Do not listen what they say on TV. This company is bad. Period, I broke my phone. Since i did not have my apple id they could not help me. Even though i had insurance So i paid the $700 to rid myself of this foul company and went to a real one. Verizon said no problem. Well take care of the apple ID. It took Verizon seconds to transfer my data from the broke phone to the new one. Consumer cellular cannot do this because they have no stores or real people that work for them. THE PEOPLE AT TARGET HAVE NO CLUE. So if you want real service i suggest a real company. Cheap ain't better.!
I have just spent 8 hours trying to resolve a problem. It is still unresolved. Everyone at Consumer cellular is a supervisor. None of them can solve a simple problem. I just want to make an international call. That is beyond their capability. The most frequent answer I get from them is" I'm sorry, I don't make international calls". But you're my provider, don't you have someone in your organization who does?. Try calling the number and see what you get. We are not able to call out. Then give me an email address so I can send you my problem in writing? Were sorry, we don't have any email addresses. Then put me through to executive escalations. Were sorry we don't have a number for that & there is a protocol we have to follow, you first have to go through a senior supervisor. Well put one on the phone, were sorry, they have to call you back, can I schedule that call for you. How about 4:00 pm today? Sorry, they will be going home about that time. You can write us a letter. So in the 21st century, the high tech communications company want you to write a letter. They are obviously the cream of the crap. But be late on your payment and see how fast they react.
Worse service we ever had.My Dad passed away I have payed the final bill that he had, his cell phone was discontinued and they still sending bills. Their customer service is terrible I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO NOT ONE. IF ANY ONE IS GOING THROUGH THE SAME THING WITH THIS COMPANY WRITE YOUR COMMENTS THIS IS THE LAST THING WE NEED WHEN WE HAVE LOSS OUR LOVE ONES
Had Consumer Cellular for years, but when bought a new house I couldn't get any service at my new place, so had to change to a different phone service. Called and talked to customer service (which took over 52 minutes to get in) letting them know I was changing service and needed the un-lock pin number for my old phone, (And did it on the billing cycle day), then got another statement that they were billing me the next month, called back in to customer service (another 38 minute wait) and was told that "" EVEN THOUGH "" they show I had called in "" they "" DIDN'T DISCONCET ME "" so now they want me to pay for something I didn't even have as did get a new phone and number with my new service. """ THIS SERVICE MIGHT BE FOR US OLDER PEOPLE, BUT WE STILL DON'T NEED TO BE RIPED OFF ""
The low prices offered at the website for cellular services are very misleading and incorrect. I am still arguing with Consumer Cellular over billing. I tried the $25 Plan, which is the 250 min and 2GB, with additional AARP benefits: a 5% AARP discount, and "Our extended 100% risk-free guarantee: If you're not completely satisfied for any reason, simply cancel within the first 45 days and pay nothing. It's absolutely hassle-free". So I expected an initial bill for $23.75 plus state taxes (8.875% in NY) which I calculated at $2.11. I tried to cancel after 40 days, only to be told that the special AARP deal only applied to use of 500MB (I used 548MB), with charges after that, and am now being billed an additional fee of about $20, on top of the first month fee of $34.74 because of all the extra surcharges tacked on (with "Government Taxes & Fees" listed at $5.08) for a total of $43.06. None of these additional charges and fees are explained, nor any warning given about 500MB maximum usage. I calculated that the real price for my 40-day trial, based on what was advertised, should be $25.86, which is what I paid them. I will not pay more.
Not only that, but the first SIM card permitted only limited phone use, and so I had almost no useful phone service for the first week (and many visits to TARGET) until the SIM was replaced. They have no email communication, only phone service, which requires waiting in line. Consumer Cellular is Consumer Scam. Stay away.
Ordered a new phone got a refurbished one with problems they could't fix. Sent it back and they sent me a new sim card for my old phone that only lasted a couple of days. They told me they new it was going to be no good just didn't know the exact date. In my last 60 days of service i was without all service for 12 days and had no voicemail for all of it. Spent 5 hours with their help desk in this time and got nothing done, they also refused to port my # to my new carrier. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!
I have had sprint for a long time they are a really great company wouldn't change. But they really didn't have what I was looking to get my mom. I need something really easy for her and she really didn't need a lot so, I went on consumer cellar site and got a very simple plan. So they confirm my order and sent me a conformation email phone would be here in 3 to 5 days. So I waited no phone came so I call they told me that they need a copy of my id and a bill with my address and copy of my credit card I was using. I could not beleave this. I did not have this much with getting my account with sprint ever again. I will ever deal with them again. And I would ever tell anyone about them other then to stay clear from this company.
I have been with Consumer Cellular about five years, now. I previously had Tracfone. My husband had Great Call. I like the Doro phone. Very simple, but loud enough and the emergency button is great! My hubby bumps his "5-Star" [Great Call] constantly! Mine [Consumer Cellular] must be pressed three times, making it far better, in my opinion. Their customer service is really great! It's one place that you are not charged for a SIM card. My bill is always under thirty dollars a month. I can't find anything better, and I have looked! Square Trade was worth it to me. I fouled up my phone and had to have a new, refurbished, one sent out. Definitely glad I pay for square Trade.
My husband just received his new phone and he is beyond thrilled! It has been easy for him to get used to, and he transferred his old Tracfone number. We highly recommend the Doro phone over the less expensive one. It is worh the extra $20.00.
Low cost, no bs cellphone service.
Service quality is excellent.
If you're a senior like me, and are not surgically attached to your phone, these guys are great.
Since Thursday I have respectively spent 47 minutes, 38 minutes, 19 minutes, 27 minutes and 9 minutes on hold (as well as several more calls my mind is blocking out) to Consumer Cellular. I've been to the library twice to use their wi-fi to download a fix as well as my neighbors living room. Nada. In addition I've listened to one rep complain how he arrived for work but no one had opened the building and another complain that he was really tech support (but didn't fix my problem) but if there were no tech calls he was to handle customer calls and if the were none of those he was supposed to make sales calls. Once they bumped me up to "concierge service" (read PITA and I don't want to deal with them) where I could hear thirty other people talking to customers. Phil in concierge did nothing for me and was not amused when I suggested that as a concierge he should at least have his own cubicle.
I've been with CC for awhile now, and I have never had a problem with my phone or service. Actually for the last couple years with them, I have received extra mins, data, and text for the same price. I believe they have boosted my plan 3x since I have signed up. If your just a normal phone user and want to create your own plan, this is the company to get a phone. I have plenty of mins, text, and data for about 35.00. Thats a decent deal.
Answer: You can get a hold of them but it's a moot point given the service they provide
Answer: Legit company Scam on service and what they advertise.
Answer: Probably not since they barely can get costumer service
