Goldbelly has ZERO QA. Anyone with overpriced water, peanuts or brownies can sell their stale freezer burnt product for a premium. Complete rip off. If you find a purveyor you like then order from them direct... If they dont provide direct mail order then their product is probably made in some dirty sweat shop sitting on ice for months. Every product that I ordered has been complete garbage. Disputed with my amex and got all my money back because their product is filthy.

My mother ordered two wagyu steaks for my husband for Christmas via Goldbelly.
We got tracking information that indicated that they would be delivered December 21. EIGHT DAYS AGO. They arrived this afternoon and of course they were room temperature, not safe for consumption. Goldbelly has been completely unresponsive. I submitted an email support request several days ago and have heard NOTHING. I have repeatedly tried to call them with no success. I hang out on hold for 20 minutes and then I am disconnected. The lack of customer service is APPALLING. We won't be using them again.

Excited to try Goldbelly for the first time and add a little flair to our corporate holiday luncheon. Shipping is not reliable and customer service is horrible. Called the shipper, UPS, to get information on my delivery only to be told to call the sender because UPS sometimes uses a third part for deliveries, and they did not have any information regarding the delivery. I was on hold for 20 minutes with Goldbelly only to have an automated voice say call volume was high, it was better to email, and then disconnect me. I was content waiting to speak with someone because of the time sensitivity and understood it being the holidays I'd have a long wait. Sent an email to Goldbelly only to get a very annoying response "thank you food lover" and they'd get back to me in 1 - 2 days. Unfortunately, the items were needed within 24 hours. The items offered on Goldbelly come at a high cost, however, grateful to be able to get them, but the expectation is that Goldbelly will offer an equally high level of customer service and unfortunately, they fall extremely short. Very dissappointed! Do not order if needed by a certain time. Unreliable!

I ordered apples from Goldbelly over a week ago and I still don't have them. Keep in mind that the shipping location is only 3 hours from my house. I have emailed Goldbelly 3 times with no response from their customer service people. In a little over a week the apples have gone from the shipping location with FedEx about an hour North East to Omak, Wa where they sat for 3 days. FedEx then took them about 2 hours South West to Yakima, Wa where they have sat for another 3 days. Goldbelly won't answer my complaint and refuses to offer a more reliable shipping option My advice is STAY AWAY FROM GLODBELLY! Find a reliable company to order from that will actually offer some amount of customer service. This is something Goldbelly FAILS at in every way!

I ordered three identical meals from Gold Belly. All 3 of them were packed improperly, broke open, and contaminated the rest of the food making it inedible. One of the boxes leaked out all over my floor. Gold Belly refuses to accept responsibility and provide a refund or accept the credit card dispute. In fact they are continuing to fight the dispute with credit card company saying there is nothing they can do.

Ships via FedEx and requires someone to be home? So, my cake that was to arrive on Friday now won't be delivered until Monday, if I am here? Who does that? I don't want to some cake that's been sitting in a box for 3 days.
I have ordered from Goldbelly four times now, and I have had major problems with two of these orders. In both cases, the problems were the fault of the sellers and not Goldbelly itself; but if Goldbelly is going to act as intermediary, they should do a much better job of vetting their sellers. Furthermore, I would have liked to leave a review on Goldbelly, but they do not allow customers to do this directly. Apparently they curate their reviews from other sites, which makes them less than worthless. I now expect what I see on Goldbelly to be misleading, and even if they correct problems that arise, it isn't worth the hassle.

The refund policy on damaged items really needs to be improved. I had a shipment that I paid for expedited shipping for my grandson's birthday. The order was shipped on Friday and was supposed to arrive Saturday by noon. My order did not arrive until Monday and when it arrived it was melted and destroyed. I requested a full refund. I was offered a replacement or a store credit but denied my request for a full refund. Very disappointed. I opted for store credit but according to my response, I will have to wait 3-4 more days until that shows up on my account. Again disappointed that my store credit should at least show up more promptly and not several days late.

