? So I go to the chatline, only to be told that they can't help me, and they will email me later. But wait, my appointment can't be confirmed until I fill out the form and then there's no one to talk to, only the impersonal chat line! Ok, what good is it really? I went and cancelled that appointment. I am done with Zocdoc for a while... all in all,...and extremely aggravating experience! Who needs it?
Hi Christianne, thank you for bringing this to our attention. Your feedback is extremely valuable. We are so sorry to hear this was your experience using our platform. That's not how Zocdoc is intended to work at all. We strive to provide a seamless booking experience. We'd like to follow up with you regarding the multiple problems you had while using our platform, so that we can follow up with the providers as they are in complete control of the available times, in-network insurances, and profile information that they list so we expect it to be accurate as well. Please reach out to us at 855-962-3621 or service@zocdoc.com at your convenience. I want to ensure we help you find the healthcare you deserve as well! We look forward to speaking with you soon!
I signed up to find a new ob/gyn. My insurance is Blue Cross Federal, and it showed just all of the doctors I was interested in as out-of-network. When I contacted Blue Cross, they said that every doctor and practice I wanted was actually in-network. Zocdoc was a waste of time, and worse, I would have ended up with a doctor I didn't want.
Hi Susan. We are sorry yo hear about this but thanks for taking the time to leave this feedback. Turns out, offices themselves are in charge of listing accurate in network insurance information. We would love to get to follow up with these offices about these inaccuracies. Please feel welcome to reach us at service@zocdoc.com or at (855) 962-3621 so we can collect more information.
They charge providers $110 per patient even though patients don't show up to the appointment or if the appointment was done by a spammer. Will never use zocdoc again.
Hi Anmar, I'm very sorry for any confusion based on our fee-per-booking policy. Zocdoc is a marketing platform which is why you are charged for the booking when a new patient finds you on Zocdoc. We are not allowed to charge based on whether or not the appointment was successful and patients must verify their telephone number and email address in order to book an appointment to ensure they are legitimate. We would love to go over your concerns in more detail and see what we can do to assist you further. You may reach us at (866) 962-3621.
Zocdoc charges providers $70 for bookings even though the patient no showed or made an appointment with the wrong doctor. This is unscrupulous. If Zocdoc doesn't change their practice, they are going to lose providers soon. Zocdoc is no longer the same website as it was when it first started years ago.
Hi John. Thanks for the feedback. As we are a marketing platform, we charge when new patients find you through our website and book an appointment with you. If you have any other questions or concerns, please reach out to us at service@zocdoc.com or at (866) 962-3621.
I am in Ft. Collins and looking for a new doctor. I put in my zip code and it had doctors listed in Denver. I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome so why the hell would I want to drive all the way to Denver?
I even clicked on 10 miles away and still mostly Denver.
And not one of the Doctors or Nurses is in my United Healthcare book.
I have all the names in my new book and not one is listed from Zocdoc.
Wow thanks for wasting my time.
Hi Lisa. Thank you for sharing your experience using Zocdoc. Not all providers opt in to being listed on Zocdoc, which could be why no one was listed in your immediate area. We would love to take a look and see what we can do to help, though. Please feel free to reach out to us at (855) 962-3621 or at service@zocdoc.com.
I was searching for a dermatologist and Zocdoc recommended one. After filling out paperwork and driving to the appointment, found out it was NOT a dermatologist but a general practitioner. I was told by the receptionist that it was wrong on Zocdoc, but I don't know why it's not fixed in their site. I will NEVER use this app again.
Hi Robin! I am so sorry that this office had the wrong information listed on Zocdoc. All providers on Zocdoc are responsible for ensuring their information is listed accurately. I want to make sure we are able to follow up with this practice. When you have a chance, please feel free to give us a call at (855) 962-3621.
Zocdoc seems to take perverse pleasure in sowing confusion and bombarding potential clients with excessive registration hoops. This includes Happier Living, a snarky and ineffective portal that you're unfortunately forced to engage with.
After completing the Zocdoc registration, I was compelled to do the same with Happier Living. I was then directed to select from another list of medical professionals and set up another appointment - even though I'd already scheduled one on Zocdoc!
I made five appointments with a healthcare provider, only for each to be cancelled mere hours before the scheduled time. Bear in mind, I'd arranged my schedule to accommodate these appointments, and lo and behold, I was dismissed without explanation!
At this point, I called Happier Living, and found myself on hold for just shy of an hour, at which point I finally hung up! Over the past week, I have hopped from one task to another, refilled out forms, endured email barrages that would make any spam marketer proud, and achieved absolutely nothing - except for emptying a bottle of Excedrin!
Would I recommend them? Not on your life, seriously!
