I have been a Centurylink customer for years, too many evidently. My internet is out since December 22. I had a service appt scheduled yesterday between 8-5. Even received a text message confirmation. No show, no call, and now I cannot get another appt until 12/27. I guarantee I am going to have to threaten to get credit for those days. Customer service is horrible. They all have different lies they tell you, and one even guaranteed they would be there. Once fixed, I'm looking for another Internet provider. Worst company ever. Avoid them at all costs and save yourself a lot of grief.
I have been getting harassing calls and want to change from my current number to a new number. Have been transferred back and forth from CLink to another department and no one at either place can handle this. Nor can I find an online link so I can do it myself.
I've had several issues with Centurylink over the years. I have a modem that's still pretty new and it quit working. I was told a technician was coming today between 8-5 so of course I had to take the entire day off of work because they couldn't give me a more specific timeframe. Well, a technician never came. I contacted Centurylink 4 times today, the first two times someone assured me that a technician was still coming today, even though by my second call it was already 5:30pm. The third call I made I got hung up on and then SURPRISE! It was out of business hours to talk to a live person. So then I did the chat feature. He said the soonest a technician could come out is FOUR DAYS FROM NOW. How is that acceptable?! I will never recommend Centurylink to anyone. Ever.
I wasn't provided with the service, all emails that I sent were reported as scam, and there was no way to contact their customer support. I wouldn't recommend going through them for a service, and hope that this review reaches others looking for these services as a warning.
I have been trying for the last 3 months to get my cell phone connected to the Wi-Fi but I seem to be having a problem now I know I'm not computer savvy I'm computer illiterate but I'm not as dumb as they're trying to make me out to be and I cannot for the life of me figure out why it is I'm having such a difficult time I live in Highlands County I should have coverage there's a tower right down the road but I can't get hooked up since Julian says there's no problem my phone carrier says there's no problem there so I don't know what the issue is but since their customer service sucks $#*! their product sucks you can't and you get in charge for stuff that you don't use for the whole freaking month now my my $45 bill just jumped to $60 cuz they sent me a new modem keep your modem I'm going to go somewhere else so CenturyLink thanks for the aggravation nothing but a headache I hope you find a way to service your customers cuz right now you suck
CenturyLink is the worst internet company EVER. Constantly in a "equipment failure" situation and DOWN more than it's UP during any month. HORRIBLE customer service. Then the company sells out to BrightSpeed, who is even WORSE, without giving their customers any choice at all. If you are looking for a good internet connection anywhere in eastern NC, then go with a DIFFERENT COMPANY. CenturyLink is HORRIBLE!
Bad service NO SUPORT CALLING THEM IS A WEEK LONG JOB TO THEM IT IS ALWAYS YOUR MODOM AND FOR 200.00 THEY WILL GET YOU A NEW ONE THEN THEY HOPE THE PROBLEM ON THERE END IS FIXED THE ONLY THING THEY GET RIGHT IS THE BILL
Ever since Century Link transitioned to Bright Speed, I have had nothing but trouble and absolutely NO help. They keep asking my if I am satisfied with the responses from customer service yet they are totally ignoring my pleads for help. I cannot open many secure e-mails and some emails to clients are being blocked. It has totally crippled my business. I am looking to replace them. Any suggestions are appreciated.
I have been on the phone or texting with their support folks many times since they installed those changes (this past Sunday Eve). Their internet speed test NO LONGER works and my email is screwed up now (mostly not functioning)! They seem to be at a loss as to what to do now because it has been a mess now for 3 days solid. I would highly recommend you find a different ISP. Its a shame because everything was working fine until they installed those recent changes!
This internet is one of the worst internet services I have the displeasure to use. And it's so bad that it makes my mother and I want to switch to Shentel.
Within the last year they've had an outage 50% of the time and it takes 2-3 days for it to be fixed. We live in a semi-rural area so we don't have a lot of choices. If you can at all help it, go with another internet/phone provider as I wouldn't recommend them!