I have used Goldbelly about 6 or 7 times in the past 7 months. The first experience was outstanding. The others weren't as exciting. The first order went over very well and inspired two other families to start ordering from Gold Belly. Unfortunately, about three of the orders were not up to par. A chocolate cake was exceptionally dry and 1/2 the cupcakes I gifted to my niece were inedible. I paid over $60 for an order of cupcakes. They were delivered to my niece for her birthday. They were packaged well and beautiful, but when they were served it was found that the chocolate cupcakes actually tasted salty which indicates there was a poor mixing of the batter. I apologized to the recipient. I contacted Gold Belly hoping to have the items replaced. Unfortunately, Seth ( CSR) didn't think I was worth the time or the energy. Seth was assigned to work with me. He was late in replying, quite terse and rude. I received generic responses; the response was completely lacking of thoughtfulness or even concern for the failure of the product. He then offered me a whopping $15 off of next $50 purchase which would expire in 2 weeks. I wrote back and explained that his response and the $15 weren't really sufficient because half the cupcakes in the batch were inedible. I was looking for a replacement. His response was that the cakes were non-returnable... All sales were final. I don't think that I had any intention of returning the inedible cakes to him. I wrote back and said I was very upset and angry that they did not even consider my concerns or a replacement. SETH and his coconspirators opted to ignore me. They lost a potential lifetime customer. I think ordering six times over 7 months is a loyal customer, but apparently customers are fungible. I will not vouch for the quality because clearly a lot of these items have been made and frozen and been in that state for an undetermined length of time... NOT an acceptable product and complete failure as customer service reps.
Reader please note that their BBB rating is VERY LOW which clearly indicates a failure in communication, customer service or product.

I have placed 2 orders so far and BOTH times, the delivery date got pushed out for some reason or another. I selected and paid for a specific delivery date, which is the whole point of this company, delivering food as fresh as possible, but how can it be fresh if it is never delivered on time?!
My order was supposed to be delivered on Friday, 8/19. The package was delayed and now est delivery is Monday 8/22. When I placed the order, I selected a specific date for a reason. Delayed by 5 days is NOT acceptable. I will be on vacation during the new delivery date, which means the package will continue to sit at the FedEx warehouse until I am back, which is an additional 3 more days. This is such $#*! service!

A couple of weeks ago i ordered a coconut cake a long with a caramel cake, both arrived frozen, i put them in the freezer as soon as they arrived. Then about 10 days later i removed them to thaw over night for a family dinner. They were really good until we all started throwing up after we had cake later in the afternoon

They sold a cake made by one of their suppliers, advertised "packed in dry ice" but only had 3 tiny cooler packs in the box, cake was totally thawed & understandably trashed upon arrival.

I ordered a ny cheesecake to ship from NY to Fl for a birthday gift a week in advance. Goldbelly shipped my cheesecake package out via UPS ground instead of any priority. Which they stated they do often. The vendor recommends 2 day or overnight for the perishable. The cheesecake was scanned at 534pm on the 20th and scheduled to deliver on the 22nd but was delayed in transit until around 7pm on the 23rd. When I spoke with the vendor they indicated the ice packs are really only good for about 36-48 hrs. I called the shipping company they stated it had shipped ground which could technically take up to 5 days and was on a trailer in about 110 degree weather. Gold belly did give me a refund after i went through much trouble of calling the shipping company and vendor to get my own information but it was never about the money it was about getting the surprise birthday gift where it needed to be on time. Even though their customer service was nice and i have no complaints i feel as if they should have never labeled a perishable to ship that far with ground shipping and it was either a cheapskate or they just did not care how long it took to get there. I would have gladly paid for expedited shipping if i would have known they would have been sending it ground. It was my first order and my last. Most of the vendors on the site sell via mail themselves and i recommend just buying direct and not through goldbelly since they try to go the cheap route on freight

Ordered cheesesteaks and, when the food arrived, the ice was melted and the food was spoiled, soggy, and warm. You basically pay ridiculous prices for food only for it to arrive spoiled and no opportunity to secure a refund.

This sounded like a great service. Almost too good to be true and let me tell you it was. I ordered some food to be delivered on a Thursday for my husband's Father's Day gift. I checked the status that morning and all was good. I checked again around 4:30pm only to find it wasn't even out for delivery. I understand stand things happen, but I wished the company would reach out to me when things aren't going as planned. This is an expensive service and rightfully so, so I guess I just expected better service standards. I ended up having to scramble to make a dinner for that night and told that hopefully it would arrive the following day. It did arrive the next day, but at room temperature so I have to throw it all out and now scramble again for tonight's dinner. They did give me a credit. Gee thanks, now I can possibly have this nightmare dinner happen again. I'll just get local takeout next time and save myself the aggravation of this happening again.

Answer: They aren't necessarily a scam, but very poor customer service policies. If anything goes wrong with your order, like it did with mine, they just blocked me from their Facebook page so I couldn't leave a review. It's just luck if your order arrives and looks as you would expect and if it doesn't you are out of luck. Just contact local bakeries or restaurants and have them deliver for you, no reason to pay Goldbelly and have a third party who cares nothing about your order throw it around in the back of their truck and deliver it trashed. Goldbelly is unscrupulous and a big risk of wasted money.