Hi there, we are so sorry to hear this was your experience. That's not how our service is intended to work. We have trained each practice on managing the Check In process and how to manage their appointment on the platform. We are sorry that your experience did not go well. Providers on Zocdoc have full control over the availability listed for their practice and we expect this information to be accurate to avoid last minute cancellations. We would love to hear more about what happened here and at your convenience, if you could please give us a call at (855) 962-3621 to investigate this further.
I used ZocDoc to book an appointment with Echo Park Carbon Health.
Echo Park Carbon Health engaged in fraudulent billing practices that violate Federal Law. I spoke to the facility manager Earl Ruffin, who claimed he wasn't even aware that health service providers are legally required to provide an accurate estimate to patients for scheduled treatments. I was not provided with a Good Faith Estimate for either of my two visits.
ZocDoc links patients to healthcare. Therefore, it is crucial that they provide accurate information about healthcare facilities, so that patients are aware of potential issues. Issues such as illegal behavior would seem like very relevant to others looking to book an appointment.
However, they refused to allow me to publicly review these billing practices on their site. I messaged the customer service desk, and was told I did not book the appointment through ZocDoc and the "review window" loop had closed.
But I did in fact book my appointment through ZocDoc (which I proved with a screenshot attached to the the query I sent to the help desk). The review loop is 120 days. But I was fraudulently billed almost 6 months after my first visit, wherein no estimate was provided.
If a reviewing policy makes it so that patients cannot review past 120 days, then any abuse that happens (via billing especially, which commonly takes months to resolve) CANNOT be reported to other patients. This is a transparency issue. I reported it to ZocDoc and explained the situation, but the multiple customer service reps I corresponded with did not communicate any concern for patient consent and the illegal behavior of medical facilities.
Additionally, the customer service team was unprofessional. It seemed likely my queries were not being read and reviewed by actual human beings. Paragraphs of the same information were cut-and-pasted and resent to me in lieu of actually reviewing my complaint, and the evidence I attached was seemingly not reviewed at all.
Hi Kelly, we're sincerely sorry to hear of the negative experience you had here. Reviews are an incredibly important part of your healthcare experience, which is why we take them so seriously. Zocdoc publishes reviews that adhere to our review policy guidelines. To confirm, we want to create a useful, representative and reliable resource that you can depend on. Please give us a call at 855-962-3621 so we can further investigate this issue for you. We're happy to help! - The Zocdoc Service Team
Claiming because a person is female, white, blonde & good looking means she is "too good looking to be good"! WOW!
A patient was looking for acupuncture doctor and I am a chiropractic. I was charged although he inquired.
Another time the patient canceled her appointments twice and I was charged although she never showed up. The company will charge your credit card no matter if the patient comes or cancels or even asks for another specialty.
Hi Bijan. I apologize if our policies were not explained efficiently when your profile was set up. We are a marketing service where providers pay for new patients finding them on Zocdoc and booking with them. We have policies in place to limit the number of patient no-shows and cancellations. With that being said, no-shows and cancellations may still happen which is why these are factored into our booking fees. Feel free to reach out to us at (866) 962-3621 or service@zocdoc.com if you have any further questions.
I WOULD NEVER USETHEM OR EVEN CONSIDER BECAUSE OF THAT HORRIBLY JUDMENTAL COMMERCIAL! Really the girl doesnt want to see a doctor just because his name is derek? How STUPID! Or hes too old? Just horrible!
There commercial by passes old people as a reliable doctor. Instead chooses one with cool shoes, young, a great hairstyle etc. You get what you deserve people. Good luck.
They have so far:
- not put my booking through
- not sent links to meetings causing me to miss perscription re-fills causing visits to the ER
- doctos just LEAVE the platform and dont tell you and you find out only when they dont show up to the appt.
-I am in shock. I can not explain to you how bad this platform is.
Hi there, thank you for letting us know that this has happened to you on our platform. This is very concerning to hear. It is the providers' responsibility to keep their availability up to date and accurate so I am not sure what might have happened here. We would like to follow up with these practices that have been unresponsive. When you have a moment, please feel free to give us a call at (855) 962-3621. Thanks again.
Providers please please proceed with caution especially new and growing practices who may live near state lines as they will charge for out of state patients referrals even when your practice is not able or licensed to service or perscribe to out of state patients.
Hi Jamie! Thank you for leaving this feedback. For virtual visits, if patients book while in a state you do not treat, you can let our Service Team know and we can look into this. For in person appointments, patients are able to book with the provider they choose to select so we apologize if this is resulting in any failed appointments. We would be interested into investigating your situation further. Please feel free to reach out to us at service@zocdoc.com or (866) 962-3621.
