On Aug. 14 my CenturyLink cable snapped under heavy vines. No internet. Soonest repair? Sept. 2.
That's 25 days without internet, and I work from home.
And of course each call takes an hour to reach a human being.
I ordered t-mobile's internet on Aug. 16. It arrived Aug. 18 and works fine. I'm thankfully quitting CenturyLink. Not sure how an internet provider can stay in business when they can't repair a line for nearly a month.

After 3 attempts to report a problem with my phone and being told there was no problem with CenturyLink line I finally was transferred to another representative who said he would send out a Tech after explaining I had this problem o & on for 46 years! Repair Ticket ******* and a few days later CenturyLink Tech. Neil arrived! Told me there was a "BIG PROBLEM" with the CenturyLink line. Turns out the problem was at a switch box about a mile away. Neil not only was a very pleasant person who explained the problem but obviously is very skilled. He not only restored my telephone line but also restored my confidence in CenturyLink. RLM,

Technician never showed
August 4, 2022

What a joke! The technician was to show between 8am-5pm. They never showed. When I contacted the service I was told to please wait another hour that the technician left them no notes so they should be there soon. Still nothing. I was irate after taking a day off for this. After talking to six different people they offered to reschedule my service! The audacity! After finally screaming at them I think I'm getting the activation fee reimbursed and their awful service canceled. I'm not sure how they run a business when they don't have any inkling as to how to handle customer service.

I was a customer of yours for 21 years at 3 different homes since 2000. I moved to Kuna. CenturyLink said Quantum served my address. Quantum said CenturyLink served my address. After finger pointing for a month, Quantum said they served my home. The installer was here for 5 hours, and then told me to contact CenturyLink. To this day, CenturyLink says to go to Quantum. Insane. After many calls to both companies, CenturyLink supervisors don't return my calls. Everyone knows your customer service is bad. There are at least other 3 competitors in my area, and now one of them has my money.

Unwilling to help
July 25, 2022

I have several contacts with customer service. It is clear that they are not knowledgeable about their systems or are unwilling to help. When you ask to speak to their supervisor, the request is denied. I will bring my business elsewhere.

What internet
July 21, 2022

I canceled CenturyLink today and went to a satellite company. CenturyLink has totally unreliable internet; the phone made so much background noise I had trouble hearing the person I was talking with. Calling them is a joke. "Your estimated wait time is 55 minutes." Hah. I waited more than an hour and finally hung up. They do not care about the customer or the service they offer. Stay away; even if you live in a rural area. There are alternatives.

Good luck talking to anyone from the United States. They send you to a call center in a third world country with made up American names having a heavy accent and all are so incompetent! Be ready to spend at least 50 minutes to 2.5 hours on the phone with them wasting your life away. Did I mention you'll need to do this 2-4 times a month every year. I thought Ixfinity (Comcast) was horrible when I switched 12 years ago. I'm switching back to them hoping they've changed. You can literally get a heart attack dealing with Century Link. Good Bye Century Link! I gave 1 star because that's the only way you can submit a review by at least making a incompetent company have some good about it.

I have called on 3 separate days to report my elderly mother's phone is not working. Each time thinking a repair ticket was filed, the second time I was even given a repair ticket # ******* and assured it would be repaired within 24 hours. When I call back to check, there is no repair ticket on file and my Mom's phone is still out of order and has been for almost a week. This company is crap! July 12,2022

Unacceptable service
July 8, 2022

We ordered century link wifi installation for our new apartment in late June. The first technician wasn't available until early July. I was told to wait for the installation from 8am-5pm in an internet-less apartment on a work day, (I work remotely) and the technician never arrived. After calling customer service, I learned that the installation was cancelled and rescheduled without notifying me, for two weeks later. Online, there was no paper trail that the service had been rescheduled. I spent over an hour trying to contact a human representative to confirm that this had occurred and attempt to reschedule for sooner. Once I managed to reach a human, I received no explination of why service windows are 8 hours long, why the cancellation had occurred, why I hadn't been notified about the cancellation or why the soonest installation time was so far in the future. For remote workers especially, internet is not optional and can not wait.

Ultimately, we switched to xfinity and were able to set up internet ourselves the same day. My only good experiance was during service cancellation, because we got a refund on the services we pre-paid for but never received.

There is no excuse for this level of negligence. At least airlines tell you when your flight is canceled or delayed.