I sold Home-A early in June. The new homeowner was set to take possession last day of June. I called Century Link to arrange shutoff and return of boxes. Century Link asked if I was moving to another home. I told them yes, but there was a delay in move in date, not until last week of July/early Aug. They said that's ok. "Just take your old boxes to the new house. We will disconnect all service on last day of June, call us when you move in to new address and we will set up service and reconnect your old boxes there". So far so good right? Except they did not disconnect service at old house. When I got to new house and tried to set up service there, they could not because they still showed me as owner at old residence with account still set up. They promised to fix problem and said they would have to send new boxes to new address, which would arrive in 3 days, and service personnel would also arrive and set up new service. The boxes arrived. No service team arrived. I called support line, they now have TWO accounts set up for me, and cannot connect my new boxes because of that. And the service team missed my appointment but was rescheduled for a new date. They never showed for the second date either. I called support. They cannot find my account at my new address. Only my old address. And are billing my old address where I no longer live. Also billing now for TWO service addresses. I now have TWO accounts and NO service! Finally after over a dozen phone calls trying to fix this problem, I told them to forget the whole thing. They said I could drop my boxes "at any ups location". So I did. But UPS didn't know what to do with them! Had to find an address on Google to mail it to. The whole experience was really horrible, especially in the middle of moving. And so next, I called Metronet. They were actually polite, behaved as if they WANTED my business, confirmed installation date/time a few times, and had me up and running quickly and immediately. WOW! I was so impressed. No hassle!
I live in Columbia, Missouri. I had two disconnections of my home internet in one month. When you call the tech support they transfer you to a tech service in Philippines and the only thing they advise is unplug/plugin. It took one week for them to reconnect my service after more than 10 calls and online chats I had to make..
Signed up for Centurylink with free installation and free modem. They charged us anyway and said we had to return modem and they would give us another one free, it is huge and cannot be installed in our electrical storage. They then told us to return it and we'd have to pay monthly for the other one. Terrible customer service. Was on phone with them for hours and was disconnected
Our internet service has not worked for 3 days. The automatic answering service doesn't have an option to chat with a live person and not just an AI bot. It won't link my cell phone for update messages. When I connect to the AI bot it just keeps delaying the completion time with explanation.
I have now spent about 10 total hours over three days trying to work out high speed internet with cyber shield. I keep getting transferred to other numbers and the representatives do not know what they are doing and transfer me somewhere else. I explain the problem and ask them not to continue transferring me and help fix the problem. This is the most incompetent group of people I have ever dealt with. I still have not resolved the issues and am getting ready to cancel them.
Nothing but frustration if you need to contact this company, HORRIBLE. They don't deserve any stars!
Awful service. I've been trying to open an account and after a long scheduling/canceling appointments and so many hours in the phone waiting for their technical issues and delays... I'm still without internet. None of the customer service's phone number Centurylink has work effectively. This is a disaster and no one call me back or anything. Zero professionalism and care for anyone. My phone is *******245 just in case this may be the only way someone take me seriously and call me back. Thank you
Worst customer service in the world. If you have a problem you are SCREWED! Got my new modem yesterday and wouldn't connect. After being transferred multiple times and over 5 hours on the phone they finally listened to my request to send a tech to my home. I told the scheduling agent I had an appointment in the morning but would be available in the afternoon. He said he would make me the last appointment of the day. So in the morning I get a text stating they would be here by noon. WTF?!?!? I can't reply to them as I was on the interstate. Complete incompetence on every level!
I only have one option for internet at my home - otherwise I would definitely switch (maybe I should sell my house). I have chatted with 15 different agents to get my account off of vacation hold and still they are transferring me - get and f****ing clue Centurylink!
Answer: Don't pay your bill. Centurylink has the worst customer service on the planet. The best way to cancel anything with them is to cancel the payment. Don't give them a dime and eventually they will get the message.
Answer: Don't bother with either. Centurylink has the worst routers on the planet. Literally designed to fail. No matter what router you get from them, it won't last more than 6 months. If you are stuck with Centurylink and need a good router, go to Best Buy and ask them for a Netgear router. They can help you set it up.