I made my dental appointment online with Zocdoc, but it never went to the actual dentist. The app even changed my requested time by half an hour and then confirmed it. I showed up for my dentist appointment, and they had no idea I was coming. What a horrible waste of time!
Hey there. We are very sorry to hear this office had no record of your appointment. Doctor's offices are trained to manage their appointments when joining Zocdoc, so while we are not sure what may have happened with this doctor's office, we want to make sure we can follow up with them to prevent this from happening again. Give us a call at (855) 962-3621 so we can help.
If you are a practice owner of any kind I cannot stress enough how you should NOT WORK with ZocDoc. All they want to do is take your money with no yield or production consideration whatsoever. 0/5 stars. Look elsewhere for new patient generating ideas.
Hi Brenton, thanks for taking the time to share your experience using Zocdoc. Our goal is to help new patients find your practice and book with you. If you have concerns with optimization and new patient bookings, please reach out to us at (866) 962-3621 and we can see what we can do to help.
We are a new Psychiatric start up. When I came across Zocdoc it sounded like a tool we could use. I actually liked the amount of time needed to set up our clinic. I thought is was a good thing to weed out clients that were not qualified for our clinic. That is where any good thoughts of Zocdoc ended. In 5 months we have yet to receive a qualified lead. We still have to pay for each lead they forward to us. The following is a response to Zocdoc when they sent me a request for feedback.
Every single lead sent to us is not a patient that my clinic can not intake. We rudely State that we do not accept Medicaid Medicare or commercial insurance. Yet. Every lead that you have sent and to make this whole relationship sickening is that you still charge me for these unqualified leads. Every time I call you and I am told that we do our best to only send qualified patients. I have set everything on our site according and as to what your coordinator required. I am still charged for your inability to deliver a qualified patient. I has gotten to the point that I cringe and get a visceral response because I see Zocdoc notification and I know the amount of time that I need to give on your lead, time that I do not have and time I will subsequently have to spend talking with zocdoc that would be better spent banging my head against the wall
Hi Daniel, thank you for your feedback. Zocdoc is a marketing platform which is why you are charged for each booking from a new patient that finds you on Zocdoc. We would love to go over your concerns in more detail and see what we can do to assist you further. You may reach us at (866) 962-3621.
Answer: Hello Mark. Zocdoc offers a closed-loop review system that allows patients to share their experiences after being seen for an appointment booked on Zocdoc. These reviews can be found on each individual provider's Zocdoc profile. You can search for a provider at https://www.zocdoc.com/. Please let us know if we can help you find the care that you need or if there is a different set of reviews that you are trying to access at this time. You can reach our service team at (855)962-3621.
Answer: Hi Sandra, we hope that you were able to get the care that you were looking for. At Zocdoc, we are not able to offer any medical advice or guidance so we recommend you contact your doctor directly if you need to ever verify they will be able to provide the treatment you are looking for. Feel free to reach out to the Zocdoc team at (855) 962-3621 or service@zocdoc.com if there is anything we can do to help you find the care that you need.
Answer: Yes, prices appear to be around $44-180 now. Offices get charged this even for cancellations, no-shows, and fake bookings. Zocdoc has no built in protections to negate this type of booking behaviors. Why would they when they profit off it? Zocdoc also prohibits practices from talking about this fee as it violates their "community standards."
Answer: Hello Swetha. Thanks for reaching out. We'd love to help you find a doctor and book an appointment right online. If you go to www.Zocdoc.com, you can search for doctors by specialty, location, and insurance. You'll be able to see a list of doctors and their availability. Once you select a doctor, you can choose the time that is best for you. Once you complete the booking process, the doctor will receive your appointment information and confirm your appointment via email. This is completely free for you as a patient. Please give us a call at (855) 962-3621 if you need help with this or anything else!
Answer: Hi Amanda! That depends on the doctor's office! Every provider is different, so it would be best to get in touch with them about specific pricing information. Give us a call at 855-962-3621 if you have any other questions. In health, Mary M. Zocdoc Service Team
Answer: Hi Mallory! Thanks for your question! You can see a provider's reviews by viewing the full profile and scrolling down. All of the reviews will be listed there toward the left side of the page. Give us a call at (855) 962-3621 if you are having any trouble! In health, Mary M. Zocdoc Service Team
Zocdoc is the beginning of a better healthcare experience for millions of patients every month. Find doctors you love, read real reviews, book appointments instantly, and more.
Hi there! We are sorry to hear that this was your experience using our platform. All providers choose what information to add to their profile, so there is no reason this should have happened. Providers actually guarantee their information listed and this is something we take very seriously. It sounds like you already let us know about this so we could follow up with the provider, but please let us know if there is anything else we can assist with at (855) 962-3621.