I have been both a seller and a buyer on this site. Absolutely horrid customer service in every way possible. I once received an item that was so horribly damaged (not disclosed by the seller, right down to split seams) and Poshmark sided with the seller. I requested a return and was denied. I disagreed with their decision and was denied again despite sending photos of the condition of the item. When I had my charge card company cancel the charge Poshmark actually threatened me by stating if I ever did that again my account would be affected, so I promptly removed my 60+ listings and I am happily selling elsewhere.

I decided to make a change to CenturyLink and the day came for them to install my service. First off I was given a time frame of 8-12 of when I should expect the tech. Then I get a text saying hes late. Now it's 12 - 5. Not a big deal. Well its 4:20 and I still havent heard from anyone! When I try to call, I sat on hold for ever, about 45 minutes and got nothing. If Im having this hard of a time trying to become a customer I cannot even imagine what they do to their current customers. Absolute bull$#*!! Stay away from this cheap $#*! company!

CenturyLink service is at best "average". I hate to see the Century Link truck at the corner of the road in my rural neighborhood. That usually means that service is going to be horrible very shortly. I recently contacted Century Link virtual assistant to cancel my service. The person I "drew" was not from the United States and did not have a handle on English language. That was frustrating. The rep kept asking the same question over and over with the same syntax and spelling problems. I hope that I am doing the right thing when I return my equipment. Last time, I received a $400 bill, and they claimed that they never received it. I will be looking for another provider (not Century Link) when I arrive to my new home.

CrapLink!
June 20, 2022

CenturyLink, has the most unreliable infrastructure imaginable. Our internet goes down on a monthly basis. It's always a huge hassle trying to find the right phone number or to chat with someone who can actually assist with getting a tech out to fix it. When they do fix it, it's always a bandaid fix that never holds for long.
My internet is down again! This time after calling several Disconnected numbers, I was able to get an Appointment for 8 days out! Told the woman that was unacceptable and she Hung Up on me!
Absolutely the worst company ever to deal with!
Their equipment is horribly unstable, the techs abilities are questionable, but the customer service is absolutely despicable!
If their was an another option for me to change service I would. But sadly I am stuck.

Customer first that what I was taught, nope not these days. Customer pays gets $#*!ty service complains about it, and nothing. High speed internet as long as you don't have 3 smart tv, printer, 5 cell phone. Oh and don't get me started on the grandkids tablets and games.
What do I hear from CL. Sir if things aren't being used turn them off.
For what I'm paying! Your kidding right? Have you every told a teenager turn your tv, game, or cell phone if your not using it? Good "Fbomb" luck with that.

I took nearly 3 months to get internet established, taking numerous calls to their customer care line and chatting with their online assistance, all who would regularly accidently hangup or give false promises on timelines. When internet was finally approved, I had to go through 3 technicians to finish installation. The last of these drove off the driveway into my newly place sod (required cutting out and replacing a 3sqft portion to repair). The line was barely buried (off my property line in a good portion) and I had to dig back up a section to correctly place it, yet CenturyLink still proceeded to charge a $300 drop fee. Upon another call to their customer care, they sited a completion date which reflected 3 weeks past when they finished the "work". I sited the documentation I had for damages and failure to perform $300 worth of labor, to which they would only offer a $50 credit.
Never have I had such terrible service from a utility provider. The fact that the State has allowed them to monopolize the area for which I reside is disgraceful.

Worst customer service
June 1, 2022

The worst customer service of any company. Wait time to speak with a representative is 70-80 minutes. I have been without phone service for 22 days because they do not know how to repair it. It is not my phone or my phone lines but somewhere on the main line. They schedule appts and never show up after telling you to be home between 8-5 to just sit and wait for a tech to never show up. If you have an alternative please take it.

Centurylink has the worst customer service in the world. It gets worse all the time. I have been without landline service for a month. They were supposed to forward my calls to my cell phone but forwarded the calls to some random business. I notified Centurylink and even told them the business they had the calls going to. I have made calls, tried online live chat, and exchanged numerous emails, and have been dealing with a so-called "Customer Advocate" for days and still can't get anything done. I would give them minus 100 stars if I could. If you have a choice of providers for phone, internet and TV go with any other company than Centurylink. Look at all the reviews, it is so obvious they do not care about their customers.

Max 1.5Mbps!
May 3, 2022

While I understand I live in a rural area and internet services could be very limited. We have a school less than 1/2 mile from us that has fiber through Spectrum. So why not go through them? Well, found out that there is an agreement between companies not to encroach on the others' "territory" so Spectrum, Cox, and other companies will not open up to us. And it appears that CenturyLink does not find this area important enough to expand in.! 990 era coax should be good enough. Thankfully Mr. Musk and his Starlink should be hitting the ground soon.
